I was reading the play while watching this. they've memorised their lines so perfectly it was astounding. I did not expect to be in tears but the final fight between biff and Willy did it for me. I couldn't contain myself. very well acted I hope they got awards!
Amazing performance! I was reading the play while this was playing and it's truly outstanding how they memorized the lines almost perfectly. Thank you for helping by giving me some visuals to work with to understand the play. Everyone in this cast was amazing.
Wow, I couldn't care at all about this play since I was randomly assigned to read the script in school, but after watching it, it's amazing. Plays are meant to be watched, not read. Why do you think people hate reading so much? It's schools forcing people to do things they don't care to do.
omgsh. boys where ever you all are I thank you and congratulate you for the play, I read and watched along also form my 2330 literature class… very well done!!!
Im currently auditioning for a fine arts school in the theater department and i have to do a biff monologue for auditions. These two videos helped me understand the backstory and give me inspiration on how to preform the monologue. Thanks so much!
I sped forward to the ending, because I wanted to see the final confrontation with Biff and Willy. That's the scene that made me cry. Because Biff was my favorite character. He had more to him than the typical "dumb jock" stereotype. He had issues I could relate to despite the fact that I'm not a jock. This portrayal was PERFECTION. The kid was completely miserable. Straight up broken. And it broke me: like it was meant to. Fantastic job. As a side note, he's not bad looks-wise. (I'M SORRY. I had to say it.)
Little thirlwards I'll try my best. Willy Loman thinks he's a successful businessman, but his time's basically up. He can't sell anymore, but he's in denial and lives on loans from his friend to survive, pretending it's his pay. His mind is going, his son Biff doesn't know what to do with his life and has given up on making his dad proud. Happy, despite his name, is completely ignored and only wants to make him proud. They're a very dysfunctional family, the story delves into every thing that made their relationships go wrong, and let's just say it's not a feel-good play.
I had to read the play for my english class and the professor told me that it would be a good idea to watch the play while following along with the script because it helps alot with all that is going on in the play (willy has a lot of flashbacks that occur while he is talking to other people and they randomly occur so for me being a visual learner it was nice seeing how it worked out in the play instead of solely using the script to help me paint a picture in my mind. 12/10 would recommend this production because they were very good at their roles and their ability to memorize the exactly lines amazes me : D
Little thirlwards hello there! There are actually a lot of stuff going on the story and I don't want to lead you astray in my poor explanations but try cliffnotes for an overview of the summary (www.cliffsnotes.com/literature/d/death-of-a-salesman/play-summary) or shmoop (www.shmoop.com/death-of-a-salesman/summary.html) they both have very good explanations that helped me understand the play better so I highly recommend them!hopefully this helped
Wonderful performance! I am curious to know how it was possible to fill each and every word with lively and lifelike emotions and feelings with every words in mind. Hats off to the performers!
ON A LIGHTER NOTE! "Strudel's comin'." That delivery made me giggle. Hap is underrated to high heavens. What a womanizer, but so well acted. That clever napkin throw though. Sorry I missed him the first time. I nearly forgot him in the book, but I couldn't help but love him here.
Am I the only person who watched this out of my own free will? Like I was just curious because I heard the monologue in another movie and decided to watch this amazing performance.
Move onto 4:48 psychosis if you think this is complicated rlmalvin.angelfire.com/KaneSarah448Psychosis.pdf Kane will do your fucking head in trying to figure out everything she meant, and how she wanted it staged.
The Bernard/Willy scene in Charlie's office seems to have too much body movement, moreso with Willy and it gets a bit distracting. Also there's no need to bark out the lines where Willy is asking himself why Biff for fifteen years he's been asking himself why Biff would flunk math and lay down and die like a hammer hit him. Not that they had to duplicate the original with Lee J. Cobb as Willy Loman and Gene Wilder as Bernard but at least when they were sitting you witnessed more of Willy's internal struggle and the mental angst that characterized it but in a CONTROLLED state, not so wildly dispersed around as in this case.
I am in a college English class and can not tell you how much your videos helped me understand this play. Thank you very much for posting!
Legit same fam

I just find the scene where willy speaking to his boss so painful because you just know its not gonna end well.
I can’t hear half what he’s saying. It’s like he has a mouthful of cotton wool.

12:18-12:58 is the best from Willy, in my opinion. Very good timing, controlled emotion and natural.

Dam that was amazing ^^
Can you tell us who directed this play and where it was performed? Was this from a college? Highschool?
Bronx High School of Science, if you're still wandering!
Makeup and costume could have at least added a grey wig. Needed more attention to aging characters. What's up with Willys pants?
ohh the FEEL
Who played Biff? He looks so familliar!
my gosh the kiss in 1:02:54 nakakakilig!!
Memorization instead of acting
The setting and actors bother me beyond belief.

There's no feeling in this play 😕 😪...... Great music.
this better be satire
I thank you for the play but you have to admit the acting is pretty bad. It's the effort though. B+
Charley & Biff were the only good actors.. sorry not sorry
I think that all of them are bad actors .
@@halimovicuwk3406 Then do it better
Okay
Jesus Christ this play is fuckin downer.

A great play poorly performed 😐😐😐. Specially the guy playing Willy , so superficial.
