@@obsidiangrey1696 well not necessarily. the UK perception of the genre is still well in tact it's just that the American perception leans more to brostep which isn't really inherently bad. you can't really blame Skrillex for it especially since it was literally just a side project and he was just having fun, then lots of people began to enjoy it and boom.

Rock music today has very little to do with rock from the 50's.
hmm...actually Rock is always Rock. Just ask any real rock guy. Rock like any music evolves into sub genre. All music stays true to what it is. So if it is lame commercial crap for the masses..then it will always be that. The originators always deserve due credability.
Well, there is also quality Bass music today that is directly influenced by Skream. This music was the future 10 years ago. Now it is still a very relevant style of Bass music while commercial dubstep is actually passe.
"Rock is always rock" "it stays true to what it is" BullShit. If you go back to 1956 and play them Led Zeppelins No Quarter or Something from the Smashing pumpkins theyd ask you wtf is that. Dubstep also evolved just like everything else, how boring would it be if it just stayed the same. Plus there is plenty of non commercial/ underground dubstep out there! Stop being salty! You probably think all dubstep now is Skrillex or something. You need to get out!

You’re missing out on the riddim movement that’s resurging and wakaan stuff is a lot of times just like this. It’s not dead, it just got overtaken in popularity by tearout.
Don’t look for dubstep on labels just look for random ass guys on CZcams and SoundCloud who still make OG dubstep. That’s what I do
