    So glad you didn't complain about the white date disc. In person it ties in beautifully with the moon phase and overall asymmetrical, yet perfectly balanced aesthetic. I think you hit it out of the park in pairing it on the ColaReb wood grain strap. And yep, I got one. A really special one!

      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +1

      Completely agree I meant to mention the date window by just saying I don’t mind it’s white haha. It does work well worth he design and honestly I think it would be hard to do something that matches the fume style of the dial. Hope you are enjoying yours 🙏🏻.

    The second sub and main dial reminds me of the moon and the earth approaching a half moon. Or maybe an eclipse. Sweet watch! Love the color.

    this is because the hour markers aren't flat, they are convex. a convex surface catches light from a range of angles much greater than a flat surface. that is also the reason why domed crystals reflect are more shiny.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +1

      Great observation. Obviously a little more technically impressive to achieve but overall I don’t love the style of execution.

      @@theknightswatch as a GS fan the indices are indeed a bit underwhelming. Having said that, the fact that they tend to always be "on" does functionally aid in legibility, especially in marginal light.

    Beautiful watch. It's a long term grail for me albeit in white. I'm sure they'll keep updating this range over the years. By the way, I love how you take watches off the stock straps. The 'swamp tan' strap was an amazing combination. Wish more watch people on CZcams changed from stock strap/bracelet for their luxury (and non luxury) watches.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +1

      I’m sure you’ll enjoy it once you get yours. The white dial is very classy and I love the addition of blued hands on that one. Glad you enjoyed the video. I guess not all people are super into swapping straps but for me it can really change the look of a watch and make it more fun. Thanks for watching!

    Great review and great watch. I own the salmon version of this watch and I think you get a lot for the money. I also have a 6.5 wrist and feel the proportions wear well on my wrist.

    For me it’s between this warch and the JLC reverso duoface. Both can be found at around the same price on the grey market

  • @juniorjr5328
    @juniorjr5328 Před 2 lety +3

    I own the blue version. Wonder if the blue dial has the same bubbly texture. I like looking at the movement. This is my daily with 50m water resistance and reverso is strictly my dress piece, 30m only

    Hey, I guess I could gush on and on, but I really enjoyed finally seeing it in depth. It really is an objet d’art. On both sides. It looks great on your wrist and honestly I loved seeing your enthusiasm for this. There really is the distinctive German design that just asserts itself, but with the emerald dial and moonphase, with a touch of whimsy. Hey: how do you actually set the moon phase? Is it a complicated process? Great review Xavier!

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks! Agreed Mike. It’s a cool watch and I was happy to own it. That movement really is lovely to look at. The moon phase is super easy. They provide a little pin tool and there is a pusher in the case near the crown. Just push it to advance the moon.

  • @kevinl6231
    @kevinl6231 Před 2 lety

    7/2022: I don’t have any use for the moonphase and consider it mostly decorative. Wish they still offered the Panomatic Date. It filled it the extra real estate on the dial with their logo. The Panoreserve is a good alternative and its a mm slimmer. Only thing is you have to wind it. Personally, I’m not willing to buy the GO at retail. There are presently some on C24 for a lot less, albeit I don’t see any in green.
    👍🏼

    A classy piece indeed and your review is good.
    A longer power reserve would be helpful but Id imagine difficult to achieve.
    Moonphase is just a gimmick for me but fun.

    It looks great. your wrist is just like mine, what size watch do you normally wear? 40mm is generally what I wear. I've tried 38mm but they appear too small.

  • @leyay7540
    @leyay7540 Před 3 lety +2

    I am a bit shocked by the surface unevenness of the dial. It reminds me of enamel dials..
    Actually there's an original 38.5mm version. They enlarge the case but use the same movement, so the proportion has changed a bit. Personally I prefer the original one.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +2

      I completely agree. I don’t quite understand why it’s uneven and it must be the finishing process but it’s very interesting. I personally didn’t like the design of the older 38.5mm series but I do prefer the case size. S

    Hi! I’m in the market for the GO panoreserve versus the JLC reverso. Noted that you have also reviewed the reverso, may I have ur advice on which watch should I pick up? I had a small wrist of 6.25inch. Thank you!

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +2

      Between the two, especially considering your wrist size, I would go for the Reverso. A little classier as a dedicated dress watch but can still worn casually. It’s a beautiful watch and will fit super nice on your wrist in either the medium or small size. The Glashütte is gorgeous as long as you are ok with possibly some lug overhang.

    The thing that would bug me is the square datewindow. As everything else on the dial is round.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 3 lety +1

      Personally never bothered me. I feel it does make it stand out but because it is so well excited I don’t mind the date window being a point of interest. All personal taste I suppose!

    The moon phase and date and seconds i find useful highly. I dont think you leave your fkn house or restaurants etc. very good review, however. I am concerned about the AR coating comment. Hm. Readability is king. I want this in white silver.
