Very nice, lots of hard work. Have you ever watched a gardener called Charles Dowding? He's a no dig gardener , and it is very interesting. You don't dig the soil so it's easier for you, and the soil is healthier. He does put a lot of home made compost on to enrich the soil ☺
Thanks anna. Yes i have watched several of his videos. And enjoyed them. I'm planning to do some vegetable beds and was watching his cardboard and mound method. Might try it. I think someone mentioned no dig before. Was it you? Interesting concept.

Hi neringa. They did survive thank you, the area where i live came off quite lightly. The south of England was hit quite badly. Phew!
That looks very pretty. You are brave. I am a fan of Box - however my 15 year old box hedging which looked great was obliterated last year by the box caterpillar. I had always kept the box fluffy - wobbly - opened out the centre slightly but it still succumbed. I had to burn the lot! I have now turned to Pittosporums - bright green version which are looking good. But Box will always be my favourite.

Tried putting some box cuttings into a spare piece of ground to see if they take,if so it will be a very cheap hedge.
See in one of videos you have a like rope buxus hedge, is it difficult to cut into that shape?
@@roberthamilton2334 the knott is not difficult but does require time and patience. Essentially i grew a hedge all the same height. Then cut certain areas lower and left others higher. I got the design by goolgling 'eternal knot' images.

Yes mulch is fine also definitely. As deep as possible. 4 inches
