- Best Black Mirror episode ever, and the only non dystopian one I remember so far.
Hoping that one day stuff like that will be real.

its pretty ironic how black mirror, out of all shows, gave a happy lesbian ending
fr every gay stories on screen have sad endings 😭😭
It wasn't happy at all! The entire episode was about as a lesbian you can't live your life. It's death and regret. But because our hearts are already broken they refused to make a sad story to look at. Instead a story to enjoy even if the meaning was horrific.
@@yellow_three they made the choice to live in an artificial afterlife together. the story itself was sad bc coma and all the other sad shit, but in the end, it was a happy ending bc she was afforded the opportunity to live a life similar to what she would've missed, even if she wasn't in the coma, the homophobia would've still been there.
plus the main factor in the happy ending for me, is that they both got together in the end. in most other lesbian shows/movies/stories one either decides to leave, dies, or they leave the story open ended(which imo may be happy but isnt as happy as a definite ending together)
@@user-rh8pd8wh6h a bitter sweet ending
It was a bittersweet ending in any case, had they been lesbians or hadn't been.
My favorite Black Mirror episode... I’m not crying you’re crying
Mi fav one too. I nearly cried, and I NEVER cry for movies or series
I am!!! jajaja
LOL
Yeah, I'm Crying T_T
The one that was kinda non dystopian as compared to the other depressing bitches ;(
During the ending scene of this episode, I never felt so damn emotional from watching an TV episode of anything. Seeing them dancing together for eternity in the '80s and all those beautiful lights in the "TCKR Systems" building flashing to the beat of the song like a disco...it felt so magical to me. The beauty about this episode was that while most Black Mirror episodes show the dangers of advanced technology, this one showed the beauty of what it could possibly do.
For me it was seeing all of those lights flashing. And zooming out and seeing thousands of them, thousands of dead people who get to live together for eternity where nothing hurts and everything is perfect. Especially people who have horrible lives or didn't get to live properly.
It was chilling and it made me cry seeing the shot of her driving through the countryside and then showing the TCKR datacenter where everything takes place. Like so disconnected, but so beautiful.
Their attempt at recreating the 80s feels like a cheap ersatz facsimile of the 80s . All the actors were one-dimensional caricatures of people in the 80s who lacked the natural insouciance, naivety, and natural coolness of people in the 80s.

@I'm about to take this man's whole career I need heart reaction for this comment. :D
M. V. Here ya go, buddy 💛💜💙
I love how they wrote Kelly as a bisexual character that didn't have to explain her orientation. Like we know she's into girls at the beginning, then we learn she loved and was married to a man, and it's just like 'oh she goes both ways'. Idk, it was really nice how they didn't give her a scene where she had to explain it, or a scene where she has a crisis about who she likes. Just a bi, maybe pan, character being themselves without explanation.
I relate so much to this, this is what it looks like when you accept yourself.
That's a big step foward for bi people that they don't need to explain anything to anyone.
This is what it looks like to give "representation" without trying too hard. Some other movies or series creators need to take notes.
@@caffemocca8855 exactly, it felt so natural
I am bi. I choose to live my life as a straight male because I am married to a woman And I'm career military

Up until that point, no Black Mirror episodes had happy endings, so I was pretty much dying inside the entire episode. Filled with dread that it was going to end horribly. This is def my fave episode of all of the BM series to date. And I fucking love the 80s and this song!
Good point love black mirror but there isn’t many happy endings
It did end horribly in my opinion
kayla I agree you. This song prooves it. Heaven is a place on earth and not on the Cloud.
I like Nosedive ending too
That episode is dual, the end is happy and very sad at same time. They cant live like they want in real world and is unclear how much time in our society, they will let died people in countless datacenters full time ON (forever can't be forever in capitalism). The take with the machine arm is to we see how it not will be sustainable. If EUA have that tecnology today,
some congressmen would be voting to turn off datacenters, claiming energy savings for the living and biblical issues, all that with the president's full support.
Only Black Mirror can make a happy ending absolutely devastating. How am I so full of happiness and so sad at the same time????
I feel the same, this reminds me of a sweet and sour sauce... it really plays on our emotions.

That was one of the most beautiful episodes I’ve ever seen. I’m a 32 year old guy and cried my eyes out watching this episode. I’m so glad it had a happy ending for each of them - what a surreal episode and breathtaking outlook on the afterlife, love and happiness

@@RegLinProbit why did the original song envision living forever in a simulated reality? I don't think so. So OP is correct, the show does give the song a new meaning.
Belinda Carlisle knew what she was doing. I knew of this song back in the 90s
yorkie and kelly invented love
The darker theme is that Kelly knew her husband would never forgive her so that is why she stayed. Even if heaven does not exists in that episode, she knows.
@@aseeds7785 sorry but she didnt know what was beyond death , so probably her husband and daughter were just gone so she decided to stay with Yorkie. She said all things considered. For Yorkie San Junipero will allow her to live the life she couldnt while she was trapped in a literally already dead body, and she has the choice to disconnect her being whatever she wants. For Kelly is a new opportuniity to experience love again..

This episode changed my life. I was kinda dead inside but this episode was so god damn good it even reached into me and woke me up and ever since then I've just been a much brighter and generally more outgoing person. I know it wasn't just the episode, but the winter weather my country was experiencing, and me hurrying to a restaurant to meet my family right after this episode. The combination of my awakened emotions, the hurry, the interactions with other people, made me realize how much fun life is and how it's so full. It's difficult to describe how important this episode feels in retrospect.

This episode is still emotional it's been like three four years since it came out I was born in 1968 so I lived the eighties like these characters I had a fake ID when I was 17. The time frame they represent looks about 86 to 89. I remember when heaven is a place on Earth came out the song was huge Belinda Carlisle was all over the place in fact we go up with her when she was a Go-Go the song has so much meaning to begin with. Every single Black Mirror episode can be remade into a full length movie.
This one is one of my favourite.
This episode makes this old man tear up.
Could of used KD lang's "constant craving" and that would of worked too.
This episode hit a good nerve and so did this song. I hadn't listened to this song since about middle school and than I watched this episode when I first started college and not ashamed to admit that I almost cried of joy in a college hallway.
Лучшая серия в черном зеркале. Актрисы заслуживают нечто большее. Чем просто какой-то Оскар
stuck in the 80s near the sea with beautiful girls and great music for eternity? where do I sign up??
This was a great episode of Black Mirror.
I really don’t know why black mirror hasn’t given this couple or the nosedive couple a second story there’s so much potential 😩🥰💖🌸
