So what is a Prominent Ear? A prominent ear or bat ear is an abnormally protruding human ear. This is a condition that babies have since birth. Other kids might tease school-going children with prominent ear conditions causing their confidence to shattered even further and making them self-conscious.
Hence they wish that we should set their ear back to look aesthetically normal.
A solution to this condition lies in a small surgical procedure called Otoplasty. In this surgery, the area around the ear is numbed using local anesthesia. The patient will be conscious during the surgery. After the area near the ear is numb, a small portion of skin is extracted from behind the ear and cartilage modification is done.
