Maverick Quantum XT Flux | BMX Track Run

- In this video I run the Maverick Quantum XT Flux at the local BMX track. Before the run I changed the shock oil to 32.5w (400cst) silicone oil because the supplied shock oil was way too thick. I also told the grub screw out of the rear gearbox joint and put some thread lock on it before reinstalling it. I think the truck ran very well and was a lot of fun. As you'll notice in the video it does spend some time on it's roof as it tips over quite easily when jumping or sliding. In all is a really fun truck. Enjoy!

I got one of these in a job lot and it looked mint and worked great , it looked like it had been used once , but I found the two tabs on the rear diff case that the shock tower is bolted to had snapped so I ordered two diff cases so I had a extreme for future crashes £5/£6 so cheap enough, I replaced the rear diff case and added two zip ties to add some strength to the front and back shock towers , it’s a weak spot so the zip ties should help , and after a few outings and a few bad landings no breakages so I think it’s worth doing , I just wish I could post a picture on here as to where I fitted the zip ties but it’s easy to do guys , great video mate keep them coming , stay safe guys ...

I am very impressed to what it held up to, always took it easy with my Quantum MT because I was worried about it being fragile (still feels it) but this put my mind at ease a little
Me too, I think it did very well. I did bend the rear axles though, but nothing a hammer won't fix lol. 👍

Hi Mick, a great run indeed, you can hear the sound difference in the motor, between 2s and 3s LiPo packs. Awesome tough RC. Oops didn’t want that spoiler anyway! 😁😊😉🇬🇧take care and best wishes 😁😊😉

These are not bad , we have 1 and wife hasn't broken it yet. They do go well but I'm still freaking out how good the optima goes . Your fault Mick , shouldn't have showed me the old stuff. Ha,ha .

It does mate, sounds quite different. It's all good again now mate, I've "fixed" the wing. Drilled out the broken mounts and put bolts through it 😁👍

Lol it took heaps. I noticed later the rear dogbones are both bent too but I don't think that's too bad given the amount of tumbling and dodgy landings it had.

Don’t think I’ve seen a video yet where the wing on these doesn’t break…other than that common little issue it seems like a fairly durable little rig everywhere else that can handle a few tumbles,would like to see HPI do this in a 1/8 scale version in the future.

Looks like you had fun apart from flying into yourself Mick . Might be worth refitting a wing even if it's a sacrificial thing 🤔 to help protect rear end next time it lands on rear end

I am new to your channel but when you show maintenance I don't see any actual maintenance. I just miss a video on this subject, with a tear showing how to it. By the they I am new into rc hobby.
This wasn't intended to be a maintenance video or an instructional video of any kind, it was merely a run video (as the title states) but I explained that I changed the shock oil and checked that things were tight. 👍
I have a handful of HPI Maverick trucks..I like them all.. HPI updated them quick after the V1's had some issues with the arms and stub axles..Check my Quantum MT video to see what i did to help fix the stub axle issue..The HD axles are better but they still needs a slight mod

You need to learn how to jump that thing, get it to land on 4 wheels otherwise its not going to last 5min !!!
There was 20-30 minutes of footage trimmed down to around 4.5 minutes and I only broke a wing mount, your comment is invalid! I guess I should have only shown the good landings and pretend everything if rosy like other youtubers.
