  • Werkz Holsters owner Shan presents all you need to know about subcompact light-bearing holsters and answers the most frequently asked questions.
➡️ Nylon and leather holsters are malleable and can accommodate more than one type of firearm and light combination while Kydex holsters are designed to fit a specific gun and light making retention and re-holstering a bigger priority than general comfort.
Shan discusses the design decisions behind Werkz Holsters, how they function, ways to modify them without sacrificing the integrity of the design, and an overall view of the differences between standard holsters and subcompact light-bearing holsters.
➡️ From adjusting and accessorizing to the functionality of the design, this video has everything you need to know about subcompact light-bearing holsters.

I agree. When it comes to firearms, the training, safety etc. it’s mostly common sense. However, I’m astounded by the amount of people who do not possess basic knowledge. So it’s very important that new gun owners are educated so they don’t make us look bad! Lol

I am no holster expert, but I am glad my 2nd holster and first hard holster was a Werkz M6 IWB. It fits my S&W M&P 2.0 with an Olight baldr s and Holosun SCS perfectly.
The only thing I may do is look for a longer claw. At 5'8" and 235lb I tend to push the holster down when I sit and the claw tends to push below my belt. I wear my holster in the lowest position already for comfort and concealment.
I can't fault the holster for my physique aka dun lapper pushing my pistol down.
The retention is perfect. The comfort is very good. The concealment is very good.
I did a VNSH holster first for comfort, but I didn't feel comfortable reholstering, except with a thumb safety on. I still use a thumb safety for reholstering, but I would reholster a pistol without a thumb safety into the M6. Not the VNSH.

I’ve modified every holster I’ve ever purchased. I really like my new Werx 43x MOS/TLR Sub. You’ve fixed a lot of common problems.
That said, I’ve already ordered some different claws bc the Werx claw doesn’t work well enough for me.
Also, the mag caddy could be more adjustable. I custom made a flex point and a custom low profile clip. The flex point allows me to position the mag a little wider and not affect the effectiveness of the claw.
Lastly, I swapped out the main holster clip for a wider one that is easier to operate and provides more stability.

Are there any safety concerns when carrying with a wider trigger guard area on the holster to accommodate light bearing pistols?

    • @WerkzHolsters
      @WerkzHolsters  Před 2 lety +3

Good question. I would say that the same safety concerns exist as with all pistols -- you don't want something to manipulate the trigger inadvertently. This is true for a light bearing holster. It's also true for non-light-bearing floppy nylon holsters, sticky holsters, "worn in" leather holsters, and even the professional level leather holsters. The bigger the light, the more opening there is. Light have become common among professionals -- local PD, SWAT, military, federal, and even your local Sheriff department probably has guys using lights. Those professionals are probably running a X300 or TLR-1HL and a Safariland holster. You can get a lot of stuff in the holster opening, including even seat belt buckles. I think it's a matter of being aware that the potential exist and mitigating it. Be aware of stuff that could get in the holster -- whether you're drawing, reholstering, or at rest. Note that non-light bearing holsters are at risk during drawing and reholstering. And for those who cannot get used to the idea of seeing the trigger, then perhaps you should consider not running a light.

I wanted to share some feedback and a support request regarding my recent experience using the M6 holster with the P365 firearm and TLR-7 Sub light attachment.
Safety Concern: I've noticed that it's possible to pull the trigger while the gun is still holstered. This is a significant safety concern for me, regardless of what you say in this video.
Fit and Security: The gun and light attachment do not securely snap into the holster as expected. This raises concerns about the reliability of the holster during use.
Customer Service Inquiry: I submitted a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for both the gun and the light four days ago but haven't received any response. I'm eager to resolve these issues and would appreciate an update on the status of my RMA request.
