This really resonated with me i have working in the same health system for almost 40 yrs but have just realized the same. I need to work less and stop being used to work when it benefits them. Its time to put me first yes realized 30 yrs later.

I have been there dealing with negative people at work. My experience is the negative person usually leave because they have lost their control or they get fired for their infractions

For a minute I thought about quitting (4 ppl from my team already have - yet they keep trying to say she is not the 'cause)...but then I ran my numbers again and the numbers say I am less than 2 years away from paying off my house...I do not want this lady distracting me/taking away from/or throwing me off of my goals. I canNOT give her that much power.
@@FunandBudget just be careful because a moving goal post is a huge red flag. I dealt with that 3 years ago and it took a toll on mental health. I come first, so I let the job go.
@nlibby5549 - I agree...this is definitely psychological abuse - and to me it also says, I am building up a case to get rid of you...to that I say: Let NO weapon formed against me prosper.
I might have to step to HR on this one because it sounds like you are being singled out. But you right, I don't know if that would blow up anybody else's spot.
I ran it up the flag pole and cc'd HR on these issues...they keep giving me warm and fuzzy answers - essentially gaslighting me into thinking I'm being too sensitive or misreading the interactions. But I know what I know (which they won't give me answers for) and I feel what I feel (historically, we are a people who have dealt with and are dealing with decades of trauma).
Tinesha, you are going to be just fine because just listening to your thinking process shows that you are one strong sister. Stay blessed!!!

When I hear you speak on your point of attraction and listing positive aspects it makes me remember the book "Ask & It's Given by Ester by Abraham Hicks. If it's not broke, then don't fix it. Is what I say? I hate when new management come in trying to make changes instead of seeing how the flow is and adjust accordingly, especially if this towards a better direction. I'm at the lowest position in my job. However, I am very vocal and I will not lay down to any manager. I've been at my property for over 12 years. So any manager coming in? I will be an asset to at least let them know how things are ran. For the position that I in I'm a strong team member. I have been offered to move up numerous times but I don't care too. Sometimes you need a strong employee. In the background to help things run smoothly. I do have 3 other people on my team where we are in the same position and I make sure that we do. What we need to do so that way. The manager doesn't have to look over us every second and they attend to their assignments And I have been very successful with that.
Amen. I find that most times new managers come in and try to recreate what they are familiar with...the place they just left. In this persons case...the place was from over 5 years ago and the changes she wants reflects that. Its like, uh...thats how we did things SIX years ago.
@FunandBudget right it seems like she gonna be the one stressed out i highly doubt the uppers are putting any pressure on her otherwise you and your team wouldn't be doing as yall saw fit uppers had no problem with it she won't last long as she will see everyone won't conform to her expectations she's been already told to not communicate to much she will learn quickly its not that serious on her end
We just had ANOTHER team member put in their 2 week notice. Since she's been here, this is the 5th team member we have lost...smh

questions: do you "lose" anything by leaving this job ? things like company matches - vesting - yearly vacation time ? pensions >? exec comp plans/ opportunities ? excellent standing severance (jn the event of a horrible economy & mass job losses)?
i'd be curious to know - these are sometimes huge pluses. At my job i am able to move 75K/ year into tax free vehicles for future tax free income. this is a benefit i'd be reluctant to lose.
this being said - - if no losses - fly to a new opportunity....
i do believe in turning 'situations' to my advantage - opportunities are presented this way.
then people like her sometimes end up being removed from leadership.
There are definitly pros and cons. Thats why for me the path of least resistance is to stay...but the path of most allowance (which would be all faith) could be just to leave...who knows...in the meantime I leave for another vacation this week...lol.

She probably have a problem that you are making a lot of money and not to mention you travel a lot in her mind and away from the office plus she sees that you are beautiful, smart and fearless. She also know you ain't the 1 or the 2 to mess with. Stand your ground girlie don't leave your good job.

It's sad that her agenda is ultimately going to negatively impact the ORGANIZATION when they lose you. The you can't work more than 10 hours but I need you to stay more than 10 hours, but I "forgot" and now I am questioning your inability to follow the 10 hour rule is gaslighting. Definitely keep a record and when she asks for something or makes a new rule send an email summary every single time until you are on her nerves, but at least your behind is covered. Let her play checkers while you play Chess.
YUP! And guess what...I'm needed to work more than 10 hours next week and she once again played the forgot game and then changed the rules again - talking about as long as I let my direct manager know (taking her out of the equation) its fine...I'm like here she is trying to set me up again.

I have a salary...but I do a timesheet so whatever I dont work i hv to use PTO or do leave without pay...or if i work more than 80hrs biweekly, id get my hourly rate...so essentially I do get paid by the hour.
