The thing that makes Gregg's impression so funny is that it is actually accurate.

It is a bit weird but proven to be very popular. Chris Eubank was a professional boxer who has a distinctive voice and a lisp. There is a video where they get Greg to do it again only for Chris Eubank to suddenly walk on stage. As you can imagine the reaction is great.

Neil Gaiman, the author of Sandman, American Gods and Coraline to name a few said of Jonathon Ross, he's the only celebrity he'd ever met who was the exact same person in the flesh as he is on TV. I've always thought that that was a great compliment. Authenticity is King, which is why CZcams creators thrive.

This has been said a million times, but Cats Does Countdown makes absolutely no sense in clip form, if you want to understand the show. Watch a full episode. It's the same with Taskmaster. If all you are watching is out of context 23 second clips, it's just confusing.
Please watch the kittens clip from 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown. Jimmy getting stressed while trying to control a bunch of mischievous kittens is one of the funniest things I've ever seen 😂

You should see if you can find 'Man Down', it is Greg's sitcom which loosely follows his time as a teacher. Its good, odd but good.
Especially the first season with Rik Mayall. Also Rosin Conarty's character is an absolute delight, every line she delivers is just perfect. And the way she does the part where her uncle died by lobster, omg genius.

Countdown was on daytime TV. First program and watched on channel 4. And they would never allow swearing
You have to watch the follow-up to the Chris Eubank impression. They invite Greg back on a later episode and ask him to do the impression again, then bring Chris Eubank on as a guest and Greg absolutely shits himself and almost runs out the studio. Chris has an iconic voice, a very soft and precise voice, considering he was a boxer. But he took it really well, he thought it was lovely that his voice was making people happy. He was a good sport about it.
Eubank was a great boxer, he was unbeaten within his weight class his whole career and retired with a record of like 45-2 or something. It'd be like publicly doing a ridiculous impression of Conor MacGregor or Floyd Mayweather and then he comes into the room.
That 2 was Steve Collins, knocked the bollix out of him, twice. But yeah, the follow up sketch was brilliant.
I would have refrained from telling how Mr. Eubank reacted. That's like a spoiler. Saying what you said without that part would have been the best IMO.

I like Jonathan Woss, or Wossy, as some I've heard one of the British comedians refer to him as. But I didn't know him until I went down the British panel show rabbit hole (awesome that you call it the same exact thing). But I'm really a fan of Graham Norton and Alan Carr. But I came across Graham first and foremost - before any of the panel shows - because of my own idol Cher. I was looking for Cher interviews on CZcams, and came across older ones on Graham's older show from the early 2000s which led to the newer one, from there I came across other comedians who I looked up on CZcams, saw clips of them on panel shows, fell in love with panel shows.

I'd recommend "TV Heaven, Telly Hell - Johnny Vegas". Basically a show that Sean Lock hosted with guests, the episode with Johnny Vegas just descends into chaos with Johnny Vegas going crazy... It's absolutely brilliant.
I like Jonathan Ross. He has made some poor choices in his time but he's definitely not bad. He's very open minded to things, also, and advocated for British version of RuPaul's Drag Race because it was campy, funny and creative and felt the UK needed variety like that.

there's an interview with Chris Eubank that was put out only yesterday. The man has always been eccentric and weird but at this stage he's lost his mind. His son Seb Eubank was 29 years old, just became a father and was living in dubai, suddenly died of a heart attack whilst chilling on the beach.
Jonathan Ross is pretty beloved in the UK, his chat show was the number #1 prime time chat show before Graham Norton, from around 1995 to 2010 he was the top dog in UK chat shows with the best guests and music acts. Around 2008 Graham Norton, who had been around for a while, started to get bigger guests and he also got syndicated in the US (the first UK chat show host to do so) and so he exploded in popularity and replaced Jonathan.
You should definitely watch the Johnny Vegas live act where he makes a teapot with beer.

Have you reacted to the one where Greg was asked to do it again, and Chris was there? Chris also came to my special needs child's school and he said that exams weren't important. The audible intake of breath from parents and teacher's alike was deafening. Nevertheless, Chris was a big hit with the kids and stayed long after he should have left to talk, encourage, sign autographs and have photo's taken with every child AND their siblings. Lovely man who is surprisingly sensitive. 💪🤐💪
