SJT, you know what I like best about your videos ? You’re always so polite as to not record when many people are around. That a very respectful thing for you to do. I also love your sense of humor. In the late 70’s, my uncle was stationed in Okinawa. I remember post cards … so beautiful. I just found your channel a month ago and I’ll bet I’ve went back and watched a years worth of videos ( always hitting the like button). I noticed today that I hadn’t subscribed, so … as I pressed the subscribe button, I was singing Sunflower 🌻. 😊. Thanks for the wonderful videos !
In general Japanese people do not like having their picture taken, esp if you don’t ask them first. It has to do with stealing their soul.

I went on a cruise from Texas through the Gulf of Mexico with stops in Belize and the Caribbean. We were outrunning a tropical storm behind us. The first night we experienced huge waves. They had to gather passengers on the pool deck because tons of people were getting seasick, it was a site to see with women in evening gowns and dudes in tuxes. Needless to say, the only ones not affected were us partaking in heavy drinking.

I would say take your whole everything, cause that one blanket looked like something you would find inside a creepy old prison. LOL
The port infrastructure of all the island ports is very impressive. Including sliding metal doors to make a sea wall in bad weather.
That boat, at 9:00 mark, transported me from Belgium to the UK in the late 80's, I was very excited as a kid to be on it. I'm always happy to see it still sailing along in Japan. I hope you can revue it some day!
At 9:00, it's a jetfoil. Do you mean the Queen Coral Plus?
@@Dax893 The one I traveled on was called Princess clementine, but is now know as Seven Island Niji. Of the 28 ever produced and delivered all around the world, the 14 still active all ended up in Japan or Hong kong.

I took the okinawa to kagoshima route in January this year. My brother insisted on taking a ferry because of your videos.
That bedding looked like something straight from a prison. I think being in a pod capsule would be more enjoyable than this room, especially when its 25 hours on that ship.
I give you a lot of credit for the things you have to sleep on.
A room with its own makiwara. Now that is luxury karate-do style. Go to Okinawa in Okinawa style.
I love the pillow, not!! But I will admit that Naha looks like a very vibrant place to live.

Interesting. a true multi role ship purpose built for an island route no doubt. Not only can she take passengers and vehicles, she can also carry containers as deck cargo, and has a deck crane to load and unload without shore assistance.

yes, just hearing the name makes me think of sewol because this is the old name according to the source wikipedia sewol was originally called naminoue It's just that the Sewol had a side door in the bow when it was sold to Korea. When it was sold to Korea, the side door was removed and its capacity was increased, which was one of the causes of the accident and many innocent people became victims

You were lucky that they provided pillow cubes, they are good for side sleepers. I always sleep on one because they are so comfortable.
Great trip. The room actually isn't bad, but the blanket with history and the pillow is something, also can't imagine of seasick effect inside this room since the Windows located outside your room. Yeah, everytime i watching Okinawa Ferry trip, two things came in my mind are: Ferry rarely to loading vehicle, especially truck (except military vehicle or maybe bike) and the Japanese container loaded at vehicle deck.
at first i thought the caption when you did the room tour was "bad," not "bed" and i laughed really hard. blanket with history indeed 😅
