    I've actually learned that if you're offsetting and trying to tab in to select all lines and it's not working you can off click once then tab in and it'll work for ya.

  • @rhandel13
    @rhandel13 Před 3 lety +2

    Try offsetting the profile in autocad to get the correct gauge of the sheet. You can't draw a line that is 1/64" long in Revit.

    This is beautiful, thanks for the tutorial. But using this system it's not possible to cut holes/create different openings shapes on it for doors, windows and etc, therefore, it becomes pretty much useless.

    • @DzanTa
      @DzanTa  Před rokem

      Actually, if you create this panel as a custom vertical wall, you can host a door or window in it. You can also use the wall opening command or face based opening command to make holes. Since it's a wall, you should be able to Edit Profile too.

  • @adrilemmen
    @adrilemmen Před 4 lety +1

    Thanks for the video! I need to edit the profile of the curtain wall to a round shape. When I edit it, the panels that are being affected by the profile, Revit is automatically changing them to Glazed panels and it is not letting me use the corrugated panels. Any thoughts on how can I resolve this problem?

    • @DzanTa
      @DzanTa  Před 4 lety

      not sure what you mean by round shape....custom profiles for curtain panels need to be simple with not too many complex curves...otherwise, it defaults back to glazed panel. Hope this helps

    • @adrilemmen
      @adrilemmen Před 4 lety

      @@DzanTa Thank you for your prompt reply. It is also happening when I put a wall opening. I have my curtain wall set it up with my vertical grid spacing at a 3' fixed distance and my horizontal grid at 20', that is the actual panel size given by the manufacturer. When I make a wall opening for my 7' high door there is reaming 2' panel. This 2' panel is the one that Revit is changing to the glazed panel instead of the corrugated panel.

    • @DzanTa
      @DzanTa  Před 4 lety +1

      @@adrilemmen you may have to delete the panel and recreate it custom. Hard to diagnose.

    @derrickpayne58 Před rokem +1

    When you guys make these videos it would be helpful to load it and use it in a model as a demo and show how it interfaces with a sloped roof above and window openings. The problem with using curtain walls as the motif is that this family wont attach to the underside of an angled roof and it also doesn't like clipping for windows..doors yes but not windows.

    • @DzanTa
      @DzanTa  Před rokem

      Curtain walls can attach to the top of a roof. You might have to edit profile to make it work. Panels can be swapped for panel doors. Or, you can swap a panel for a wall and insert a door in that wall. I have another video that shows the application of it...just dig into my channel. You'll find it.

  • @davinhartley6099

    Hi Dzan, thanks for video. I am having an issue getting the corrugated part of the panel to repeat. I get two section of corrugated panel with a big stretch of flat space that grows with the size of the wall.

    • @DzanTa
      @DzanTa  Před 3 lety +1

      That happens sometimes. It is due to the amount of bends. Make a profile that has less bends for the panel or make a bend as a mullion profile and repeat the mullion instead of the panels.

    • @davinhartley6099
      @davinhartley6099 Před 3 lety

      it should work in 2017...this is just making a custom family. the principles apply to the family, not the version of the software. If you can send me a video of what you are doing, I can better understand where it isn't working for you.

    Nope. Cant create sweep. Error cannot be ignored. Followed this video to the letter at least 10 times in Revit 2021.
