Many of you have requested ASMR style content from me in the past, I hope this video brings you some joy. Working with the projector noise was a significant challenge.

Wishing you luck!
thank you so much for this video Tibees.
Happy New Year, Toby!!
this is amazing
All of us who went through school during the age of the overhead projector loved the hum, the darkness, the soft light, the squeaky sound of the markers writing on the transparencies.
No I didn't I still wanted to leave.
Yesssss! At least, it was perfect until the loud kid in the back screams
Yes! Can relate
It's still around in alot of schools :D
Never realized how that has affected my taste in asmr
Cant believe you got access to Germanys most modern classroom
Your ASMR soft talking is outstanding. Always knew it! ASMR pros better brace themselves ;)
thank you so much!!
I am not a native speaker, what is ASMR?
@@anteeko read this video's description
@@liandli Ok thanks, I don't understand the relation with the video?
@@anteeko u asked “what is ASMR?” right? in the description she put the link where u can read what is ASMR (wikipedia) sooo that's why i told u to read this video's description :)
Yes I think your accent and soft voice already lend themselves to ASMR. So please continue to do more of the same because a lot people that start doing intentional ASMR lose something by whispering too much when their natural voice was fine
Totally agreed
Same here :)
Dude you’re absolutely right. I watch her because the videos are interesting but also very relaxing. I would be somewhat disappointed if her channel turned into intentional ASMR stuff.
Her accent does the opposite for me. Reminds me of seller colonialism and genocide
Besides the math, which is great, I really appreciate your efforts to mix it up a bit with different video formats. This one, the Get Ready with Me, the Bob Ross, the ones with all the animations, the historical ones - don't think your efforts have gone unnoticed! Way to keep it fresh, Thx for being you!
Oh my. If I had this kind of math classes at school, l would be a "math genius" nowadays. This is so, sooo good.
Indeed
Seriously, totally agree.
math in school is nothing
@@FelixMBlume "math in school is nothing"
...while "math at school" are just basics...
No you'd fall asleep lol
Oh my god core memory unlocked. It was impossible to stay awake whenever one of those was in use during class...and now there's an ASMR video combining the two. THANK YOU!!!
I'm a Turkish student whom is also preparing for the YKS exam. I think it's a lovely coincidence of you to explain the solutions of two Geometry questions in detail while I was searching for their answers lol. I didn't have in mind before I clicked onto this video though :Dd
Thanks a lot!
ne yaptın hocam neredesin
Your voice is strangely comforting, it makes me want to sleep
Lol that's what ASMR does
Yaah...nice voice😁
Agree
This was very nostalgic for me. I remember feeling ASMR tingles for the first time in elementary school during a soft-spoken lesson on an overhead projector just like this. I would love a whole series on this!!
Same here
It was sometimes Soo hard to not fall asleep after PE in classes like that. Projector background noise with a soft spoken and kind teacher created an environment that I struggled to stay awake in
It is a great feeling when math makes you smile. Came across this video with the goal of falling asleep while learning a little bit along the way. Instead, I found myself watching the whole thing and subscribing for more content when I'm not trying sleep.
There is something about ASMR were someone is passionate about what they are doing that make the ASMR so much better. The people that just read some sort of script feels so fake and disingenuous. The audio is absolutely fantastic as well in this video, it feels like I'm back in class or sitting with a tutor. Love this style of ASMR super relaxing and calming helps me unwind after a long day and reminisce on my high school days.
i graduated high school in 2015 in aus. we used these projectors sometimes, rarely, but whenever we did it felt similar to when the teacher used to roll out the big tv (and VHS player) on wheels - you'd feel like you had been taken back in time. i just can't get enough of this old tech and the asmr crossover is godlike. thanks tibees :)
I find it strangely comforting to hear that this old tech was still so recently being used in schools 😊
@@esquilax5563 yeah it was honestly so great. my favourite piece piece of tech was from primary school though, it was the loud automatic pencil sharpener that was glued to the teacher's desk :)
@@esquilax5563 I hardly saw overhead projectors used in my time in high school from the year 2000 to 2004 in The Netherlands, which is fun to see how people have experienced them being used so much later in time.
Around 2008 or 2009 all of the overhead projectors got replaced by short-throw videoprojectors projecting against smartboards...
They display TV, computers, and you can use them as "regular" whiteboards, all be it with them lagging behind finger movements a LOT.
A whole lot different from how in elementary school watching TV required the teacher to find the right cable to put in the output port, or with videotapes, having to have a teacher that knows how to set the TV up correctly.
29 years old, and I forgot how much I loved Maths. Thank you for reuniting me with one of my old passions, and thank you for such good tingles! ♡♡
Hi Toby!
I'm a student of grade 9 and I'm so interested in physics and astronomy whenever I watch your videos about physics and astronomy those videos teach me something new every time when I watch them!!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us you're my favorite youTuber!
Very relatable
..
Excellent. I can finally fall asleep in math class without fear of detention.
Mathematics ASMR is my dream. Keep doing these
Amazing video! I used to love it when a teacher would bust out the projector! The dark room, the buzzing sound, the writing with the markers, the changing of the plastic pages- ahh it’s all so nostalgic and relaxing! And then your voice on top of all that makes it even better!👏🏽😍💯
Lights off, warm glow, no better way to learn! Brings back memories. Thanks so much!
Oh man, I've been wishing for ASMR stuff from you for so long! Your content always motivates and calms me down during studies. Astro studies are fun but also nerve-wracking :')
Exact same thought
Soft spoken is one of my favourite asmr genre, please keep doing this
I must say you caught me Toby!!! I though it was from one of my ASMR subscriptions but I should say this is one of your greatest ideas in 2022 and a gift for all of us who follow you! 🤩
It's great to see that a maths channel is gaining a lot of traction with the viewers. Well done, you're doing a splendid service, keep at it.
I always thought you'd be a great fit for ASMR, as i watch your content and ASMR regularly, so I'm glad you've dipped into the genre! Wonderful voice, and hopefully I'll be able to focus my brain enough to pay attention during this presentation while I relax :)
The warm lightning of the projector added a nice touch to it. Also, your voice is already perfect for ASMR. Well done.
I'm so glad ASMR has got to a point where anyone can basically do it and it's not even that weird of a concept
Just like math lol
This reminds me of elementary school when my soft spoken teacher was prepping us for ministry exams with a projector. I dont think I was aware of exam stress at that time, but I’m sure calm ambiance favors for better learning! Great video.
YAY! You're officially getting into the asmr world, this is amazing!!
Oh man what a throwback! My 8th grade math teacher had one of these in his classroom and used it every day to teach us math, and it was one of my favorite classes. Thanks for the great video!
I enjoy this method of teaching. Also, I never heard the projector noise at all. Thanks Tibees. Happy New Year.
One of the best recommendations ever. Thank you for going through with this and I hope it won't be the last time we'll be getting this type of content from you!!
Ooh. My kittens were excited to see themselves at the end :-) I remember laserprinting powerpoint slides onto transparencies and bringing them in a box to present on an overhead projector at conferences. Even fancier was when you had the transparencies mounted on a cardboard mat.
This took me back to being a kid again, in the best way. Reminded me how relaxing those projectors were and what it feels like to love math.
The Joy of Mathematics videos serve as great ASMR for me! I particularly enjoy the logarithm and Euler's Identity videos from the series. Learning maths while getting the tingles is perfect.
ahhh yes Toby! I've been genuinely watching and falling asleep to your videos for a long time now (not because they're boring lol!), your voice is so relaxing. Thanks for all the amazing content!
I'm not a fan of asmr usally but oh my gosh the overhead projector just brought back so much nostalgia and comfort I didn't think was possible. Would really love to see more please.
I do want part 2 of the ASMR video! You are great, Tibees! Thank you
I remember watching my teachers write on those plastic/reusable clear sheets on the overhead projector and if I really liked their handwriting, I used to get tingles from reading it. It’s strange, I would read their writing and the voice in my head would give me tingles; so thank you for this very nostalgic experience.
that folding the numbers in half thing is incredible, it's so simple once you visualize it
5AM, and I'm headed back to bed. Thanks for the "chill session".
Takes me back to the '60s when rock concerts used similar projectors with colourful gels toward enhancing one's psychedelic experience.
Hope you'll explore more uses for yours.
This was absolutely lovely and I'd love to see the part two down the line if you feel up for doing so
I’ve been having a really hard time falling asleep lately and this is so perfect!! The math is perfect because I’m really not interested in it so my brain doesn’t try to latch onto what you’re saying and I get the chance to completely relax and just not think at all. I had the best naps of my life in math class back in high school, the sound of the projector is so soothing and also reminds me of being in a cold classroom. Also your voice is one of those unique voices that can sway me to sleep instantly even when you’re talking about things I find interesting. Thank you so much for your efforts, you’re an angel.
i love this SO MUCH. your voice is so soft and you rlly captured the asmr vibe!!! i love maths so much too and seeing that these questions were for students of around my level, but challenging enough for me to have a good think about them was perfect. you also explained them so well and i understood everything. tysm for this
😱 I’ve been working on my math + asmr channel for years and here you are doing such an amazing job!! It brings me so much joy to see people enjoying math in this way. I do hope there will be a part 2 and 3 and 4…. :)
I just subbed your channel.
@jtgary8118 I'm drawn to your name. My DOB is 181181
I get full body tingles watching and listening to ASMR but it's hard to find tingles this good
Your voice and the way you project yourself is so soothing. Maybe it doesn't suit your ambitions, but after watching your channel for about a year I've come to believe you might be the best teacher EVER. I imagine the whole classroom would instantly shut up and listen, and how comfortable everyone would feel to engage you with on topic questions. Thanks for all your good work!
This was one of my earliest memories of experiencing ASMR, love this!!!
I remember being a kid with these projectors, I miss those days. Thank you for reminding me.
ASMR and math, a weird combination, but interesting nonetheless!
I've been watching videos similar to this for a while to fall asleep during my exam weeks. I'm sad I cannot find more of them tbh. I wish someone did an ASMR video with L'Hospitals ;-;
I think its a really neat combination! :)
Why is it weird?
both make me sleepy so its a win win
The video we've been waiting for! And your voice is perfect for ASMR!!
ahhh! this is very exciting ive wanted an asmr video from you for a long while now, your voice is so soothing! thank you for this amazing content
petition for tibees to make nothing but asmr projector math videos forever 😌😌😌 this is so calming and it gives me such a nice throwback to old school memories. thanks for making math so enjoyable :))
Your normal videos are already like ASMR, thought~
Your voice has always been soothing, and soft talk asmr is my fav
u are just the most wonderful person. being in ur virtual presence is so calming. great teacher too! :)
Soft spoken is perfect, especially yours. Not all of us who experience asmr like the whispers but more like this, reminds me of getting lectures back in school.
OHH I actually now know what they pythagorean triple is and I don't even feel exhausted. Usually I don't learn that quickly! I think the black and white visuals with the calm demeanor made it possible for me shut out everything else that usually distracts me.
So, please more ASMR on basic (?) maths! :) :)
YESS I’ve been looking for overhead projector asmr for ages, I’m only 6 months late but finally found it. It’s such a good idea, it was always a relaxing time in school.
This is perfect! I simply loved this format
my first asmr experience was back in primary school in math class where one of the students explained to me how to solve the problem in a calm manner and i was so shocked by the tingling sensation i felt that i totally missed her whole explanation and had to ask her again. always been bad and hated maths so i always avoid it as much as i can but i gotta say im kinda getting the same vibe i used to feel back then. thanks
Wow ASMR with mathematics! This is great Tibees! Thanks for sharing such a unique yet great video!
Same applied to me in school. I saw these in elementary school 2009-2015. These were quickly phased out about 2012 for me. For the next 5 years I had to adjust to the smart boards and interactive projectors.
Nice to see you've made a new video to kick off 2022!
I have misophonia and am normally driven to distraction by anything remotely ASMR, but you have one of the rare voices that not only doesn't make me want to drive rusty nails through my eardrums, but I actually actively enjoy listening to!
i have misophonia as well. asmr helped a lot as exposure therapy (with a therapist. i would not have done what i did alone. listening to people eat gummy stuff made me want to bleed, and i still get very triggered, but hearing it through a relaxing lens did make it slightly more tolerable). i hope you are able to find relief soon- such a horrible and misunderstood mental phenomenon
Hi, I'd really want a part 2 :). I enjoyed watching.
yes… it was very calming and nice!! please make this a serie ☺️☺️
A wholesome,relaxing,educational,happy asmr video.thank you
More ASMR math please!
I enjoyed it. I used to learn with overhead projectors so it was nostalgic. the questions werent crazy hard so i could understand what was being talked about. thank you so much!
I saw your shorts a week or so ago and knew that soft voice with excellent enunciation and slight accent would be perfect for ASMR
I can already feel my brain being released from the grip of it's headache
You ALWAYS are ASMR. Your voice is ASMR
I saw these projectors first time at MIT ✨✨✨
The overhead projector - brings me back into my school days....
...Toby - I hope you have a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2022!
thank you Toby for the great video I never completely understood the concept of the parallel lines question but have always encountered it in my studies, it is such a great relief to finally get it out from the back of my head
She has finally embraced her true self
mathematics won't get you to heaven.
Absolutely brilliant! I'm hoping this series is wildly successful and extends to cover subject through differential calculus. Thank you Professor Tibees!
This video is great. Your universe sandbox videos have always been near perfect for relaxation
She has a shocking resemblance to Emma Watson.🤔
Your voice is very calming and it helps me concentrate, would love to see more ASMR style videos :)
I absolutely adore your soft spoken!! Just discovered you via this being an asmr vid, hope you make more in future!! Subbed just in case 🤗 brill!
Thank you sooo much for this! I couldn’t believe it when I saw. Your voice belongs in ASMR. Also soft speaking > whispering any day for me😍 so I loved it
Love this! Do one with orbital mechanics! Space math + asmr would rock!
I already use your videos for ASMR, your voice is super great for it!
Fun fact, i actually used to watch some of your past videos as asmr. I never commented it but I was really hoping you would do this type of videos in your own way like you did in this one, really enjoyed it
You've put so much effort into this, its amazing!
Another great idea from you Tibees. You've had me hooked since your "...in the style of Bob Ross" videos. I remember very poor school history lessons taught by overhead projector. The teacher had a set of pre-written (his handwriting) transparent sheets which he just placed on the projector and read out loud, then go to the next one. We were expected to write it down in our notebooks, if we could stay awake. But you are using it the way it should have been done.
thank you so much!! this was literally one of my favorite triggers i had a soft spoken teacher in elementary who used this and for some reason it was so relaxing to me omg this is amazing
Had a teacher that actually spoke like this... never learned a thing but little did I know at the time that would be the best sleep of my life.
This is phenomenal. So, so relaxing and yet incredibly interesting.
i’m a fan of this!! it’s a lot of high school igcse nostalgia for me. thanks so much!
oh wow found this in your back catalogue.. sorry been away and missed a lot of your videos.. iv been in to ASMR for some years, and i knew when i first found your channel many years ago you'd be great at this... ill be saving this for when i get home and bed.. thankyou and at last !:)
I wrote a comment yesterday about you doing asmr because of your soft voice... you've got a new subscriber. You have no idea how much I will appreciate this video. I'm so happy right now!
I discovered you on Tiktok and just found your CZcams channel. I’m so happy to see you doing an ASMR video because I find your voice so relaxing. Plus I just really enjoy science and math!
I primarily watch your videos for that ASMR effect it has on me. Continue doing more ASMR specials!
I had a professor in my first year of college who would call powerpoint presentations ''transparencies''. To this very day, I had no idea what she meant and I never looked it up honestly since I assumed it would be another out of fashion word for projector. I had no idea it worked this way, it's quite ingenious!
I could listen to you reading straight from a dictionary, as i find your voice and your accent so nice and relaxing to listen to. It does hit differently watching you solving maths problems though, in the best way possible. I hope you do more like this!
You already have a soft wonderful voice. Its one of the reasons I watch your videos. I like the subject matter but you make them a joy to listen to.
I had a soft-spoken thermodynamics and fluid mechanics teacher who was teaching with this kind of projector, back in my first year of college. It was some of the best naps I've had. Good times ahah. This video sure brings back memories and probably nice naps as well.
Really nice, I also found it extremely relaxing when my teachers used overheads, opaque projectors, old style 16mm projectors and the most relaxing...photographic slide projectors.
