I feel ya brother not sure what race has to do with music but it is not a big deal for me personally I have been blessed to be born in America and race has never been something to talk about especially around here where I live it's mostly white people. But I know racist people and the best you can do is pray for people who have a heart filled with anger or hate ,whatever it is that makes them feel like that is usually taught. I too myself being in small town ky was a little bit of a racist at times but it was all the time I had spent in my race. When I married my ex wife who was mixed. Mama n papa and great grandma wasn't happy at all. But it was all the time they spent with uneducated close minded individuals and I think it's a abomination in the bible for mixing races. People are going to have to say that we are all children of God who is headed to the same destination and your real race is human. Racism is taught.

Edit 2023: Life is so much better now. Remarried, two more kiddos (and we get to see my daughter every month). Medical marijuana and music saved my life. Still have all the same problems, but they do seem smaller the further you walk in life. Thank you, everyone, for all the amazing messages. You are all still the reason I joined military in the first place, please take care of one another, every human is in this game of life together.
Also, full disclosure, I never saw any of these replies until today, 6 years after my original post. Your comments have moved me to tears. I am horribly agoraphobic and have been struggling with it more than usual lately. Reading all of your comments of support have deeply moved me, as the people outside of my home tend to only give me anxiety. I think it’s time for me to try this whole being part of society thing again. Thank you all so much for giving me hope in the world around me again.

Shit gets better but even 70 years down the road it can spike from 1 straight to 10. Smoke weed man, I got PTSD from everything except war, rape, car accidents and getting shot at in general. Lost a lot of people to overdose, one was stabbed, another suicide, another was shot but survived. Abuse by my alcoholic dad for 15 years of my life who died from drinking 25 years beer/last 4 years liquor, bullying by peers, getting robbed multiple times, getting jumped once, lots of bad police stops starting from the first. It doesn't get better, the same shit is going to happen for what is possible and new shits going to happen. Its life for exposed un-sheltered humans. Smoke weed, it feels like you don't even got PTSD while high, find your strain and don't do any other drug including alcohol, weed can help you quit anything except cigs(you need more than weed to quit cigs), also weed wont fully take away the pain of losing your wife and daughter. Don't look for relief in alcohol, its only temporary and makes you want more. You may not care but live your life for others, the contract expires, the oath doesn't.
Hang on dude. I lost my whole world a year ago. Get the help you need and learn to forgive yourself (the hardest thing of all). Seether is always good to throw against the anguish. Sometimes they say everything you cant figure out how to.

Most of them don't know how it is to really have one of these, and we can't know for sure if this is true or edgy.

This song is my fiance who was in the Military, Prison and Homeless.
Now with a better life.
Struggling but hes fighting through.

He has PTSD too.
From the military and other problems in life.
Lost his dad and held him pass in his arms, his ex fiance cheated on him, lost brothers in the war all during being in the military. Once he got out he became homeless.
He was ruined, had anger, depression, suicidal, sad, no self control, no hope, lost everything and everyone, self medicating, PTSD.
His cousin flew him to another state to live with him,
I met him a couple years after he was out of military living with his cousin for 6 months.
He didn't drive, have no vehicle, didn't know anyone.
Its a lot of work.
Were still together.
And it takes time and patience, self control, to keep occupied and focused. And for him to know I will be there for him through thick and thin. Its tough. We fight, we love.
God guides us.
God helps us forgive and let the past Be the past.
God holds our future.
God is working on us day by day.
We also need to want, desire and motivate ourselves one step and one day at a time to better ourselves and grow.

I recently started listening to metal, hard rock and head banging music again. I found a calm I haven't felt in ages.
I'm a grandmother if five and my oldest grandson enjoys listening to the music, he asked me one day if it was true that only crazy people listen to it, I asked him why where'd you hear that? His response was
"My friend said that not only is your grandma old but she's crazy because crazy old people only listen to that kind of stuff. " Well, I'll remain old( although I don't always feel like I am) and yes a little bit crazy, who ain't? As long as I have good music, a safe way to vent and a love for rock I'm good. One day my grandson will understand. I was sad to hear that he lost a friend, I guess my grandson's got my back. It's just sad because that opinion is a learned one. I teach my little guys to enjoy all music because they have plenty of time to choose what they like and embrace it.

My grandmother told me that reason I haven't died and gone to hell is because I have so many relatives. She said as each one of them passes that would be one less person praying for me.
What my Grandmother meant by that was as each one of my relatives died off it would be one less family member Praying for me. I'm 60 year's old now and I have just a few members left to pray for me. Believe me. I can really feel the difference as each one passes. 😵

I love everything about Seether...perfect rock band.
I feel this song 💯. I have what's called BPD aka borderline personality disorder. It's like PTSD and Bipolar combined. I often self destruct and when I do I don't care that I do til I've calmed down and can think rationally. It's not just anger that get triggered but also feelings of depression. Often I'll go from calm to manic to completely down in the dumps wanting to die in a matter of an hour. It's hell to live with this. You're not alone if you have this disorder. It's more common than one might think. One difference between bipolar and BPD is bipolar is an inheritable disorder where as BPD much like PTSD is learned or taught through life experiences. The first step to getting better is to acknowledge you have it. Do your research and find out more about it and learn to spot your triggers. If you can spot them before they happen then you can possibly prevent the trigger altogether. Again this song speaks to me everytime I hear it.
I have BPD as well. It is definately hard to live with, but stay strong and keep doing exactly what you are doing; reaching out and educating! Best wishes.

From a music standpoint these guys have always had a unique dynamic. From a lyrical standpoint it has always been poetic and fluid. One of the most underrated bands, yet most rounded and talented.
