"It seems technology, is getting close to perfection." I hate to be that guy, but perfection should be a moving target, never to be caught. It can always be better. The only limit is your imagination and ability to try.
Why doesn’t this have more views? The presentation was incredible. But here’s the biggest challenge for Disney. Bringing a animal to life through being a audio animatronic. Image Simba walking through the park and interacting with children and adults. A new level of magic will be possible
That's not even funny. Not just animations for live shows, but what they did with princess leia, and Plutarch in Mocking jay, we can barley tell the difference between animation and real life! Just look at The Lion King 2019 It looks so real, it's incredible!
Animatronics are what most modern robotics must have to become more lifelike, and it's starting to become a reality more and more. Will there come a time though, where animatronics wont be as impressive because of this possibility?
Animatronics fascinate me for many reasons. The thing I can most compare them to are watercolours. I hate watercolours, because I don't know how to control them. Both are affected by the already preexisting laws of our world. The pigment swirls with the movement of the water, and the skin on an animatronic sags with the gravity of our earth. Each is real and is planted in our reality. They don't need to be simulated in a digital means. Animatronics have an indescribable realism and grip to them that CG just can not replicate.
Your videos are truly some of the best. So professional and you have so much knowledge about Disney. Love it! Top notch quality. I just can’t say enough. Great great job!!!
Great production quality on this one. I've been on a Disneyland video binge the last few months, since taking my son for his first time in February, and I only wish there were more videos like this on CZcams. Also, as a designer myself, I love the perspective from a designer's point of view. Found you through randomly searching for Disneyland podcasts on Spotify. Anyway… Keep 'em coming.!
We actually have the technology to make flying cars. But if people keep crashing on the ground, imagine what absolute shitshow actual flying cars could be!
I sometimes gripe that Disney is taking over the world. Then I see things like this that they make and I have to come to the conclusion that it deserves that pedestal. Daaamnnn, it's amazing.
Great job Mark! This is a tremendous amount of work. Just the research alone to find all the historical footage is huge. But on top of that you did an excellent job of putting together a lively edit (including "This Guy." and "Whatever this guy is." LOL). Informative, interesting and wicked impressive for a FIRST ATTEMPT!! Looking forward to more!
To all young children here: Scott Cawthon didn’t invent animatronics. He made a video game including animatronics. Animatronics in Chuck E. Cheese’s etc are unable to get off stage due to their weight. As of now no “real” Freddy Fazbear’s pizza locations exist, Disney was not inspired by fnaf. Thank you :)
@lazer tag oh look you are sooooooo mean aren't ya? Yeah you are a Biggie boy now! Anyway, do you want me to carry you or can you walk yourself all the way back home sunny?

Great video mark. You should be really proud of this piece. I love how you've taken the storytelling that made you fall in love with Disney and told that story to us with a look tot the future.
If Disney and Hanson robotics combine. The technological advancements of ai that many probably think will happen near 2040 will be here in less than 2 years.
Love this video! I’m all in for animatronics and AI, as long as it doesn’t turn into a Westworld scenario. Also, is it weird that I now want you to narrate Wildlife documentaries?
Great video! Started listening to your Disneyland for Designers podcast thru Spotify yesterday. I’m a California college kid that grew up on Disney twice a year. Looking forward to more in depth content!
It's pretty incredible to see the intricate inner workings of these animatronics. I'm inspired at how the Disney imagineers are able to blend art, craft and engineering so beautifully. Thanks for sharing Mark. Well done!
Wonder how long it is till someone constructs an actual, walking, lifelike animatronic thoo...? It’ll be a awhile but I can see someone putting in the time and effort to do so and actually make FNaF real lmao

And People thought Chucky Cheese was frightening. OH they didnt even seen the Disney Animatronics who have a Shape of an Human and if Programmed Correctly could start killing Humans and try being innocent by talking back with a very Human like Voice.
I wonder how some of the animatronics might do if looking like Lego Minifigs or some Lego Hero Factory an Bionicle characters? That would be pretty cool to see.
Seriously got the chills when you mentioned robots roaming the park. The shear breadth of possibilities would be mind bending especially with the full interaction. We live in a sci-fi world man.
These are spectacular but lately Disney has cheapened their attractions with lighting and screens. The Rat Tat Touie could have been so cool if they had antamontronics! Have not seen any new ones! Disney needs to keep up the magic but it is slipping away!!!!
Why are people talking about fnaf? I get this video has to do with animatronics but we are not talking about pizza places. (yet) watch some chucky cheese vids or something.
Dook LaRue 82 but restaurant animatronic entertainment is significantly less complex and evolved than Disney’s animatronics so its more interesting to watch these videos than chuck e cheese ones.

3:06 This is when the animatronics start for y'all
You don’t need actors anymore. Just make a hyper realistic robot and “credit” the actor it was based on haha
So we can have Tom Hanks for the rest of human history
