A credit default swap is really just a bet. Otherwise known as an unregulated insurance contract. If you're the bank holding a loan, and you're looking for protection in the event of a default, I as an insurer collect premium from you and if the loan goes bad I am supposed to cover your loss. This is what pretty much blew up AIG. AIG was unable to meet their obligations when the 2007 crisis unfolded. The obvious problem is that the CDS market is not regulated so there are essentially no capital requirements to be the bookie. History repeats itself.

It's been dumping and pumping in this range for ages! It's technically just going sideways, sideways means generally stagnant. I'd love to stack some of those cool bars, but I just can't afford the premiums on most fractional silver. As cheap as constitutional is, it does the same thing for less than a quarter of the premium. I'll definitely pick some up off the secondary market from my LCS if he ever gets any in for a few bucks over the spot.
Thanks, Dave , I always hear/heard financial people talking about derivatives and credit default swaps. I wasn’t really clear on what it was but now I understand they just make up their own language so the common man and woman can’t understand what the hell they’re talking about. It’s just debt debt and more debt. And I have opted out of that system for four years ago now. Stack on!

The integrity of pieces of silver is very questionable if you were to bring it into a store to barter it maybe difficult to exchange. You would be better off taking it to a “We buy Silver and Gold kiosk and then change for cash.
