Thank you for uploading this. The Vocal Majority sang "The Music Never Ends" at John Gary's funeral. I never hear it without thinking of how fitting and deeply moving a tribute that had to have been, There is pure poetry in this piece and no performer has ever done it with the beauty and perfection of The Vocal Majority.
I've been a fan of the VM since its inception - about as long as I've been a Life Member of the SPBSQSA, Inc. (3/5/1973) - now the Barbershop Harmony Society. I've also had the privilege of attending HEP school with Al, Bill, Gary & Brian - the Dealer's Choice quartet, the year before they became our Champions. I had the VM recording from one of their 1st albums, The Lord's Prayer, played at both my Dad's funeral in 1978, and Mom's in 1984. I've also left specific directions it be played at mine as well. This recording has continued to move me so much over the years, I plan to add it to my funeral playlist as well, along with a recording of my West Towns Chorus and I singing, Precious Lord. As great as Westminster Chorus IS and my 1987 West Towns Chorus WAS. The Vocal Majority, under the direction of both Jim and Greg Clancy will forever be #1 in my heart.
Bob you must have known my dad, Dave Barrow, who went home last Mother’s Day. VM was his life, & were so grateful to have this music to keep in our lives, with all the memories. Cheers!
