They change the OEM wiper in 2017 for the rear. If you have had a changed, his method may work on an aftermarket wiper. On some of the OEM this will break your wiper. If his method feels like you’re putting too much pressure then try this method. Lift the blade slightly off the glass grab the end of the wiper blade and pull like you’re trying to slide it out. You’ll be pulling to the right. You will hear a pop if it is an OEM blade. You can then after the pop, pried off like he shows . The OEM blade has a hook on the blade that requires you pulling it to the right to free it. You can also look this method up as a 2018 rear wiper blade installation for an escape. They should show you this method.
Its not centered on the plastic cover. The new blade should stick out a little more than an inch. If you are able to look at the back of the plastic cover(which you should be able to), you will see exactly what I speak of
Thank you! I never would have figured it out without this video. A. Stupidest wiper design ever. B. Worst instructions on the wiper blade box ever. She' all fixed now though!
Thanks for the video....I was scared I was going to break mine until i watched your video...awesome!! This worked for my 2014 Ford Escape as well.....
Awesome! Happy to help
So very simple, once you know how. Thanks for the video.
Dude! I'm having a hard time with both hands. You did it with one hand.
Appreciated, removed the small plastic part covering a nut, the nut got rusted and seized was trying to remove it….saved me lots of time and effort.
Glad to hear I could help

Is this the same way for 2016 ford escape?
I’m not 100% sure but I believe that yes it is. From my research it looks like they both use the same wiper so the install should be the same
i know im 2 years late but this video is the same for 2013-2019 escape
Knowing my luck I’d break something lol
If you try this it will break.
I have video evidence that if you do this it doesn’t break.
