Thank you! After 3000km without shifting I finally know how to do it! Already thought I bought a fixie
For real though ???
Wahyu Brillian no it’s a joke xD
Haha you got me 😁
😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 This is funny!
my dumbass did that for 126 km LMAO
FINALLY!!! It’s properly explained in a detailed and concise manner with simultaneous videos of the crank and shifters. I just saw three different videos before that took 2-3x longer to explained these tips with only one camera angle. For a noob like me this video cleared up any confusion I had. Thank you!
you needed an explanation? Ive been riding bikes since I was 6! never needed any explanation!
@@weekendpartier nobody cares
Same here
hahaha....when I first started riding I went straight from MTB to a Tri-bike. When I first got on a road I realized I had no idea how to shift because I always used the end bar shifters on my Tri-bike. I also didn't want to ask anyone cause I had been riding for a while so I had to come home and watch a video like this
I try to remember this way:
1. For shifting. Big levers shift to big cogs and small lever shifts to small cogs.
2. Front cogs: Big/hard/fast and small/easy/slow
3. Rear cogs: Big/easy/slow and small/hard/faster
I’ve watched a few videos on this topic and this was by far the most clear and concise. Thanks!
Excellent video. I have inherited my son's Specialized bike for the weekend and I am so excited to get on it & RIDE NOW THAT I know how to shift the bloody gears!
Thank you! This helped me a lot! I've recently changed from my old bike where I shifted intuitively and can't read the numbers on the shifters anymore and my new bike only says high and low and has completely different shifters, so I needed some help to understand what actually happens down there.
I bought my first Trek, an FX 2. This video was helpful. Thanks!!
This video is awesome. Helped me a lot to understand very basics. Great job mate.
My God!!! i Love how Direct to the Point this Tutorial on Gear Shifting on Road Bikes!!! Thanks a Lot Trek!!!
GOD BLESS US ALL!!!😊🌄😇💖💯
I just booked Trek Domane AL 3 and I didn’t know how to shift gears in cycle so I know in super bikes but new to cycling with especially gears one so this is really easy to understand and thank you so much for making this video and it’s very helpful for all of us so appreciate your help and support trek ❤👍🤝🙏😁
The best video for gear changing 👍👍👍
Short and sweet (easy to understand). Thank you!
I was very confused on how to shift on my roadbike. I somewhere read the advice and found it very helpful: I now use the big ring for flats and downhil until the 3rd biggest cog on the rear. Once it gets too hard to maintain my cadence I switch to the small "Moutain Chainring" on the front. I replaced my front chainring for a 46 and my rear cassette is 11-34. wich gives me all the nice little gear changes in a speedrange, i actually ride (im not a strong rider and not racing at all. just recreational riding). I never saw the sense in having 2/3 of my gears wasted in speeds above 40km/h. When I reach that speed I usually roll down a hill.
Lol... Guess I should've asked some questions before leaving the bike shop with my first road bike today!!! 😂
Luckily I just rode around the block! I upgraded from an FX... I got down the road and realized I didn't know how the hell to get through my gears!!!!!!
Very helpful video!
Me too!
I just bought my bike and I didn't know how to go back to the gears. This video was absolutely useful, thank you.
Love this video. Really helpful!
The easiest video to understand! Thank you!
The best explanation out there, thank you
Good video - Concise yet informative.
Great short and sweet video :)

Most clear and precise ,thanks a lot ❤
Such a helpful video. Thanks.
Well explained. Thank you !
Excellent Concise and listenable !😉👏🤙😃🎉
Thank you so much this is really helpful!
Thank you! This was helpful.
OMG THANK YOU!!! Best part is seeing the hand movements with the shifting. I’m gonna watch like eight more times but 👍🏽 Whole lever= up to bigger chainring OR cassette (hard or easy); small baby lever, opposite 👌🏽
Very helpful! Thank you !!
Much needed explanation!
Very useful advice.
Gracias , great review 👏
That's what i looked for! Thank you!
A very good guide.
Thx, very informative. Which combanation of gears is best on a bumpy road with grass?
WOW! THANK YOU. I'm new to cycling 🎉
Awesome video!
Thank you For the Great Video!
Is double click on left shifts the Front Derailleur in all road bikes? Or is it only one click? Please let me know coz mine is set up as Two clicks for shifting.
Thank you!! I couldn’t understand why my chain would make a noise sometimes but now i get it, never cross chain 😂
the last time i used such a bike (and i still use it on the roll), the shifting was still on the descend frame pole :D
Wow thank you so much for this video so clear and concise amazing video
Wish I could get an answer to my question about what Women's Trek bike has a triple gear ring up front? My bike from 2006 had one plus it was my favorite color. Unfortunately someone stolen it. Looking to buy a new road bike. I live in mountain country.
Best video out
Could you tell me where to purchase the bike and gear furniture in the back ground. Very nice, I think my wife would not mind my bike and gear storage indoors if it was in a nice unit like the one shown here. Would appreciate letting me know where to find, thanks.
Thanks!
thank you , finally someone who explains it in american english
Good video for me. However it should state its for Shimano.
Video top.....
super thank u so much
Is there a way to tell when you’re cross-chained😊? I’m still learning gear shifts.
For anyone reading this that knows...Two Questions - 1. Should you ease off the pedals or stop pedaling for shifting on an eTap drivetrain? 2. Does Biggest front ring and smallest rear ring have some rubbing on the metal piece? i feel like i hear some rubbing. is that normal?
Hey guys. I’m hoping somebody can help me. I get that cross chaining should be avoided at all costs, but my question is can I be in the hardest gear in 1 and the 2nd easiest gear on the other?. So basically just shifting 1 gear before the extreme. Is this safe to do?
Not 100% OK, I personally avoid using the last two cogs.
So cadence is like my RPM. Cool
There is a lot of good Info here
Hi, for the cross chaining, means that easy gear at the front and hard gears at the rear?
Yep, basically opposites of each other. Big to small or small to big for the cogs the chain sits on which creates a hard angle for your chain.
Trek Bicycle thank you so much. Awesome video!
Is it difficult to write that it's for shimano in the heading?
I wish I have a road bike this x mas🥺🥺🥺
What about gripshift? 🤔
What about commonsense?? ;)
Don’t buy trek bikes
The durianrider... Woot
I just got a brand new bike…. Changed the left hand gear to the middle gear, 2, and a horrible noise started immediately
He must be Bruce campbell´s son!:D
Don't pedal backwards when shifting....
Thanks. I was only looking for 0:40-0:45.
My shifters are on the bottom rail
I'ld like to think of it as big and small... the big lever moves to the bigger cogs and the small lever moves to the smaller cogs.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR A GIVEAWAY 😃
i'm using sram
I prefer bottom tube shifter levers, they feel more reliable and easier to shift
Are you fucking kidding me?
For six years I was like a sick child. It was as if I looked out the window like other children playing with the ball but could not go with them. They invited me, but I pretended that it was more interesting for me to draw. This pain Smart Matrix. But these guys from Trek cured me. They got my legs back. I don't just play with everyone. Now the guys rolling the ball under my windows, watching on TV as I score! Want to score? Buy Trek!
Who are you?
🖕🏼TREK🖕🏼
SPEED baby, SPEED - all I want is SPEED!
※これはSHIMANOのシフターでの場合です。
SRAMやCampagnoloとは変速の仕方が異なります。
That’s for shimano, for sram and campagnolo is different
Jesus Enrique Rivera Tellez
I used shimano until changing my gear shimano to sram,
Sram is completely hard to adjust about controling
박지환 thanks for the tip.
@@user-vj3qi1ls4r The last time I used a pair of SRAM DoubleTap levers (note: It's also my first rodeo using a pair), no problems at all. Still haven't fully understood its mechanism though.
Same idea, campy uses the button and SRAM just goes back and forward
I want trek roadbike, that is my dream:((

These gear systems with the shifters on the brakes are clearly inferior to the ones preceding them. It's rare that technology regresses, but in this case it not only regressed it made a giant regression.
Doesn't the footage at 1:08 show somebody crosschaining?
Shifting gears for beginners
Title and description in German? But Video is in EN?! what happend?

I’m such an idiot. No matter how many times I watch this video I just don’t understand. Too many things to remember. I’m getting discouraged. Why tf can’t I grasp this concept.
