    Man...this beat and Shook Ones beat was so dark when they dropped. Mobb Deep literally single-handedly changed the vibe of Hip Hop when they came out. These 2 beats were the hardest and darkest ever heard at that time.

    Yep. That was Nas. Mobb Deep and him are from the same housing projects in Queens that they rap about. He's in the song Cradle to the Grave with them. Another fire track from that same Album. Temperature Rising and Trife Life are other good ones. Basically, the whole album is fire.

    You saw Nas in the video but missed Puffy dancing in front of the Bodega in the Hilfiger sweater.
    Nas, Havoc, Cormega, Nature, Capone from CNN, Tragedy Khadafi(Intelligent Hoodlumn) all are from Queensbridge Projects also Ron Artest the basketball player. Prodigy is from Long Island but him and Havoc met when they were in Juvi together just like Noreaga met Capone.

    B,.... I was in College when this came out.. and let me say.. There was a commercial about this album.. that heat was so dangerous they took it off the air... This song was rocked that entire summer of 95'. This was when P got on the radar of the best lyricist in NY

    You are right that you(people) can, a lot of time, tell about the place music comes from fast. And it's not just NYC Hip hip. I was watching this series on youtube called 'blind test' were some DJ's were played songs and they tried to guess/remember the artist and title of some tracks without any help, only listening(just search 'blind test 90's episode, djs or something like that to find it) It was surprising how many times the people said first thing things like 'oh this is chicago house' or 'this is detroit techno' before anything else. They would then dial it in more to the artist or label but the era and place the song was from was the first thing they heard.

      The whole song was a Pac diss! And they were the only ones that straight up destroyed Pac! Although the song didn't drop until after Pac died. It was the only response that murdered Hit em up lyrically, production wise, and factually speaking! My favorite did track all time!
