- L.A.'s own Tom Scott and his third excellent CD from 1990 after signing with the GRP label in '87. Always been a big fan of Tom since the L.A. Express days! Definitely one of my top sax players.

HOW BOUT DAT! Tom Scott is the TRUTH! His legendary saxophone will never lies!
Brilliant Album of 1990 that was first air played on Jazz FM Radio 📻 102:2 in London, United Kingdom.
I have not heard Pick Up The Pieces since maybe 30 years ago. Something to remember.
Tom Scott's GRP years has always been my more favorable selection out of his discography. Always bringing home with the goods with rising jazz stars like Dave Koz, Michael Landau, and Neil Stubenhaus. Tom Scott knew how to pick his gang. Love it!!!!
Another excellent upload! I remember first hearing (and instantly loving) 'Them Changes' on Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles Live (1972) - Tom's version just SMOKES!
Love Tom Scott! I played his music so much in the 90’s!
What can I say back to work walking with some swag 😡😡😡😡😡🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶😊😊😊😊😊
We Belong Together sounds as good with Sax on melody here as it was with guitar on the OST of Stir Crazy.
Funny my good buddy Bill McPherson was Buddy MILES Tenor sax player for 5 or 6 years. He played on 5 of Buddy's albums. I just met Tom Scott a couple of weeks ago. It's a small world ain't it.
I know, this song is created only for me! Powerfull music! Wow!
Easily one of my favorite uploads thus far! Jam after jam, & an Uncle Festive upload yesterday?? Killin it KJ!
Another gem from GRP and You!
What a great album I haven't heard before!
For those who were looking for the other Tom Scott and still want a interesting story, here's one. This Tom Scott has the ignominious distinction of being the band leader on not one, but two failed late-night shows. First the Pat Sajak Show on CBS, then the Chevy Chase Show on Fox (which made Pat's show look like a roaring success in comparison). None of this was Tom Scott's fault, of course; he was just there to play the sax.
Chevy Chase typical 'you know what ' Couldn't stand that TALENTLESS sack of garbage!!Tom Scott, Now that's TALENT!!!
This is SOOOOO cool! Some of the songs from this album aired on Music Choice Contemporary Instrumentals!
Great!
If you don't know what is Music Choice Contemporary Instrumentals, it basically offers a mix of contemporary & smooth jazz, new age, global accents acoustic, beautiful orchestras, light classical and instrumental cover versions of songs.
I have heard of that before 👍
Nice 👍🙂
Yeah I believe it mostly has like stuff that you uploaded because I heard 70's, 80's & 90's smooth jazz and new age stuff I was unable to identify (well most of it I can identify but still), acoustic stuff, light classical, easy & beautiful orchestras like Nick Ingman, Millennia Orchestra, Botticelli, The Starlite Orchestra, Victor Vanacore, Bob Blom, etc. and instrumental cover versions of songs
Oh yeah and it also serves up a sprinkle of modern smooth jazz and traditional jazz as well because I heard songs release from 2000s and today and songs like some songs from Wes Montgomery and Paul Desmond
Still have a CD of this Tom Scott album! Initially, I bought a cassette tape of it (which I subsequently sold). Bought the CD some time after that. At that time (1990), I preferred Scott’s 2 previous GRP albums (Flashpoint and Streamlines) to this one but listening to it now, Them Changes is just as funky & fun to listen to!
Love his version of “Pick Up The Pieces” (AWB hit tune), Buddy Miles’s “Them Changes” as well as a re-recording of “Desire”, originally the title track of his ‘82 album (on the short-lived Musician record label founded by Bruce Lundvall)!
Tom Scott did the Sax Solo for Highway to the Danger Zone, which instantly makes him my top pick
Pick Up The Pieces
From November through early January of each year, Music Choice Contemporary Instrumentals pre-empted its content for holiday jazz, new age, classical and easy listening songs
Zoot Suit! Jeff Lorber!
