I always felt like that part was a continuation of Andre 3000 saying "y'all don't wanna hear me, you just wanna dance", like ppl didn't want to deal with the heaviness of the lyrics and emotion. I imagine that's why Vessel left that part out. It's like he said, "What if ppl DID want to hear the seriousness instead of just dancing to avoid it".

Actually the song was always sad,my man Andre 3000 just drop some layers of joyful beats over that song to cope with what he was going through in that particular time, my man Vessel dug through those layers and came up with the real essence of the song 😭 ,Andre 3000 has some influence over Sleep Token,they have those energetic and joyful melodies with the saddest lyrics

Vessel knows how to take a song and make it his own. His voice is full of so much emotion that the actual words to the song takes on a different vibe than the original. He did a cover of I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston also. He's a song writer/composer and can take any song that he relates to and make it sound like it was written by him. He gets you in feels for sure. I can't wait to see them in May!!!!!! I'm giddy just anticipating the show 😅 .... Got a bit of a road trip to see them but they are so worth it. They are from the UK but they're doing their North America tour starting in May. I couldn't get tickets to the Atlanta show, but managed to get tickets for Tampa FL. I'm stoked!! For me there was definitely pain under the surface of the original, the groove and instruments were what placed it in the upbeat side of things. Amazing to hear Vessel at this point, he already had an amazing voice but it’s matured so much especially for the last couple of albums.
