  • (重點提要) 高精準度電池管理系統(BMS)可有效延長電動車駕駛距離
    德州儀器(TI)台灣策略客戶業務總經理馮偉意在專題演講中表示,TI有超過八萬多顆不同IC,包括類比IC與嵌入式IC,全世界有超過十萬家客戶,應用在各式各樣領域,其中又以車用領域應用最受關注,因此TI也持續增加晶圓廠、測試廠與全球物流中心,以因應車用晶片需求快速成長與汽車產業供應鏈挑戰。
    馮偉意指出,汽車電池系統(BMS)的監控,對於電動車的普及來說是很重要的核心關鍵之一,因為透過更準確的電池監控系統,可以延長駕駛距離;透過新的充電策略與技術,可以提升充電效率;透過整合式IC架構,簡化BMS設計難度,便能進一步降低成本。因為很多電動車駕駛知道,在高山或低溫環境當中,電動車駕駛里程會出現高達四成的差異,電池會受到外界環境影響運作效率。以最常見的鉛酸鋰鐵電池來說,BMS如果能將電壓監控從10mV誤差率提升到1mV誤差率,便能有效延長鉛酸鋰鐵電池電動車駕駛距離,而TI新推出的BQ79731-Q1與BQ79718-Q1晶片就有這樣的功能。
    由於TI是業界第一家在BMS有很完整的IC解決方案,因此能提供參考設計,縮短廠商開發BMS產品所需時間。因應未來電動車發展,TI將持續在BMS有進一步技術改進,包括高準確度的電池/電池包監控晶片;無線BMS單晶片可減少電池模組更換複雜度與降低線材重量;更小的隔離IC可以在縮減解決BMS尺寸及成本的同時,還能達到隔離可靠度要求;透過自帶ASIL-D認證的MCU晶片,TI免費提供符合AUTOSAR Coding平台讓廠商使用。以上等等改進都是在於協助廠商更快開發高效率、易管理且降低成本的BMS產品,並且能通過車規驗證。

    COMPUTEX TAIPEI will return from June 4 to 7, 2024 with the new addition of the Smart Mobility Area. To promote this update, the COMPUTEX Team organized the Auto IC, Driving the Future forum during SEMICON Taiwan on September 7, 2023.
    One of the speakers joining the forum is Mr. William Feng, General Manager of Texas Instruments Taiwan. Texas Instruments designs and manufactures semiconductors and various integrated circuits with focus on developing analog chips and embedded processors.
    In his speech, Mr. Feng stated that vehicle electrification is a huge project that everyone can cooperate on and diversity is a key advantage for long-term stable growth.
    Currently some people are still hesitant to adopt EVs due to 4 main reasons: charging speed, full charge range, cost, and battery safety. Solving these factors will rely on the battery management system (BMS) in terms of accuracy, efficiency, etc. especially because the accuracy will fluctuate based on road conditions and climate.
    The current BMS error rate for LFP batteries common in EVs is approximately 10 millivolts. If this error rate can be reduced to 1 millivolt, the car’s total range might be extended by up to 101 kilometers. Other upgrades such as wireless BMS will also be able to help reduce weight of the battery junction box as well as help make repairs or replacements easier.
