The reason rent is high is because of the rise in house prices like they went from 10k in the 90s to over 100k and in order for landlords to not loose money and try to make break even rent prices have to increase aswell

This is me in Florida right now. Central Florida is in a rental crisis. A 2 bed is going for as much as 2k a month. Lord help us. I never thought I would be searching how to live in a garage.
Seattle's even worse a 2br is $2,200-3,300. A 1br is $1600-2500!! No one who works 9-5 can even afford to live in the city.
Her garage- studio would rent for at least $1800-2300 in a very upscale neighborhood!

I lived on the streets at one stage. Now I have a nice home. That I guess some people would call privileged. I did work for it thro. I did sacrifice some of my family time when my kids wore young to do this. So I wouldn't call it privilege myself but I would call it security.

I mean, there's nothing wrong living in a garage. I got 3 other siblings and we only got a 3 bedroom house. So my parents decided to close up the garage and turn it into another bedroom. If you come look at it it doesn't even look like a garage it looks a lot more like a room. They even added new floor and roofing. Glad that lady has at least a roof over her head.

I lived with my mom ( who was going to 4 chemos a week to treat her cancer) , grandma, and 3 other siblings for 4 years in a garage. it was so stressful, i erased that period of my life from my memory, and only just remembered those 4 years with this video.

Stupid haters. My mom lived in a garage as a single parent with my half-brother when he was a baby in the '70s. They were safe, comfortable, and the family owning the house were kind to them. They were actually happy there and to this day speak fondly of that little garage. You don't need much to survive or at least be content.

I have videos on my channel of the hardships of the "Bay Area". Its just where you choose to live, and knowing the cost of living in the Bay Area. I took intitiative and took a second job, sold my Condominium and moved to an area with a cheaper cost of living.
I spend $850 on a 2bd 2bth townhouse, so 1000+ for a garage not including utilities is not the best deal. If I had the money I would help someone like her to move to a lower cost of living area.
@@becky_1919 well not all of us live on the cheap side of town lady. Back when i lived in la i stayed in a remodeled garage almost exaclty like this one in North Hollywood for 800$ a month. And it was fantastic, and significantly cheaper than the surrounding apartments and a much better location that say south central. She can obviously move to a cheaper part of town if she wants to and get a much better deal for her money she just chooses not to.

Utter respect is what I have this mother who's obviously endeavouring her uttermost to provide for her children, she should be commended not criticised.

I Am Daisy Barco California so pricey, last year I helped my friend moved from California to Texas because she couldn't deal with the expenses. $1,100 for a studio. Here in Texas he can get one bedroom apartment for $600

It's not easy living alone within itself let alone adding kids on top of that! I respect the hell out of her!!
I think she's doing great with the hand she's been dealt! What I can't believe is the hatred! Whatever happened to people who pitched in and helped? If I were there and had the resources, I'd jump right in and help anyway I could! I love people, I'm crazy about kids and I've always loved helping! Would the people who're finding fault be happier if she were out on the street with those babies?!
At least her kids have a roof over their head and they not homeless on the street
