Taiwan guava is becoming popular every year among the guava farmers. The reason is a regular fruiting character with two harvest seasons every year.
Another most important character of Taiwan guava is the sweetness of the fruit. The high ascorbic acid content in the fruits makes this guava fruit internally acclaimed and most sought after fruit in the international market fetching premium price for quality fruits. Each fruit weighs around 250 -1000 grams. Foreign buyers prefer this size to a bigger size. The fruit looks light green in color at maturity.
The Taiwan guava tree reaches the height of 2.5 to 3.0 Meters on average with a canopy size of 2.0 to 2.5 Meter diameter

తైవాన్ జామ సాగులో విజయభేరి మోగిస్తున్న ఖమ్మం జిల్లా రైతు
రైతుల క్షేత్రాల్లో తైవాన్ జామ సాగు సిరులు పండిస్తోంది. మృదు మధురమైన రుచితో, నిల్వ గుణం ఎక్కువ వుండే తైవాన్ జామకు, వినియోగదారులనుండి అత్యధిక ఆదరణ లభించటంతో 2014 వ సంవత్సరం నుండి తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఈ రకం జామ విస్తీర్ణం గణనీయంగా పెరుగుతోంది. జామ ఉత్పత్తి ఎక్కువైనప్పుడు తరచూ ధరల్లో గణనీయమైన మార్పు కనిపిస్తున్నా....ఏడాదిలో సరాసరి రేటు ఆశాజనకంగా వుండటంతో రైతులు మంచి ఫలితాలు సాధిస్తున్నారు.
ఖమ్మం జిల్లా బోనకల్లు మండల రైతు నాగచంద్రుడు గత ఏడాది జనవరిలో మొదటిసారిగా తైవాన్ జామను 2 ఎకరాల్లో సాగుచేసారు. ఎకరాకు 900 మొక్కల చొప్పున నాటారు. నాటిన మొదటి సంవత్సరమే
2 ఎకరాలకు 300 క్వింటాళ్ల దిగుబడి రావటం, కిలోకు సరాసరిన 20 రూపాయల ధర లభించటంతో 3 లక్షల ఆదాయం గడించారు. దీనికితోడు అంతరపంటలతో మరో 3 లక్షల ఆదాయం తీసారు. ఈ ఏడాది 2 ఎకరాలకు 500 క్వింటాళ్లకు తగ్గకుండా దిగుబడి వస్తుందని రైతు చెబుతున్నారు. ప్రస్థుతం కిలో జామ పండ్లను 24 రూపాయల చొప్పున తోటవద్దే విక్రయిస్తున్నారు. ఈ ఏడాది 2 ఎకరాలకు 10 లక్షలకు తగ్గకుండా ఆదాయం వస్తుందని రైతు చెబుతున్నారు. వివరాలు ఈ స్టోరీలో తెలుసుకుందాం.
