Shannon was incredibly gracious to Skip on their last episode together, giving Skip his props. They had great chemistry together and I liked their debates, even when the debates felt slightly contrived at times. Shannon pulled his weight on Undisputed and I think you underestimate his charisma. Shannon leaving the seat is THE main reason Undisputed is suffering.
The BassMaster Elite part, man theres no reason to be depressed throughout the day if you watch at least one video from this channel and if you do, you have some issues in that case i advice you to actually be like Sports Illistrated 😂
To be honest I stopped watching Undisputed a while ago. Skip had someone to balance him out with Smith and then Sharpe. I actually only liked him in a duo (the same with Smith - I haven’t liked him since Skip left) On his own the rhetoric gets to be too much for me honestly. It seems like he is the grumpy old man shaking his cane at the younger generation. I am not referring to him as a person just his media personality. I don’t know him but from what I’ve seen others say about him personally he seems like a good guy.

I think undisputed gets a decent amount of hits on youtube. Maybe focusing heavily on shortform podcast clips would be better. The current model is archaic. Clear the overhead, big staff, pricey studio. Get with the times. Also maybe stop others from posting his content too.
His gimmick of always having a black cohost was fine when they were very entertaining reasonably intelligent and could speak in coherent sentences. When he has to resort to guys like Keyshawn and Irvin who can't string words together in a way that makes sense (coming across illiterate) it leads to awful TV.

I think had Skip been interested in things other than sports (like Stephen A clearly was/is) they could've both been bigger than they ever were (or are now) by leaving "First Take" and just doing a daytime talk show on a network on a show geared towards men and men's issues. Have different celebrities and athletes and kind of be "The View" but for men. Like imagine when "Once in a Time in Hollywood" comes out and as part of their press tour you have Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt sitting down with Skip and Stephen A as they shoot the you know what.

This decline actually started to happen way sooner than the Demar Hamlin situation in my opinion. I think it started when Skip took things too far during his debates with Shannon Sharpe. For starters, whenever they would debate about Tim Tebow, Skip would always call Shannon's resume as a football player into question, and even went as far as to say Tim Tebow was a better player due to the nature of their different positions. Naturally, this offended Shannon because you need to remember athletes in general have a lot of pride in what they've accomplished. And considering Shannon is a hall of famer, and Tim Tebow is one of the biggest busts in NFL history, you can imagine how insulting that was. And the thing is, Skip didn't seem to care because he was so used to debating with other sports gurus in the media, and tearing down their credibility during debates unapologetically that he didn't realize that was going to tear his relationship with Shannon over time. And it especially got worse when Skip called Shannon a scrub on live TV just because he didn't play as many years in the NFL as Tom Brady. That's a huge insult there too because Skip didn't factor in the fact that a) you can't compare Tom to anyone else because what he did in the NFL is unexpected, and it's likely to never happen again. He was a once in a life time generational talent, so it's not fair to Shannon to be compared to him. Plus, Shannon's position is a lot more physical at tight end than Tom's was at quarterback, and that takes a heavy toll on your body as well. However, you could tell Shannon wanted to beat up Skip on TV over those comments, and he even admitted that too on First Take, on Steven A Smith's podcast, and his own podcast on club shay shay. Skip messed up when he started to tear down Shannon's credibility just to try to win debates over Tim Tebow and Tom Brady imo, as the Demar Hamlin situation was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I also think the reason for the decline in ratings is that fact that after Shannon left, Undisputed was off the air for over a month while they looked for replacements for Shannon Sharpe. First Take was still on the air, so all those fans that normally watch Undisputed gravitated to the competition because Undisputed wasn't on the air anymore. And when Undisputed came back, it struggled to gain back it's audience for varying reasons. Say what you want about Steven A Smith, but he has great chemistry with Shannon Sharpe on the air, which is why the ratings are so high whenever they're together. Skip hasn't found a partner after Shannon that has the same level of chemistry. The closest he has is Michael Irvin, but the problem is that since Skip loves making over half his topics be about the Dallas Cowboys, it's problematic because Michael Irvin has literally the exact same opinions on the cowboys as skip does. It's not really much of a debate if two guys are always agreeing with each other, and that's the problem. I think Skip needs to retire. I remember when he first started doing shows like Cold Pizza that helped start the sports debate show genre back in the day, and he made a name for himself being unappolegetically blunt about his opinions. Now, he's trying so hard to pander and censor himself that he's not even half the man he once was. I remember once he even admitted publicly that he told his wife, while they were dating, that she'd always come second in his life to his job. Maybe, it's time he starts making her first in his life, and retire because this'll only get worse as time goes on. Either he needs to dig deep down and become the same unappolegetic jerk he once was, or he needs to retire and spend more time with his wife that he's been neglecting for years. Either way, he needs to do something and soon.

For me im sick of hearing Skip talk about the same topics over and over again. There is so much going on in the sports world and watching his show is so limited in whats going on out there. If they expanded the shows topics, i bet ratings would increase. But how many times do we need to hear Skip babble about the Cowboys or Lebron ? Im sick of it. That is my #1 reason why i dont watch the show anymore. I stopped watching when Shannon was still on the show !!! lol.

I think it’s mostly his corny attempts to win over the black audience. After the Damar Hamlin stuff combined with Shannon sharps leaving, he was getting dragged on social media as racist. So he started wearing chains and talking about lil Wayne constantly.

This decline actually started to happen way sooner than the Demar Hamlin situation in my opinion. I think it started when Skip took things too far during his debates with Shannon Sharpe. For starters, whenever they would debate about Tim Tebow, Skip would always call Shannon's resume as a football player into question, and even went as far as to say Tim Tebow was a better player due to the nature of their different positions. Naturally, this offended Shannon because you need to remember athletes in general have a lot of pride in what they've accomplished. And considering Shannon is a hall of famer, and Tim Tebow is one of the biggest busts in NFL history, you can imagine how insulting that was. And the thing is, Skip didn't seem to care because he was so used to debating with other sports gurus in the media, and tearing down their credibility during debates unapologetically that he didn't realize that was going to tear his relationship with Shannon over time. And it especially got worse when Skip called Shannon a scrub on live TV just because he didn't play as many years in the NFL as Tom Brady. That's a huge insult there too because Skip didn't factor in the fact that a) you can't compare Tom to anyone else because what he did in the NFL is unexpected, and it's likely to never happen again. He was a once in a life time generational talent, so it's not fair to Shannon to be compared to him. Plus, Shannon's position is a lot more physical at tight end than Tom's was at quarterback, and that takes a heavy toll on your body as well. However, you could tell Shannon wanted to beat up Skip on TV over those comments, and he even admitted that too on First Take, on Steven A Smith's podcast, and his own podcast on club shay shay.
Skip messed up when he started to tear down Shannon's credibility just to try to win debates over Tim Tebow and Tom Brady imo, as the Demar Hamlin situation was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
I also think the reason for the decline in ratings is that fact that after Shannon left, Undisputed was off the air for over a month while they looked for replacements for Shannon Sharpe. First Take was still on the air, so all those fans that normally watch Undisputed gravitated to the competition because Undisputed wasn't on the air anymore. And when Undisputed came back, it struggled to gain back it's audience for varying reasons. Say what you want about Steven A Smith, but he has great chemistry with Shannon Sharpe on the air, which is why the ratings are so high whenever they're together. Skip hasn't found a partner after Shannon that has the same level of chemistry. The closest he has is Michael Irvin, but the problem is that since Skip loves making over half his topics be about the Dallas Cowboys, it's problematic because Michael Irvin has literally the exact same opinions on the cowboys as skip does. It's not really much of a debate if two guys are always agreeing with each other, and that's the problem.
I think Skip needs to retire. I remember when he first started doing shows like Cold Pizza that helped start the sports debate show genre back in the day, and he made a name for himself being unappolegetically blunt about his opinions. Now, he's trying so hard to pander and censor himself that he's not even half the man he once was. I remember once he even admitted publicly that he told his wife, while they were dating, that she'd always come second in his life to his job. Maybe, it's time he starts making her first in his life, and retire because this'll only get worse as time goes on. Either he needs to dig deep down and become the same unappolegetic jerk he once was, or he needs to retire and spend more time with his wife that he's been neglecting for years. Either way, he needs to do something and soon.
