  • This video will walk you through installing a front strut tower bar (also called a strut tower brace, strut bar, or strut brace) on your 2018 to 2022 Subaru Crosstrek or 2017-2023 Impreza and WRX. While the video shows how to install a Cusco branded brace, it also includes information about other brands, so you can either follow along or know what's available on the market. Remember to read your installation instructions, as there will definitely be information in them you need to know!
    0:00 • Unwrapping The Intro
0:17 • Some Assembly or Disassembly Required (Maybe)
    0:29 • Fresh Fit
0:46 • You're Nut Gonna Want To Skip This Step
1:03 • Move The Brace Into Place
    1:18 • Don't Squeeze Your Hose
1:28 • You're Nut Gonna Want To Skip This One Either
1:49 • Brace For No Impact (Use a Torque Wrench Instead)
    2:15 • A Really Apeeling Strut Bar
Note: There are a few different places these bars can end up, depending on the brand. If you have a top-mount intercooler, you may need to more carefully consider which brand you go with. The Perrin Performance option appears to be the option closest to the firewall/back of the engine bay, at least at the time this video went public on CZcams.

Perrin Performance Strut Tower Brace, Black: subimods.com/products/perrin-...
Note: These Subimods urls are not affiliate links, they are just the vendor I bought mine from, with the Cusco strut bar link being the exact product I used. They are based in Connecticut, so if you're local to them, you can pick it up in person like I did.
Fun fact: You could actually buy these Subaru Crosstreks with dealer-installed "flexible" STi strut tower braces. The flex may have allowed the body to flex more than these aftermarket options, but wouldn't have had as strong of an effect on the handling, I speculate. Crosstrek Part Number: E4010FL001

CZcams found me a gem. Love the concept of your channel and website. Throw a "Like & Subscribe" animated graphic into the most replayed parts to help boost your viewership. I arrived here/was recommended because I work on my own '18 Impreza.

I like the changes it made, and it seems most noticeable on fast curves that have some bumps in them. I'm going to have a follow-up video on strut bars in general, and maybe a review of the particular part.

I plan on making a full video explaining that, but in short, it is supposed to firm up the front of the unibody, particularly at the strut towers. That should improve the handling, but in specific ways.

2023 Crosstrek should be no different.
