Sun flower seed oil works great for pain and clove oil as well an cloves in tea as well as run hot steam shower an that will help ur face when swallowing try the oil tho it works
Hope you guys heal up quickly. Whenever we cross into CA and the inspector asks us "do you have any fruits, nuts, or vegetables" we reply "how did you know we're from Eugene"?
Years ago my Grandpa had to throw out a paper grocery bag of apricots from a fruit stand. Pained him because he really liked apricots. When he got home and started unpacking he couldn't find his bag of dirty socks and underwear... He did find a bag of apricots though...
Casey, after a video not too long ago where you were pinned under your truck, your wife's not going to trust you out in the shop on your own pretty soon! Hope all heals up and quits hurting quick for both of you.
I split my jaw in half, bang on the chin. My heart goes to you Casey I have no fond memories of jaw ache ;) However, fair play for cracking on and helping a friend get his dream car. Looking forward to the rest of the trip
Ouch! To both of you. Glad found the dream car. Casey I think you will not break any more teeth or bone again because I know you have learned something.
it's been a life goal of mine to meet ONE person that injured themselves doing something amazing. like breaking their leg while saving a school bus full of children or something. still looking.
I've been in both your places, I totally understand what Ben is going through with those bumpy roads, I've got multiple back problems. I had a race car come off the track and take me out, fractured my jaw in four places shattered both eye orbits broke the back of my skull fractured my neck, it was pretty bad. For several years I lived on Advil and ibuprofen but they damaged my kidneys. Now I take aspirin it's better for you and actually works better for pain. While I was in the hospital, between two surgeries, there was a race we were entered in and of course I had to go.. I snuck out of the hospital wrapped in bandages nasal cannula hanging out of my nose and was in the pits crew chiefing my car. As I snuck back into the hospital and there's commented on my greasy hands and the smell of exhaust and racing fuel. It may not have been a several day trip but I can literally say been there done that got the scars to prove it
Sorry about the teeth loss Casey. Oh and the bone Graf. Your still upright, so that tells us your healing really 👍. No infections ! See you tomorrow. Thanks for sharing. ✌🏻🤔 🙋♂️ 🌧 🇨🇦 👨🦽 😎.
That severe jaw injury from the swinging hoist is proof of how dangerous it is to work in a car garage. It must have been a nightmare bloody scene after that accident. Another person with such a traumatic injury would have taken a week off to recover from the emergency surgery on top of the dental damage. You are tougher than me, getting an impacted wisdom tooth pulled was my max. In my opinion, buying that "Dukes of Hazzard" 1969 Dodge Challenger R/T 383 Magnum V8 was not worth the trip right after the accident. Hope you had a good dentist to do the repair job.
WOW. You are definitely traveling injured. I can’t even imagine what those roads feel like to both of you. Stay safe and God Bless. Hope you put a giant padlock on the trailer and hitch.
I could write a book about back and dental problem experiences ... but not here. I have a pretty good idea on what both of you are feeling. Be careful, and if it hurts to do something, "don't do that!"
Welcome to SoCal! We pay that extra dollar for gas so that they will work on the roads🤕 San Bernardino County is the absolute worst I’ve driven around the whole country and as soon as I get back to San Bernardino my car starts rattling apart like I’m driving on dirt roads. Actually the dirt road I live on is smoother than most of the paved roads
Holy shit Casey! Thats a hell of a thumbnail, I haven't watched the video yet but damn man get some rest and get healed up, a fractured jaw sounds brutal!
Went to watch this video. Said, no views and 11 likes. Love it. Pretty sad that Oregon’s post winter gravel roads are better than California’s asphalt roads.
Ow !! (Well, Double OW...). Hope ya both heal well & quickly. Nice project, Congrats Ben, looking forward to the updates. Safe travels, hope ya find lots of interesting content, along the way. Thanx !
Hopefully you don’t develop an infection. Something that’s real good to help prevent and even fight an infection is Synergy drink . I buy em by the case from Walmart. Good travels to y’all .
For the hoist control, rig up a rope on a pulley, counter weight end by wall so that when you let go control, weight pulls control box ( jaw breaker) , up to area near mystery hook. 😀 the most awesome story of the week so far!
Wow you guys that's such an incredible find, nowonder you are on the rode instead of healing.. I would be also. Wait till you get out of ca to get fuel if you can.. Get well you two.
this is what a true solid friendship looks like jesus christ brother hell of a thing that happened to you im so glad your alright and hope you heal up fast
Sorry to hear about the bone graft. My daughter got one after getting some teeth pulled. We never told her that they used cadaver bone for the graft. We don't know how well that will go over with her.
Casey; I empathize with you and your jaw. I broke a tooth a few months back and now I am sporting a bone graft till they can do the implant. I broke the tooth ahead of where my wisdom tooth was and decided I wouldn't starve to death missing that one. Are you following your don't eat, don't drink list. Good thing I like applesauce, mashed potatoes and pudding. A classmate of mine in high school (Class of 70) had a Dodge charger (68?); painted competition orange. I rode with him one day on I5 south of Albany going back to school from something and he punched it up to 140. Sadly the next winter after we graduated he was driving the backroad from Brownsville to Crawfordsville, OR had a wreck which killed him and permanently disabled the other classmate of ours that was riding with him. Ben; Enjoy!
There is no better rehab than a road trip to help keep your mind off the discomfort vs sitting around feeling every minute of pain. Physical trauma takes about 36-48 hrs to go from injury to healing phase. After that, its all about optimizing blood flow to maximize healing. Take care to not push that jaw bone and the bone graft, as that will take a month or more to set properly. You could use supplements (vitamins/minerals) to aid in healing/recovery speed, w/ a mix of vitamins C, D3, K2, zinc, calcium/magnesium, as a suggestion. You can find these in combination quite often. The C, D3, K2 and zinc all work together to help catalyze the calcium/magnesium into useable repair material, w/ the K2 aiding in directing this material to the requisite areas vs your blood or somewhere else. Good healing.
Congrats on the car, my friend does frame off restorations & custom fab on street rod's & has a 68, its pretty sweet. Advil FTW, My Condolences on the 6.48 fuel, i will stay in Tx Get better Soon
Next time you guys want to run south, When you get to Klamath. Turn east and run down 39. In Cal thats 139. Get to the 299 and run into Alturus and then run south on 395. OTR drivers run this from the northwest to so cal all the time. Its faster. It don't seem that way. But its not 55 for tow rigs. Plus less traffic and cheaper fuel. My self i would turn east in Reno and pick up 95 to avoid the mountains. turn on nv 360 and follow that to US 6 and roll that into Bishop. take 395 all the way down to the 15 or pick up the ca 14 to make your way into north l.a.. Its a much faster way then the valley by far. Yes it seems like more. But it saves hours.
I remember crossing from Idaho into Utah years back! Just like California's highways today. My sympathies to both of you. Neither condition works with your separate injuries
OH NO you two are quite the motely crew! So glad Ben finally found his dream car, even if the timing is less than stellar. I5 and Portland have terrible roads. We have pot holes you can lose a first grader in it, I swear. Think that is a Pet food plant, that has to reek of dead body parts. OH CASEY you got your bell run hella hard. Ice that face! hope it feels better soon! I left SoCal in 94 and will never miss that hellacious traffic. Congratulations to Ben for scoring his dream car, that IS SO RAD!
I totally agree with you guys our freeways suck, I live in HESPERIA and the roads are so bad up here we ended up selling our 2018 Corvette stingray or the suspension would have distrayéndolas our backs from hitting pot holes. Hope you heal quick , nice to see you still have your cents of humor. Keep the shiny side up & be alert of the CHP for speeding
I was cutting down a large hung up tree, long story short; I used a 6 foot long 6 inch diameter log to do something stupid. The tree came loose leavering the log I was holding over a stump, slamming me in the side of the head. No permanent or serious damage, just moved me about 4 feet and erased a second or two of memory.
Yikes , hats off to you if all you needed was Advil ? Perhaps you should pad that remote so if it swings back again the hard case won't do anyone similar or worse damage . Congrats on your buddy getting his dream car , hope it lives up to it's expectations.
I have to go to work so I will not finish this video till tomorrow. However I love friends like you guy's! Hopefully everybody has at least one. Someone who come hell or high-water, they are right there with you! Pretty cool of both you guy's! I got to bail to work. See ya thanks for sharing!!
I know the pain of pain and long trips. Feel better soon! Nice car, the fact the dealership replaced it with a "like" engine of the probably same cycle engine means a great deal.
So sorry to hear about your injury, Casey. I am curious, though, where the bone came from for the bone graft? Did they have to surgically remove some bone from somewhere else on your body? Get well soon, brother!

It doesn't get below 32 degrees in Southern California, so there is no freeze/thaw cycle, don't understand the potholes. The extra high gas prices are partly taxes to fix the roads. Guess they're on a 200 year replacement cycle!
That's true down in SoCal about the no freeze cycles, but highways do wear and much of the 5 was built in the 60's, if not a bit earlier so it's due for a redo now. Back in 2002 when I lived in Culver City, I don't recall the 5 being bad however.
Wow, two walking wounded. Ben, I feel you. I know how bad it could feel. No fun! Congratulations on getting your Dream car . Casey. Good friend, no fun for you either, but as you said, if you didn’t go, it would have been gone! Take care, take precautions to secure the car so it doesn’t get stolen while you guys are down there and drive home safely 🤙😎
Ben is relieved that his Dream Car is in the trailer... The former Owner is relieved that after 3 and a half YEARS, he finally has Ben OUT OF HIS HAIR!!! 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Casey, I feel your pain with the jaw surgery...been there a couple times myself. If you stop at Flag City in Lodi, CA off the I5, give me a heads up and the Monsters and Advil are on me...
Working with a bad back today really makes me sympathize with you guys on those California highways. Great to see Ben get his dream car! Looking forward to future videos on this adventure.
Go check out Ben's channel here! czcams.com/channels/52WySxkYIqWGm6iLknl9Dg.html
The video of his new car should be up next week-ish
Casey LaDelle, what is your rates for off road recovering?
@@rkalkes I didn't know we were supposed to charge for it 🤷🏼♂️
Sun flower seed oil works great for pain and clove oil as well an cloves in tea as well as run hot steam shower an that will help ur face when swallowing try the oil tho it works
Hope you guys heal up quickly. Whenever we cross into CA and the inspector asks us "do you have any fruits, nuts, or vegetables" we reply "how did you know we're from Eugene"?
@Mike Devos I remember that spot anytime we headed to the Redwoods from Roseburg vis i-5. Pretty drive, but such a pointless stop back then.
You know the reason they call Cali the land of fruits and nuts is because of the government officials and Hollyweird
Years ago my Grandpa had to throw out a paper grocery bag of apricots from a fruit stand. Pained him because he really liked apricots. When he got home and started unpacking he couldn't find his bag of dirty socks and underwear... He did find a bag of apricots though...
Inspector: Do you have any fruits, nuts, or vegetables?
Me: You guys want more!?? Don't you have enough already?
Lol - so true!
Welcome to the jaw bone graft club. Different accident, same issue. I feel your pain.
Considering how many people have that as their dream car it’s a pretty good score to get!
We Californians pay a huge amount of money in gas tax to pay for those awesome roads.
Casey, after a video not too long ago where you were pinned under your truck, your wife's not going to trust you out in the shop on your own pretty soon! Hope all heals up and quits hurting quick for both of you.
If I was in Ben's condition, I would have put up with the California roads to get that car too. Lucky guy.
Casey you're a true friend to help him. 😇
That moment you know "You might have screwed-up "
I feel for ya !
I've had many of those moments !
BUT
🤣
Was my brothers first new car, what a ride he gave me one night. It's a wonder he is still alive. Wicked!!
and Ben even fixed dinner for you 3 at the end of the day! What a guy LOL
I split my jaw in half, bang on the chin. My heart goes to you Casey I have no fond memories of jaw ache ;)

But, the politicians always get their pay raises!
Sorry to hear you got hurt. I guess this proves that dumb stuff can happen to really smart people as well
So sorry for you. Hopefully you have a speedy recovery
Love the car!!! It is from my memories of such special cars!
Freaking awesome! Congratulations!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Man!!! I hope you guys gonna make it..... Nice ride Ben!!!

So Sorry for your mishaps😒 Praying for Both of Your Healing!🙏🏻 GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ABUNDANTLY🙏🏻😇🙏🏻
Oh man, so sorry to hear about your teeth, hope they heal up soon. Keep them videos coming 🙂
Well, seeing how he lost the teeth I doubt they will 'heal up' lol

Thanks for video Casey. I like your channel because it's clean and informative. May you and Ben have a blessed trip and be safe on the roads.

All I hear is you have an awesome wife! She let you go even though your recovering. I'll look forward to the next videos.
geez, get well soon.
I dislike the pain you guys are experiencing. On the other hand I like the video. Thanks for sharing and heal well!
I’ve had literal nightmares about your situation. Goddamn.
Hope you heal well.
Good luck sounds like you need it. Get well soon.
Bad back, pulled tooth been there done that I feel for ya 👍👍
You think those roads are rough? Try coming to New Mexico and check out our "state" trees! The orange barrel! Rough, rough, rough.
Damn Casey. I know that hurts. I don’t know many people who could road trip just a few days after your injury. You’re one very tough guy.
Sweet Car, my dad had a 69 that was totaled the day I was born, and replaced with a 70. Awesome cars.
Road trip !!!! WOW torture Backache an Jaw pain you pick the worse time to travel ever....
Hope you both feel better soon !!!!
I have to go to work so I will not finish this video till tomorrow. However I love friends like you guy's! Hopefully everybody has at least one. Someone who come hell or high-water, they are right there with you! Pretty cool of both you guy's! I got to bail to work. See ya thanks for sharing!!
I had 3 of those chargers back in the early 70s- 80s, stripped one down for parts to make another one great and the third was for spare parts
Synthetic bone
Dam buddy...I'm playing catchup on some of your videos, and see that this occurred 8 months ago. Although I am not a huggy person, I'd give you one because of that fractured jaw. I hope you got some good pain killers to go with that!
Years ago around 1991 I went with my uncle who had a garage in Fair Oaks California to pick up a 69 Dodge RT that had a good engine and auto trans. He had the transmission rebuilt . The body was straight, and when everything was done he got it painted and gave it to his oldest son. I don't know if he still has it or not.
Casey, I hope you and Ben feel better soon. I know the pain of the L.A. area. I grew up there in Boyle Heights. Rough neighborhood but I managed to stay out of trouble. I joined the USAF right out of high school so I could get out of Dodge and ended up making it a career. Arizona is home now.
6,48 /gallon is a lot less than we pay here in Sweden ! price to day is over 11$/gallon .
Ben may need lumbar fusion surgery to take care of that sciatic pain. I had it done and it took care of all the pain I had in my lower back and legs.
Casey, you need to get the Hotel Room Finder GPS App! 😃
Good luck on your personal recovery!
PS Back in the before times, I lived in L.A., the traffic was bad, but the highways were good.
Ouch!! Hope the both of you heal quickly.
looks exactly like road trip with good friend would look :D
Really sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you heal super fast. xx
Ben's has Great Taste! I've wanted one of those since I was a kid and saw the movie "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry"
I thought you’re in Honduras roads.
Congratulations Ben !!!
Hoping a quick recovery 🙏🏼
Keep it up with a GR8 spirit
Lived there S CA from 1965-1971. Parents moved back to Minnesota then.
Many reasons not to live in California!
Beautiful state but too many leaders & laws that are causing many to leave and many to stay away!
Ben is relieved that his Dream Car is in the trailer...
The former Owner is relieved that after 3 and a half YEARS, he finally has Ben OUT OF HIS HAIR!!!
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Sorry to hear about your face, hope it heals up soon! You’re one tough dude! 👊🏼
Love the way he puts the condition of your face! LoL! And I also hope that your face and jaw heals quickly! Ha ha, no seriously.....🤔😉😩
Wow, Casey, you are going to need an attendant in your shop, to monitor your safety. This probably tops when you got your foot pinned to the floor.
Ugh, that car. Can't wait to see it when he's done with it. Also, love your sweatshirt/hoodie, Casey!
