I'm Brazilian, my favourite sport is Figure Skating (I live in the UK) and wasn't expecting an interview with Isadora! I loved to know a bit more of her story, we don't hear about her much from Brazil unfortunately 😒. Thank you for that!
I love This and That and now seeing Isadora is just ❤️ I’m Brazilian, I’ve been living in Brazil my entire life. I have to say something. We love Isadora! We never questioned her nationality. She’s Brazilian and she’s representing Brazil pretty well. It was crazy here when she qualified for long program at Olympics. You could see her everywhere on TV. She also inspired kids to start skating. We don’t have many rinks but we have artistic roller skating very developed in Brazil. So even if they can’t skate on the ice, they can skate. Wish to see her at the Olympics again. She was just wrong in one thing. First time we had Olympics broadcasted live was in 1994 because of Nancy Kerrigan vs Tonya Harding thing. We couldn’t loose that 😀 but certainly it has grown in interest when she became to represent Brazil
It makes me wonder, if aljona truly wants to compete again, surely there is someone else. Anyone else. because before this, I wasn't even peripherally aware of tj nyman's name. There must be someone else for consideration. She settled when she doesn't need to. She's already aljona savchenko, she shouldn't have to settle.
Beside this being an absolute mess, I cannot imagin their elements nearly as big as hers with Bruno, and TJ's skills are not nearly as elegant as Robin's. So what's the point?
I love Isadora!! I was so happy when she qualified at the Olympics since she placed last at Sochi! The 2018 Olympics were amazing and I was on the edge of my seat/bed lol

Oh my goodness, Dave, I LOVED the interview with Isadora Williams! First of all, credit to you for bringing her on after she had an issue with your previous comments. But beyond that issue, It was great hearing from her, in the context of competing at Nebelhorn and the day to day life of what she goes through as somebody from a smaller fed attempting to qualify for the Olympics. But great show, and you handled her frustration with your comments beautifully. You know that’s why I love you so much… You remind me of me, as I have also been known to put my foot in my mouth a few times. :-) IT’S GOING TO BE AN EXCITING YEAR!! ❤️

I don't know about making her a copy of himself, but I feel like he's using her. He still needs to boost his celebrity status and create a career. Having Mariah skate this particular program and going to the Olympics as a coach is a pretty good start.
I've asked this to several people, is TJ even any good? From seeing his junior records as well as seeing video of him skated, I'd say he's mediocre, so I don't understand why Aljona bends and burns many bridges to form partnership with him. He is not even that pretty, we all know face sells but in his case not so much.

I really wish that Mariah would let a professional figure skating choreographer do her programs for this season. Her Britney Spears program was ok, but it was kind of empty until Nationals, after Shae Lynn touched it up. I know it's early, but this program looks a little empty as well Is it the money? I feel like she's letting Adam lead her where *he* wants to go. Maybe she's afraid he won't coach her if she says no to that choreography. This is just a guess. I can't see this program getting her to the Olympics unless her jumps are super clean. And I think maybe they'll send Alysa to Nebelhorn if she's improved as much as she did last year, though I'm sure that Mariah can earn us the spot if she's allowed to finish as low as tenth place. I really want her to have the Olympic experience, but I'm ambivalent about it.

I saw an old video where TJ and Sarah competed. She fell on a split twist badly. TJ didn’t even help her up. In comparison to how Artur Dmitriev and Maxim Marinin cared for their partners when they fell badly, TJ’s behavior shows no compassion at all. He is cold-hearted and is only making the argument he is a predator stronger.
I’ve been waiting for this episode since the infamous video was posted! God, what a mess. I’m actually waiting for the THIRD shoe to drop because this whole thing makes zero sense and is far from being over. Thanks for getting this video up and good luck at Nationals, Dave!!! ⛸ 💪🏾

As someone who used to come in dead last in my gymnastics competitions (I’m a Rachel Denhollender type) I’m always rooting for Isadora! Like surprise bronze medal!🤩
Aljona and Robin had no problem working with Ingo Steuer, former informant with the East German Secret Police (Stasi) to the point where the German Federation refused them funding. Why would she have a problem skating with someone accused of sexual misconduct. You can fete her all she wants,...but clearly she values her drive/ego for the sport over common decency. That's her choice. But let's be honest. Gross.
I watched some of Aljona and TJ's lift practice and can't say I was impressed. Looked very uncomfortable. Of course they have just started working together but I do think that Aljona could have found someone with a better resume. Not sure why she wants to go through the Olympic competition cycle again. I really liked her pairing with Bruno. He was strong yet gentle. Sort of an old fashioned kind of pairing, big strong guy with much smaller woman but it worked. The 2018 Olympic Free program was so wonderful and really holds up. I still enjoy watching it. I don't think that Aljona will be able to top that. Time to move on from competition perhaps? Besides, they don't have much time to get into Olympic shape if that's even possible as TJ has not won at the Senior level, correct?
We also won’t be seeing Kerri Walsh Jennings 3x Olympic beach volleyball champion (considered a GOAT with Treanor) and maybe not even Nathan Adrian, 5x Olympic champion/cancer story, and we have the struggles of Simone Manuel at Olympic trials all in addition to Morgan’s situation and how messy the USAG girls are this year. It’s just sad that many of my favorite stars that were setting up to peak in 2020 couldn’t sustain that peak for one more year and really shows how precise and extremely time sensitive these set-up scheduled peaks really are. This Olympics really is like a post Olympics season.
Jonathan's mic is crystal clear but yours is muffled Dave. My heart breaks for Aljona and the sleaze she's ensconced herself in. I still find it hard to believe the German Fed couldn't find a suitable partner for her. Sympathies to Liam.

He’s 36 years old so that’s out of the question if she’s thinking beyond 2022. Yes, she’s 37, but she isn’t the one who has to do the lifting. I’m sure TJ has a much higher ceiling.

Okay, I think I see want the problem is, Dave is super far away from his computer, Jonathan is close to his, which is why (again) I have to turn up my sound, to where Jonathan is blasting to be able to hear Dave at ALL. This came early! Wow, Aljona Savchenko and TJ Nyman...never knew who Nyman was, actually, until you guys posted about him. Not sure whether or not they'll actually be good; they're not making it to Beijing 2022, but this may not be Savchenko's goal anymore. I doubt Gracie Gold will make it to the Olympic team when Bradie Tennell, Mariah Bell, and Alysia Liu are there. Amber Glenn could also make the team, if she makes good on that 3A on the international circuit. Medvedeva in pairs? She could make a case for Milan-Cortina 2026, if she finds a partner and recovers from her injuries. Any news on Donovan Carrillo is great, he deserves to skate at the Olympics at least once in his lifetime. How many American pairs are quaking in their boots at Savchenko/Nyman, or the international pairs, for that matter? How high can Savchenko/Nyman go up the ranks at Nationals? It takes two the tango, after all...
I don’t know if it’s fair to say Karen is more liked internationally than the rest of the US girls. If you look at the actual component scores of international competitions from the last 3 years, Mariah and Bradie score similar if not higher in the components than Karen.
I wanted Aljona (and Bruno!) to come back, but yikes!!! Of all the people... That aside, divorce in Germany takes at least a year. Usually longer. 2022 is out of the question, so I don't get it. Even without the mountains of allegations against TJ, I just don't get why she'd do this.

I don’t understand why Aliona chose Nyman as a partner, because I think there are better choices, both talent and strength wise, but, I will judge them on what they put out in competition, not on her personal choices. If Nyman is found to be guilty, then this whole partnership will have been a waste of time, so, wait and see,,,, I think we are missing something from this story and until they release something, it’s all speculation. The whole thing only keeps getting weirder and weirder. She was a bad ass queen of pair skating, and now... who knows. And something might be coming for you, Dave. I still remember the threats after JC. Dalilah doesn't take criticism to her boys lying down. Mariah, well, I don't know. Isn't anyone going to scream cultural appropriation about this? A white girl trying to leverage herself on the history and struggles of an oppressed minority? 56:13 This is why I advocate not sending a specialist like Riley in the sixth spot. I say send a young strong AAer that is actually aiming to shine in 2024. Someone like the USSR would send, like Filatova in '76 and Galiyeva in '92. Olympic experience is so valuable, I would start her now-- and start building the story now for the media. Hell I'd send Konnor McClain if she wanted it. She's got the personality and the skill to really make a splash.

But is she Brazilian? I think she knows she's taking advantage of the system. If she skated for the country she lives in, she might not even place in the top ten at nationals. Dave, I applaud you for doing this interview with her, but she's delusional.
It might be tough for the US to earn a medal now that Russia is really working towards sweeping the ladies figure skating 2022 Olympic podium. The USFS can shift its focus and make a statement about diversity and inclusion during the games. pick Karen Chen or Alyssa Liu to represent the Asian American community, give Starr Andrews the support & funding she needs to get 2 quality programs to qualify, then Amber Glen to represent the LGBTQ. Although we all love a good comeback story and Gracie Gold certainly has one. She will skate the program that followed the jacket incident during the 2017 US Nationals!
A few months ago Starr Andrews was awarded the Mabel Fairbanks scholarship + matching funds for a total of $50K. Hopefully that will help reach her peak if she hasn't already.
Yes! I know Dave doesn't agree, but Starr doles have the raw talent and performance ability, if she's properly trained and finally has programs that suit her. I hope the dough she got from that commercial helps.

I watched some of Aljona and TJ's lift practice and can't say I was impressed. Looked very uncomfortable. Of course they have just started working together but I do think that Aljona could have found someone with a better resume. Not sure why she wants to go through the Olympic competition cycle again. I really liked her pairing with Bruno. He was strong yet gentle. Sort of an old fashioned kind of pairing, big strong guy with much smaller woman but it worked. The 2018 Olympic Free program was so wonderful and really holds up. I still enjoy watching it. I don't think that Aljona will be able to top that. Time to move on from competition perhaps? Besides, they don't have much time to get into Olympic shape if that's even possible as TJ has not won at the Senior level, correct?

We also won’t be seeing Kerri Walsh Jennings 3x Olympic beach volleyball champion (considered a GOAT with Treanor) and maybe not even Nathan Adrian, 5x Olympic champion/cancer story, and we have the struggles of Simone Manuel at Olympic trials all in addition to Morgan’s situation and how messy the USAG girls are this year. It’s just sad that many of my favorite stars that were setting up to peak in 2020 couldn’t sustain that peak for one more year and really shows how precise and extremely time sensitive these set-up scheduled peaks really are. This Olympics really is like a post Olympics season.

Why didn’t Ailiona pair up with Eric Redford? He already showed interest before having to skate with Duhamel. Plus, his past results has GOT to be better Bryan this TJ guy. It must be a romance.

He’s 36 years old so that’s out of the question if she’s thinking beyond 2022. Yes, she’s 37, but she isn’t the one who has to do the lifting. I’m sure TJ has a much higher ceiling.
I thought Vanessa James already has Canadian citizenship, so she was the obvious pick for Eric if he wants another Olympics. Or did I misread that?

Okay, I think I see want the problem is, Dave is super far away from his computer, Jonathan is close to his, which is why (again) I have to turn up my sound, to where Jonathan is blasting to be able to hear Dave at ALL. Still can barely hear Dave, but can only turn this up so much without the neighbors complaining. My last comment on the sound issue had around 20 likes, so it isn't just me. 🤷
And when they laugh it's really loud. Or if a commercial comes on, it's scares me it's so loud.

This came early! Wow, Aljona Savchenko and TJ Nyman...never knew who Nyman was, actually, until you guys posted about him. Not sure whether or not they'll actually be good; they're not making it to Beijing 2022, but this may not be Savchenko's goal anymore. I doubt Gracie Gold will make it to the Olympic team when Bradie Tennell, Mariah Bell, and Alysia Liu are there. Amber Glenn could also make the team, if she makes good on that 3A on the international circuit. Medvedeva in pairs? She could make a case for Milan-Cortina 2026, if she finds a partner and recovers from her injuries. Any news on Donovan Carrillo is great, he deserves to skate at the Olympics at least once in his lifetime. How many American pairs are quaking in their boots at Savchenko/Nyman, or the international pairs, for that matter? How high can Savchenko/Nyman go up the ranks at Nationals? It takes two the tango, after all...
Don't forget Karen Chen, who placed higher than Bradie at Worlds' this year.
I don’t know if it’s fair to say Karen is more liked internationally than the rest of the US girls. If you look at the actual component scores of international competitions from the last 3 years, Mariah and Bradie score similar if not higher in the components than Karen.
I wanted Aljona (and Bruno!) to come back, but yikes!!! Of all the people...
That aside, divorce in Germany takes at least a year. Usually longer. 2022 is out of the question, so I don't get it. Even without the mountains of allegations against TJ, I just don't get why she'd do this.

I don’t understand why Aliona chose Nyman as a partner, because I think there are better choices, both talent and strength wise, but, I will judge them on what they put out in
competition, not on her personal choices. If Nyman is found to be guilty, then this whole partnership will have been a waste of time, so, wait and see,,,, I think we are missing something from this story and until they release something, it’s all speculation. Time will tell,,,

Has Isadora voted in any Brazilian election? She seemed so upset about being questioned of her Brazilianness, and was sure to point out that she knows Portuguese, the Brazilian media has showcased skating, and a rink opened recently. But is she Brazilian? I think she knows she's taking advantage of the system. If she skated for the country she lives in, she might not even place in the top ten at nationals. Dave, I applaud you for doing this interview with her, but she's delusional.

It might be tough for the US to earn a medal now that Russia is really working towards sweeping the ladies figure skating 2022 Olympic podium. The USFS can shift its focus and make a statement about diversity and inclusion during the games. pick Karen Chen or Alyssa Liu to represent the Asian American community, give Starr Andrews the support & funding she needs to get 2 quality programs to qualify, then Amber Glen to represent the LGBTQ. Although we all love a good comeback story and Gracie Gold certainly has one. She will skate the program that followed the jacket incident during the 2017 US Nationals!
A few months ago Starr Andrews was awarded the Mabel Fairbanks scholarship + matching funds for a total of $50K. Hopefully that will help reach her peak if she hasn't already.
