Any band who Morris dances as part of their show is SOOO COOL! Hilarious! Saw them at the Winnipeg Folk fest and they ROCKED! Rules are usually to stay seated during shows because of sightlines however EVERYONE was up on their feet. I can't wait to see them live again.
Along with Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, The Albion Band, Seth Lakeman and the rest, Bellowhead carried the flag for English Folk. Excellent guys, please reform.
You tube videos dont do bellowhead any justice. Go see them live, they blew me away, so much energy, and a couple pints of scrumpy dont go amiss either !!
Just seen these guys live at Fairport's Cropredy festival. They are simply AMAZING!. Do yourself a favour and go see them at a live concert. You won't regret it.
Bellowhead is not just a band. They're true artists! Watching John and the rest fiddle is beyond amazing! Neil Gow would love him! ¬ Janet Thompson Deaver
We were all young once, and I too played the Trombone, but not yer actual folk music. Had a squeeze box too, but it was so old it fell to bits so I learned to play the tin whistle and the flute, and never looked back.
about once a year a lookup something like 'pete flood percussion solo' THERE IS NOTHING!!!!!!! PLEASE, PLEASE if someone who knows pete sees this will they make him put up a really impressive drum solo. it's a disgrace that all these over the internet people have put up percussion solo videos, when one of the best has nothing!!!!!! please thumbs up this if you have never heard how good he is, or even if you do know! thanks
@bobbylizziebeebop What are the differences between the two? I've never see or even heard of the dance you are talking about. My dad did Morris dancing so that's all I've ever seen. Do they both wear bells and the sort but just different steps?
@logosthedestroyer are we talking arranged as in the order of the tunes and how the three are put together? if so, yes i agree they are jsut placed next to each other though. i meant the way the parts of the band play into each other mainly. the way the instruments come in at the start in particular is amazing
eeeeeeee!!! most favourite video ever! and while for a long while I was a jon boden woman through and through, I have just noticed that the drummer is also a bit of a fitty! does anyone know his name?
Sounds like a folk band being thrown down a long flight of stairs. Spiers and Boden; oh how I wish you'd stick to just the two of you. Now that is amazing.
Why are you competing about who liked them first, and showing off like 'I'm 16 and I love this band'? There are 6 billion people in the world, chances are there's another 16 year old who likes them too y'know! You're REALLY showing your age :)
It's even worse when you're standing and there's some old git rooted to the spot, refusing to move, clap or make any demonstration that he's enjoying the music.
@boosh1988 I know my old school band could have done a better job. Really though it's not so much 'arranged' as 'slapped together like a roadside BLT sandwich'
How often is it that you see music played with such joy, Bellowhead are just irresistible.
Any band who Morris dances as part of their show is SOOO COOL! Hilarious! Saw them at the Winnipeg Folk fest and they ROCKED! Rules are usually to stay seated during shows because of sightlines however EVERYONE was up on their feet. I can't wait to see them live again.
Dear Paul, gone too soon, such a sad loss to music, a real gifted individual xxx

Bellowhead is not just a band. They're true artists! Watching John and the rest fiddle is beyond amazing! Neil Gow would love him! ¬ Janet Thompson Deaver
Just saw them live at the cambridge folk festival, they were absolutely amazing! Go see them live!
Amazing Band. I've only seen them once at Wychwood festival and was blown away. Definately off to see them again at some point.
We were all young once, and I too played the Trombone, but not yer actual folk music. Had a squeeze box too, but it was so old it fell to bits so I learned to play the tin whistle and the flute, and never looked back.

Englands finest. Guys please reform .
What an arrangement... what a performance!!! When are they going to reform?
I'm going to see them live on Friday -- can't wait!
Good on the BBC for promoting them.
@blondieB90: the drummer is called Pete Flood.
Makes you proud to be English.
For me, pretty close to perfection.

Never saw 'em. Planned to, and then they were gone ... All that's left is these YT vids. Oh well, carpe diem.
Great fun are Bellow Head!
Would someone please show Simon Cowell this, please?
Then he might have some idea what REAL talent looks like!
I don't use cliches except in extreme circumstances. You've hit the nail on the head 1,000,000%
If you want a definition of what 'tight' means, when referred to a group of musicians that are clearly in sync, then look no further than this.
Such a shame they decided to quit. X
God I need to learn to play the middle tune on violin :)
you have the best username ever. How I wish I had chosen it!
@bobbylizziebeebop What are the differences between the two? I've never see or even heard of the dance you are talking about. My dad did Morris dancing so that's all I've ever seen. Do they both wear bells and the sort but just different steps?
yes! greenman festival here i come :)
Amazing band , amazing music.
@logosthedestroyer Please by all means show me a school orchestra capable of writing an arrangement of three folk tunes like this.
I might just go and see them at v festival
@logosthedestroyer are we talking arranged as in the order of the tunes and how the three are put together? if so, yes i agree they are jsut placed next to each other though. i meant the way the parts of the band play into each other mainly. the way the instruments come in at the start in particular is amazing

Pete Flood. You're welcome.

@blondieB90 Pete Flood
Sounds like a folk band being thrown down a long flight of stairs.
Spiers and Boden; oh how I wish you'd stick to just the two of you. Now that is amazing.
Got some bad news for you then. Heard something a little while back about them packing it in to focus on Bellowhead :/
