This is why my doc recommended facial lipo, contouring and chin/jawline lipo. I wanted a more drastic look just like it sounds like you did. Def worth a check back! Happy healing!

I’ve just done this surgery and in my case, one of my cheeks developed more muscle than fat because I would use it more to chew than the other side. This could be a reason why one side is bigger than the other but there’s many possibilities due to each person’s habits. Hopefully this helps :)

Good plastic surgeons say it is better to under do a procedure, than over do. Obviously, this allows for further work once you are used to your new look. If you are happy with less - great. It is much harder/maybe impossible to correct once you've gone too far. Look at Demi Moore.
Don't forget, the face has masses of nerves that play a vital role in smiling and all facial expressions and are easily injured. The same goes for blood vessels, and injury can cause strokes. It is easy to forget the warnings part that you should have signed prior to surgery. It looks like your surgeon has done a good job.
You can have a check up if you're worried about pain in your cheek to rule out infection, but remember bones can also bruise during surgery, and can be painful/sensitive for a long time.
I had neck surgery a year ago and was cautioned about the possibility of temporary/permanent numbness, tingling and worse. A year later I have some numbness from my chin to halfway down my neck. Oh well. My son had surgery on the side of his face down to his neck - around the same time. He has very sharp jagged stabbing pains still. You look beautiful right now - way to go!

Hi girl! I’m not a doctor or whatsoever but I don’t know.. everything seems so off. The procedure taking 1.5hrs? The swollen cheek, the healing and still having fat on your face (which I think really looks good on you, but I understand you want to get rid of it so that’s frustrating). Maybe you didn’t have the ‘right’ experience? And not to make you feel bad or anything but I had mine done 2 months ago, full anesthesia (which I recovered from the same day because it was only 20 mins!), 1 day of not being able to eat solid food, literally no pain at all and started to see results after 1 week. I am saying this also for other people who are considering it and feeling like it’s not worth it. To me it was :(

I saw 2 different doctors for my consult and they both said it’s a 30min procedure. The doc I went with only took out the pads that slipped out when he cut. I was swollen on day two but every day less swollen. I looked at the pic I took day before surgery and now (3 weeks later) and I do see a difference but I am definitely still swollen. I also was not put under. Just numbing like dentist and a Xanax to relax me. Took one Vicodin the 2nd and third day after surgery. I’m also concerned with Amber’s experience. I’ve never heard almost 2hrs for this procedure and I really can’t see a difference after 3mos. Scaring me actually.

I would wait till all the swelling goes down and have a scan to see if he left any more fat in the cheek. Id say dont feel too discourage on the results because I saw someone else who didn't start fully seeing the results until after the 3 month mark. The provider said it can take 6-8 months for the cheek to fully heal.
I got mine done a little over a month ago and I'm just looking like I did before the surgery so im waiting till after the 3 month mark to start noticing 🙏🙏🙏 fingers crossed
UPDATE: Its has now been roughly 3 months and my face did start changing. I feel and see more contour to my face but note that this does NOT shape the fatty tissue along your jaw. This changes a round shape head into a square shaped head. If you want a more define or v-line face then a provider will specialize what you need. I personally want to chisel my jaw bone down to soften and feminize my face more.

You say you still have alot of fat on the lower part where your jowl is and thats where the buccal fat removal should help but actually no, the buccal fat pad is way higher up on the cheek so it wouldnt change the jowl fat very much to get it removed, you would need another type of procedure for that
