    A SpeedyBee "Pro" App would be nice. May be 20€-30€ for a version which connects via ELRS-Wifi to the FC.

      @@olbu That's a really good point. I didn't even think about the fact that most people don't like apk's. I've even got one new android phone that won't let me install apk's even after enabling it like I normally would and then a full reset of the phone, so yeah apk's can be a hassle.

    Not sure what this is a solution to? Why would you want to carry the extra weight and add wiring? Programming via usb cable is easy enough and using the OSD to fine tune settings works well. If you didn't have a PC then the removable adapter makes sense and unplug during flight.

    I just take an otg cable with me, and use betaflight configurator on my android phone. I had several flight controllers with WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity but i really think it's a pita. also had bad experience with old speedybee app (=borked config) haven't used it since then..

    I ripped my micro-USB socket from the FC.
    Is this device suitable for set Betaflight and flash firmware (in the future) instead of try to fix the broken component?
    Is possible connect to the FC after solder the module without any setup made with USB connection before?

    I have had the Flywoo BT Nano for quite a while and I've been using with the SpeedyBee app. The only difference I can see functionally is that it can't be powered down when arming unless it's connected to a power switch (something like TinysLEDs RealPit VTX power switch).
    I'm curious how the SpeedyBee detects arming in order to power down.

    • @JustinHunnicutt
      @JustinHunnicutt Před rokem

      It seems like the msp connection just passes along the arming state . I don't know much about msp but that seems pretty simple. If you want you can use any other pad like led or an extra motor output, connect it to the switch pad on bt adapter and tell speedy bee to associate that pad with arming status and it'll disable BT without using the msp connection.

  • @JustinHunnicutt

    So can it do firmware flashing or blheli config like big speedy bee adapter? That's the version I keep wanting.

    Hi Ian, sorry to bother you with the other topic, but the fan on my dji goggles V2 suddenly stopped working, so they are just going black in few minutes after powering on. Do you have any tips on how to repair it maybe? Can it be a matter of the firmware? I'm on 06 firmware but since the fan won't start, I'm a bit afraid of updating them as they might get overheat during the process.

    also if you reallly really want to adujust stuff take a laptop with you runing windows and do it that way its way safer and works just fine unless speedy bee tells me other wise etc ill hold true to my statement below reason being one youtuber demonstrated this and warned us about this stuff so im passing it on i dont know how speedy bee does it with the 745 board with both usb and this enabled so doing what mad tech suggests turning off msp yea bad idea proabbly dont do uart 1 too do uart like 4 usb uses uart 1 some flight controllers share the data line this is why hd zero had issues with being on uart 1 so swap it to anyone other than 3 and 2 and your good so 4 5 6 7 should be good since 1 2 usb uses and 3 is for your serial etc reciever and the rest are negotiable

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Před rokem

      I have not suggested turning off USB MSP. Tell me where I said that ?
      Secondly you would never be bricked. Even if you did turn off usb MSP you could just re flash the flight controller in DFU mode.
      However at no point have I said turning off the USB MSP. Your saying something that’s not correct

      @@MadRC you said turn on msp on uart 1 second you do that notice that msp browns out or turns off on usb msp you can only use one msp either usb or the little controller thingie your talking about.. and i saw a video some guy did a while back ago where he proved once he swapped it to the first gen one that his device failed then he couldn't go back why because you need to be able to go into betaflight to do so and how though usb or the device and if the device fails then your screwed because no way to access betaflight.. so you bascially cancel being able to plug a usb cable into it... and using uart 1-2 uses msp when me and the guys over at discord were testing the hdzero on inav i was one of the guys who had trouble with msp with hd zero on uart 1 and 2 and i found out that both are the usb line they share and cause problems.. just a side note but i do know once you swap over and something happens that your done for thats why its best to just leave well enough alone no one needs to access betaflight in the feild for pids your smart audio capable drone you can do it in your goggles if you really want wireless speedy bee makes a 745 aio board with it installed already and does not swap msp over to the wireless when in use dont know how they do it but you can still use usb not at same time but you wont have the issue of going crap now i cant get back into betaflight and im screwed
      prove me wrong try it on a board your willing to sacrifice swap msp then just disconnect the power to the little bt device and plug in usb and see if you can access beta flight if you cant it proves my theory if not ill take my words back.. its just something i saw on a video that a guy proved like over a year ago when these things came out i have the first gen one i tossed it in the trash after i saw his video not trying to sway anyone just trying to make sure no one looses their controller.. and that side story thats how i know msp uses uart 1 and 2 it shares them 3 is for your rx and the rest for other stuff but maybe if you use uart 1 0r 2 it wont have issues with the usb thing im talking about but do a test i would but i dont have a board im willing to sacrifice now

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Před rokem

      @@jerrypatterson55 I’m sorry but your completely wrong. You can turn on MSP on any UART ports. It has zero affect on USB. Your seeing something that’s not happing. USB is not remotely affect by this or any thing like this. I don’t know what your being told or seeing but regardless of what’s connected you will always be able to connect via usb. I don’t even know where your seeing the USB turn off as that’s not happing.
      USB is greyed out as I’m actually connected to it via PC. That’s nothing that’s caused by this module.
      ExpressLRS receives will have this same functionality soon as well and again none of this is affecting the usb.
      If the unit was to random fail just reboot the fc and connect on USB. It can also be used on any UART.

      @@MadRC ok do this right now... disconnect or cut the power wire from this bt adaptor thing now plug in a usb cable and try to acess betaflight.. you wont be able too.. why because you turned it off in the configurator this is what im talking about.. just try it you cant screw it up since you have a working bt adaptor just plug it back in.. but what happens when your flying and it ripps off your drone and you cant find it or it fails then you wont be able to ever again acess the usb cable to configure it again i dont know how speedy bee does it with their boards with it built in it must have a auto switch over function or not use msp ... and i do know that the usb cable is on uart 1 and 2 when i had issue with my hd zero the discord group and i tested it and i found that if i removed it and used another uart other than 3.. so i would put this bt dongle thing on uart 4 use uart 5 for your vtx and 6 for your gps and 7 esc...... im not trying to bullshit or steer anyone wrong... so prove me wrong i wont trust any outside dongle device that tells you to switch of msp on usb to use it on uart 1 this is swapping over control of the usb functionality to this little device and if it fails you never ever again will be able to acess your flight controller basically your screwed
