Peavey 5150 | Peavey 6534+ | Solar Guitars | My favorite Death Metal guitar rig

- A look at my favorite 2 amp setup. This setup sounds absolutely brutal. When I'm playing live or practicing with my band I like to use 2 amps for a thicker heavier sound. The 6534+ is my favorite but the 5150 is a classic and sounds great!

That's INSANE!! Sounds so good
Absolutely brilliant vid thank you
🤘🤘🤘
Awesome mannn!!!
Sounds killer! I can only imagine it sounds way better from your perspective. My dream Amp is my old Mesa Boogie Rectoverb that I had to sell 4 years ago. And I’m dying for a custom BC Rich Ironbird with warlock headstock.
Really like that set up Dan. E
I always use two half stacks as well . I tell people this : every tone you love on records is 99 percent blends of amps . So why not as well. I blend a wizard MTL2 and a Diezel Herbert.
That is true!
Amazing! Got the same setup except a Tuberscream TS9. Nicely done.
Nice!🤘
This rig is so fucking sick! It really does sound like two guitars, like a multi-track recording.
Thanks! 🤘
@@DanGatesMetal hey dan make a vid and play some deicide deicide album on that set-up i would love to hear it and your playing style reminds of it
You had me at "It's fucking brutal". Absolutely killer sound! I love my Mesa Mark V:25. Makes me think of getting a smaller Marshall head, like a DSL20H and run them stereo. Thanks for this video!
Haha! Yes!! Brutality!!
Here’s an updated version of that video. czcams.com/video/bDVQkGyr2fM/video.htmlsi=kI-yuwgMrTnlvlCl
Man, your tone is HUGE. Incredible! I'd love to hear both amps properly recorded
Thanks! 🤘
@@DanGatesMetal awesome sound but i run a mesa triple with my 5150 and the low end on the mesa really beefs up the sound and the peavey 5150 has more high end sizzle i have no pedals and it vibrates the floor love it
@@davehendrix671 I’ve run my 5150 and my 2 channel Dual Rec together and yeah it’s awesome!
@@DanGatesMetal for shure i also have a diezel vh4 and if your looking for low end at low volumes that thing is unmatched it is my favorite amp now i run it with a friedman be 100 and its my favorite right now by the way hang on to your 5150 man those things are going through the roof price wise right now i got a 5150 and a 5150 2 3 4 years ago and paid 800 for them both now they are worth twice that
@@DanGatesMetal also great playing man
My favorite amp I own is my 6505. Your shit sounds killer and bro you look badass
Thanks!!🤘
Good god man. I really need to find a 6534+ to play with my 6505+. It sounds fucking stellar man!
Thanks! It’s a great amp!
I run a similar setup as well, 2nd guitarist is gone now so i got a aby switcher and a boss rc-500 to kick on when I gotta play a different part than whats going on the other amp.
Which amps do you use?
Can you share those 6534 settings, ive been chasing a sound like that for a long time
I don't know why people never mention the Peavey Ultra at their best rig still to me the best amp from the Peavey lineups
I have never played through one! But you have me curious now!
Camera mike picked up well. Sounds killer
Thanks! I did an updated version of this video. czcams.com/video/bDVQkGyr2fM/video.htmlsi=_GBcxePSaPFzlSPK
When you're standing in front of your cabinets like that are you projecting the voice of the amps+cabinets between your legs at 85+ Decibels?
I'm usually standing beside the cabinet to avoid any damage to my ears (I have tinnitus really bad in one ear)
And I'm curious if standing in front of them like that during practice would be painfully loud and dangerous
I wouldn’t call it painful but it’s definitely loud! Probably not the best idea without ear protection but I’ve definitely done it plenty of times!
Evertune + Boss TU? Is Necessary? Awesome setup...Salutes from Brazil !!!
I like to check the tuning occasionally. But it’s always in tune!
if you're playing professionally and touring, EVERY bloody musician should have a good board tuner or strobe tuner up with you. Even back in the late 1990s when I saw
John Wesley Harding (the folk rock guy) at some small club in Brooklyn, every damned guy up there had a Boss tuner on the pedal board, clear as day. It's essential, at least if you're playing out live and/or recording.
sick rig dude.... I think the plumes is a bit overkill though, I'd recommend a electric eye mudkiller etc
I did an updated version of this video without the plumes. I’ve never tried the mud killer.
You def. seem like a guy I’d kick it with. Love Immolation and death metal in general.
I also have those two amp heads and a mesa cab.
Hah! Come on over! I did an updated version of this video! czcams.com/video/bDVQkGyr2fM/video.html
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Sounds bloody huge bro! It would soundy insane live!
Those peavey heads are pretty damn good for metal, affordable too.
Now im gona have to buy a peavey head :-(
Or 2...
Or 4...
😂 Yeah you really can’t go wrong with a Peavey for Metal!
But trust me, in this room, it's fucking brutal! I agree! Sounds awesome!
Thanks!🤘🤘🤘
sounds fucking killer !!!
Thanks! 🤘
Out of phase sounded tighter and heavier to me, lol, probably just the camera mic being overloaded when in phase
Definitely more low end when in phase. So yeah I can understand why you would hear it that way! In the room definitely way better in phase!
what a fuckin sound bro!!
🤘 What tuning?
C#g#c#f#a#d#
'In phase' means that with the phase buttom pushed in ?
For those amps yes. Not sure if it varies but seems like pushing the button in gets me in phase with my other amps too.
@@DanGatesMetal
Thanks bro. That video with lehle splitter solved my problem with grounding noise from my amps which was so big that I couldn't use both at the same time...
I tried that splitter and it's beutifull now. Making killer tone with two amps at the same time now :)
@@bekot2813 That’s awesome man!
Can I ask you, since nobody I've spoken to at the local guitar shops etc., seem to have any clue, is there ANY such thing as a smaller, practice or combo amp of any kind,
that is suitable for home metal or thrash/death metal playing? Or, is it essentially impossible to get that kind of high gain sound out of anything like that, and you'd
need at least a Marshall or Mesa head and cabinet and some of these pedals to get anything close? I figured it was nearly impossible, but I thought if anybody would know,
it would be you! I mean, Line6 isn't cutting it, nor would I EVER buy a Fender, Vox, Orange, small amp for metal. Maybe a Boss Katana 100 watt combo, and that's if
it's as good as they say, which I'm somewhat skeptical of. If you had a small Marshall Valvestate with a good metal pedal, could you get close?
I have a Peavey 6505+ 112 combo that sounds real good! I’ve also heard that the Peavey Vypyr is real good!
@@DanGatesMetal I had a feeling you might recommend Peavey. It seems that there are very few small practice or combo amps marketed for metal, given
you normally need some serious high gain/power and preferabl,y, tube, action to get that sound. I don't think a Fender Champ is gonna cut it! I have heard the Peavey's are recommended for some metal. I keep reading comments on reviews on here from kids who say, hey my Line6 Spider is weak! And I'm like..yeah it's like 5-25 watts solid state! I just got a Blackstar V3 10 watt amp, and I would say it's fine for crunch, clean, some heavy metal hard rock styles, but that's about it. Then again,
it's only the 10 watt version, although it's pretty impressively loud for that. I read Metallica started with all Marshall, then went to mainly MesaBoogie,
but we're talking their live setups vs. recording studio setups, also.
@@DanGatesMetal I think it's Peavey for the win, because I'm not seeing many other combo options that are in the ballpark anyway. I guess a Marshall older Valvestate
with a good pedal or two might do it.
You’re gonna get more balls with the bigger amps and cabs for sure. But my 6505+ combo sounds real good!
Ola did a video recently about the Vypyr. I’ve been thinking about buying one for my son.
What model solar is that

Dan, look into getting a TC electronics Mimiq doubler pedal I think this can help your live tone using a stereo set up czcams.com/video/TwR2x8khpsY/video.html or the Eventide MicoPitch pedal with its dry signal at 0 which does the same thing czcams.com/video/XjNBlCKCF9Y/video.html I have the mimiq its pretty effective at having the second guitarist sound.
you looked like long hair giga chad
I need to hit the gym real hard to look like him!😂
Ьпллпль😂ь🎉ло7
I use the Radial Tonebone AB-Y splitter and you definitely need the ground and phase switches! I run my Marshall and Bugera each side of our practice room, I’m also the only guitar player, great fullness
Yeah ground and phase switches definitely make a big difference!
