Assuming that the Jaredites traveled East and launched into the Pacific is placing an interpretation on the text. So is using a fantasy map to represent the land northward.
Yep, the lands of Asia were populated already, Europe however, was not.
I would love to see a discussion on this. I tend to think they may have traveled through Africa and ended up somewhere in West Africa. The prevailing currents could leave them in any one of the theorized landing spots.

Kib is not mentioned in the Book of Ether in the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Ether primarily focuses on the history of the Jaredite civilization, their wars, and their eventual destruction. The mention of Kib ruling in Moron and his rebellion does not come from the Book of Ether but from a different part of the Book of Mormon.

I really don't think that they wondered all across China and let out to sea from Korea. To me the Jaredites would seem very much like Lehi's family as they wandered for some eight years and let out from the Red Sea area and probably went around the Cape of Good Hope of Africa and arrived near the narrow neck of land or even ventured from the Black Sea into the Mediterranean Sea out into the North Atlantic down into America as some others may think. I still feel that they both started out near the narrow neck and moved northward spreading out until they arrived in upper New York State. I feel that they landed somewhere on the Atlantic side instead of going the very long way of traveling to the Pacific side.
It's tricky because we don't have much information. What we know is that they traveled in a wilderness where never man had been (Ether 2:5), for an undisclosed amount of time, the route had many bodies of water that had to be crossed with barges (Ether 2:6), they reached a great sea that divided the lands (Ether 2:13) and there was a mountain of an exceeding height on that coast (Ether 3:1). Also, in appears that they landed on the west coast of the Americas as the land of their first inheritance (Moron) requires that all recorded travel be east from there (Ether 9:3; 14:26). Any scenario that fits what we know could work.
Wayne May has a very interesting and better theory about the Jarodites and how they parallel with the Adena civilization of north America specifically the great Lakes. After all Wayne May is an archaeologist and has written several articles concerning Book of Mormon geography.
@BroJFullmer I noticed how that around the 1:45 min mark you showed how that they traveled, pitched their tents, called the place Moriancum. Moriancum appears to be the Asiatic. Before DNA the Mormons suggested that the native might have departed from the Asiatic. At least the first wave did. This is a very good video.

This was a pretty good and accurate description. Most folks don't know that the Jaredites built barges twice. The Jaredites went north. Lehi went South and around Africa clockwise to the Gulf Coast of America. The Jaredites probably crossed the Pacific during the 344-days adrift and landed on the west coast of America or Canada. The iconic Mesoamerican hourglass does NOT fit. If they were in such a restricted area as the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (200 x 500 miles), why would it take 4 years to gather the people for the final battle?
Your video doesn't mention Ether 10:20 where the Jaredites built a great city by the "narrow neck of land, by the place where the sea divides the land." This location has to be the Great Lakes which clearly divides the land. In Nephite terms Lake Ontario was likely the east sea and Lake Erie or Michigan probably the west sea or all the other 4 Great Lakes were the west sea as they are about the same elevation and Lake Ontario is about 300 feet lower. The lakes were likely larger and deeper in those days--soon after the great Flood. These lakes contain 20% of the fresh water on the earth. Central America does not fit! It's just the opposite where the land divides the oceans or seas as they were sometimes called.
At the 20:05 mark the artwork depicts a Mayan or Aztec war club which didn't exist until several hundred years AFTER the Book of Mormon ended and probably well over a thousand years after the Jaredites were dead.
I believe your depiction of the engravings on the stone were made by Coriantumr during his 9 moons with the Mulekites. This large stone was brought to Mosiah to be translated with the Urim and Thummim that accompanied the 24 plates found by the people of Limhi. Notice Mosiah wasn't taken to the stone because it wasn't one of those 20-ton Mayan glyph stones.
The events of the Book of Mormon happened in America--not Mesoamerica.
Letter VII at www.josephsmithpapers.org/paper-summary/history-1834-1836/83 clearly proves that the hill Ramah and the hill Cumorah was the same hill in western New York where the final battles of the Jaredites and Nephites and Lamanites happened and the same hill where Joseph got the plates. There is only 1 hill Cumorah and it is in New York, not southern Mexico.
Finally, I know why my Mormon friends say "Oh Shiz!"

From the “Book of Mormon Student Manual”, chapter 50. Ether 1:34-35. The Brother of Jared’s Name
Elder George Reynolds (1842-1909) of the Seventy related the following account, which indicates that the brother of Jared’s name (see Ether 2:13) was revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith (1805-44): “While residing in Kirtland Elder Reynolds Cahoon had a son born to him. One day when President Joseph Smith was passing his door he called the Prophet in and asked him to bless and name the baby. Joseph did so and gave the boy the name of Mahonri Moriancumer. When he had finished the blessing he laid the child on the bed, and turning to Elder Cahoon he said, the name I have given your son is the name of the brother of Jared; the Lord has just shown [or revealed] it to me. Elder William F. Cahoon, who was standing near heard the Prophet make this statement to his father; and this was the first time the name of the brother of Jared was known in the Church in this dispensation” (“The Jaredites,” Juvenile Instructor, May 1, 1892, 282).

A careful reading of Ether 8:25 to 9:3 will reveal that the Jaredite lands are the same lands that Lehi lived before his sailing journey. Omer's journey is identical to Lehi's journey. This means the Book of Mormon lands are in the Old World, not the New World.
Compare:
1 Nephi 1:20, Nephi tells us about the prophets of old, whom they had cast out and stoned and slain.
Ether 8:25, Moroni tells us about the prophets from the beginning who were murdered, stoned and cast out.
1 Nephi 2:9, Lehi journeys to the fountain of righteousness.
Ether 8:26, Moroni tells us men should be persuaded to come unto the fountain of all righteousness.
1 Nephi 2:2, The Lord commands Lehi to depart in a dream.
Ether 9:3, The Lord warns Omer to depart in a dream.
1 Nephi 16:33, Lehi travels many days.
Ether 9:3, Omer travels many days.
Ether 9:3, Omer travels by the place where the Nephites were destroyed.
1 Nephi 17:1, Lehi Journeys East.
Ether 9:3, Omer travels East.
1 Nephi 17:6, Lehi pitches his tents on the seashore.

It is impossible for me to believe these journeys took place in the Old World for Lehi and the New World for Omer. These verses in Ether reveal that the entire Book of Mormon narrative takes place in the Old World. The Jaredites lived in the Middle East, the Nephites were destroyed in the Middle East. Lehi's journey begins in the Middle East. The Land Northward is the Middle East. The Land Southward is Africa. They are connected by a Narrow Neck of land, the Isthmus of Suez. The Fountain of All Righteousness that flows into the Red Sea is an actual waterway in Africa. It is the ancient canal Pharaoh Necho II built connecting the Nile river to the Red Sea.
The Vision of the Tree of Life is a roadmap from Israel, across the Isthmus of Suez (fountain), up the Nile River, to Ethiopia. Ethiopia is where Lehi believed the Garden of Eden was and the Tree of Life. Lehi followed the Iron Rod, along the Nile River, to Ethiopia. The narrative tells us the Iron Rod is the Word of God. The Word of God is the Brass Plates. The Brass Plates contain Isaiah. Isaiah 18:1-7 tells us missionaries will be sent to Ethiopia. When Nephi arrives in the promise land (Ethiopia) he has his brother teach the words of Isaiah and declares his soul delighteth in the words of Isaiah, 2 Nephi 11:2.

hmmm, what could be the reason for those barges having top and bottom holes? I don't understand. Was it because if the craft could flipped over in the sea, they were to plug and unplug the holes, less the water would get in? this story doesn't make a bit of sense to me.

If those barges flipped even with light given from the Brother of Jared would not have been a fun ride with sea sickness and everyone falling over each other unless tied down would have been a sea ride from hell. How about bees being knocked about. I’ve been out to sea in the Navy and I cannot imagine how bad the sea voyage may have been. I bet they all thanked the Lord when finally arriving on dry ground.

Wow. You need to be taking this Mormon fare quite seriously. They came from southern Iraq and then from adjacent to the Caspian Sea and then they trekked directly across central Asia to just south of the Korean Peninsula. Then they sailed across the Pacific. You know what they did ? They created the Polynesian Race by two of their females cross breeding with some paleoamerican males at some off-shore Canadian islands.There arose a genetic marker specific only to Polynesians, and such is where and how it was developed. Then the rest of them continued on into North America, becoming the intelligentsia of the Adena culture in North America.
Geez, can't imagine that sizable hill where Angel Moroni entrusted the gold plates to the Prophet Joseph Smith was the same hill that bore witness to the bloodshed and carnage not only of the Nephites but also of the Jaredites.

Long time ago Navajo were great educator with writing, reading. One day great war came on the land. All writers, readers hands, tongues, feet were cut off. So they won't be writers, readers no more.
