Benjamin (Michael Angarano), home-schooled by his eccentric mother (Jennifer Coolidge), is a loveable loner whose passion for writing leads him on an offbeat and hilarious journey as his story first gets ripped off by the legendary fantasy novelist, Ronald Chevalier (Jemaine Clement) and then is adapted into a disastrous movie by the small towns most prolific homespun filmmaker.

Criminally underrated. Having Rockwell play both versions of Bronco was genius - and Jemaine is the best.

It was so obvious that the director of Napoleon Dynamite directed this. I love these kind of movies. They have a certain uniqueness to them, you can't really describe.

Such a great movie, deserves much more love. It's impossible to not speak like Dr. Ronald Chevalier when talking sci fi.
Imagine me, watching TV late at night, and the show I was watching had just finished. The guy on TV said: "Coming up next, the movie "Gentleman Broncos", you won't want to miss is". So I thought, allright, let's watch it. I went into Gentleman Broncos without having a clue what it was about, knowing just the title. Let's just say that it was a... surprise, a very "special" movie... xDD

Some people may hate this movie. In fact, quite a few people may hate this movie. But it's absolute genius and destined to become a cult classic! It's a gold mine of one-liners and unforgettable characters. People who get this film will eventually find it and they will LOVE it....just like those who discovered the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Army of Darkness, or Reservoir Dogs. Watch this movie because it may just be the funniest thing you've ever seen! Or you might hate it.

Love it when Black Sabbath comes on and he starts shooting darts in the nightdress, it's just genius. And Sam Rockwell is amazing. Such a weird, hilarious movie with a great soundtrack, love it.

This is one of the most over-looked, underrated movie I've ever seen. SOOOOOO funny. I had to pause it at least 4 times because I would've missed parts because I was laughing so hard. The style of comedy is TOTALLY my style of comedy: ABSURD. Easily my favorite style.
This is the movie that you can see 100 times and it keeps getting funnier each time.

I just watched this last night, funniest movie I've seen in a long time.
I saw this on a plane flying back from America. I was depressed as it was the end of my holiday... This film made me laugh right the way home. Watched it twice. AMAZING. Most people will hate it though.
I sold my inception tickets to see this. So worth it. Makes Dark Knight looks like a baby made it. Beautiful 11/10. I would watch this is over and over. Got the blu ray extended and i just cant wait untill they make another sequel!

Jemaine Clement's accent in this movie reminds me of Dr. Frank-n-Futer. I love it. Now I need to see this movie...
I love reading the comments and seeing how some people think they are so above others just because they think their taste is more refined. People, this movie makes some people laugh. Others, maybe not. Just be happy that some people find humor. Not everyone can be as cultured some think they are for not finding this movie funny.

@@soapstone82 I really like Napoleon Dynamite but I definitely like Gentleman Broncos better, I feel this has more rewatchability than Napoleon.. I remember watching it on HBO or Starz after it came out when I was probably 12 and 13 and I still remember bits of it even at 22 years old. It sucks that's it's so underrated. I definitely enjoyed it more than Napoleon Dynamite.

I feel like this movie might have been a little to weird. In Napoleon dynamite it was just weird enough to be charming. But here it’s a little annoying. I think that’s why it flopped.
I watched this movie more times then I have shit...
This movie was HIIIIIIIILARIOUS! I loved it. I laughed my ass off (as did many others). I did not want to see it because I heard it was not good. I am so glad I did not listen to the critics. It was such a breath of fresh air. Don't go if you have any pre-conceived notions of what a block buster comedy should be, because this is not it. It's better.
Honestly if you haven't seen this, watch it. I was fully impressed and loved every moment of it.

the movie is hilarious the part where the snake craps on the guy his reaction is priceless.then the ending were bronco shaves off some of his beard hair and tries to put it on the bald woman head as a wig.

I happened to find this movie years ago on maybe IFC. It is hard to describe but if you get the chance watch it, hilarious, quirky, and some really phenomenal actors in it.

I had no idea this movie existed until yesterday after a buddy posted a clip and I think this movie looks great. The space scenes remind me of Danger 5 a little bit except with a slightly larger budget!
I'm really trying to watch this movie out of curiosity for the story, but to be honest, the main reason I wanna see this is the absolutely ridiculous hotness of Jemaine Clement. Like...that voice, that look, the hair, the CHEST hair! God damn!
