Hey friends! Today, we are riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for the first time, and I’m so excited to share my experiences with you. We were lucky enough to ride during the fireworks at night! Let me know what you guys think of the ride and I hope you enjoy the video!

@@e.fleming3580 yeah - they need to highlight that it is Louis back there. I also think Tiana, Louis and Mama Odie are too close together at the trippy drop. You can hear mama odie talking over Tiana - it needs to be spaced out a bit more.

That’s why they do these so they can fix issues before they open! Hopefully they will have it taken care of before regular guests start riding

Splash Mountain had tension build up before the big drop...the vultures, the music gets really serious, Br're Rabbit tied up and about to be eaten. Bayou Adventure has no build up or tension..."Let's make you big again so you can make a big splash at the party!" What the hell is wrong with Disney?

Anyone else notice the gator animatronic was broken already? The Disney POV showed its mouth and eyes moving. I will say the ride looked awfully dark too.

I promise you he is under warranty and the repair man has a call to get his you know what to the ride asap, but probably after previews.
The ride is dark so they can hide the nothingness throughout
Ok a couple of things I noticed. 1) no villain 2) The Louis animatronic mouth was already not working. Two when you go outside at night not much to see just looked dark. More theming could be done there. No real storyline. It kind of just looks unfinished in spots
It definitely looks unfinished…and I read somewhere that the voodoo part was offensive so they left it out.
Only true disney goers can appreciate the passion for fireworks while on a iconic ride. We got stuck on mine train 2 weeks ago while fireworks were going. I was screaming, hooting, and hollering like a child.

I was really excited for this ride , but it kinda looks like a boat ride through random vegetable gardens and some scattered animatronics without any charm. Very boring to watch, hopefully it’s better as a ride.
That's exactly what I thought. Other than the finale, where everyone's partying, it was kinda lame.

I was never a huge fan of Splash Mountain, but it was a great way to cool down. I've been so excited for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I feel like it could have been more, but maybe it's one of those rides that is better in person. That's how I felt with Mickey's Runaway Railway. Everything is better when in person.
It is so sad they didn’t put the villain in there and don’t even put Tiana in her princess dress at the end.
Disney says the voodoo part is offensive now. I’m not kidding…

I'm surprised they didn't include Dr. Facilier in the ride. It could have really helped add some depth to the story.

Don't think I like it very much, just being honest. Seems a little lacking in the story department, and I really miss the villain aspect that Splash Mountain had and the scary and suspenseful build up to the big drop at the end. It just seems very plain, but that's just me. If I can ever afford to return to Disney World I am sure I'll ride it, but I do miss Splash Mountain.

It's simply boring and incredibly lackluster.
It completely falls flat and Imagineering clearly missed a perfect opportunity to make it a great ride for all, sticking with the original storyline with an iconic villain and music we already know and love! Wilderness Explorer Tiana gathering vegetables and spices is like a bad sequel we never wanted or needed going straight to video or Disney+!
That's why Tokyo Disneyland didn't change the ride, they know a bad ride idea when they here it lol. Never should have changed the ride in the first place. A once and done ride indeed.
Disney made Tiana a kids ride, but it has a 40” height requirement…
This truly is a kids ride lol. It’s got the competence of a Dora episode, as one person said. “Can you help me find my ingredients? Good job!”

I've seen a few POV videos now, and my critique is they need to fill in some of the blank spots where there is dead air. Can't have nothing going on for 15+ seconds when rides only last a few minutes. Also the plot of the ride needs to be tightened up. Why is Prince Naveen only shown once and placed in the background? So some final touch ups need to happen, but over all I'll give the ride a 3.5 out of 5 stars. With some more work, a 5 star ride is possible.

Your review of Tiannas Bayou was the most open and honest review I've seen about this ride. Thank you for that. Thank you for not giving in to the sensaionalism of the hate train that has gone on before it ever came out and people actually rode it. It's hard to find the truth when everyone pushes their opinions on us and it's nice to see truth with no bias. Great video! 🎢🎠

Not enjoying a ride doesn’t put you on a “hate train”. I’m glad Nate liked it, and I enjoy seeing him happy, but I also appreciate the honest opinions of other people who don’t like everything at WDW. Disney isn’t perfect, and they’ve made plenty of bad choices, some of which they later recognize. Hearing all views prepares us even more for our trips, including Nate’s.
The truth is that it's not very good, even though you don't happen to agree, and exactly why it's getting universally panned by everyone, even those who had high hopes for this new attraction. But you, just like others, are entitled to your own opinion, so enjoy!
Tianas looks good but the music doesn't hit like "zipadee doo da" or "how do you do". I'll forever miss those songs on that ride.

Would have been better if it was the actual movie plot. So you can bunch of voodoo dolls shout "are you ready?" Before being thrown off edge to the other side.

Embarrassing how bad it is, you either go in with a good team and high budget for such a beloved attraction or don’t touch it at all. You don’t take a favorite e ticket attraction and turn it into a painfully boring boat ride with mostly plants, statues, two stationary Louis butts, screens, and so much more low budget things.
You’re going to the party, let’s get to the party, we need animals for the party, we need smaller animals at the party, they’ll sound great at the party, you’re almost at the party, wait 35 seconds with nothing happening for the one Tiana to say “I hope they all come to the party to play” (12:50), party, party, party. And then you have like 30 seconds of them standing around with screens in the back singing as the actual “party.” No thought out storyline with an arc, no suspense, no ADVENTURE, honestly when I’m about to board I’ll just say can I go backwards to that party scene there and skip the 20 lines about going to the party and “THEY CAN PLAY!” lines about some animals whose arms move up and down on top of a drum? Just terrible and sad.

Honestly, it was boring. I live near Gulf Coast Louisiana. There are no hills, or mountains. It's flat, and has swamps. Alligators, and crawlfish. No bears. They should have left the ride the way it was originally, and done a separate ride with an Airboat theme to make it more authentic.

It’s not a mountain anymore, though (hence why it’s not called Tiana’s Splash Mountain). It’s a salt dome which is found in Louisiana. If you also live in Louisiana, you’d know they have bayous. That’s apparently what you have mistaken swamps for this whole time. Also, maybe do some basic research on wild life because there’s literally a species of bears called the Louisiana black bear native to said state. Maybe next time just admit you don’t like the ride instead of making embarrassing excuses like an uncultured goat. Lastly, it’s funny how you tried to claim some of the animals’ placement were incorrect when almost half of SM animals were also incorrect.
That ride looks lame
Splash Mountain had a better storytelling, for sure. And more Animatronics. And was more fun, had more color and a real sense of “Adventure”. Princess Tiana deserved a really new ride and not just a sort of makeover. Well, just my opinion. I have 50 years visiting WDW once a year and I think there are some attractions that You can label as “classics”. Pirates, Mansion, Big Thunder, etc… Splash Mountain, for me, had that status. It was a classic! You can improve, add new effects, do such things, but never get rid of them. But, again, It’s just an opinion from an old (and I mean it) Disney fan. Have fun, folks! ✌️
When people were wanting Splash to be rethemed I was hoping it would be rethemed to Moana, changing the mountain to a volcano.

This is the first complete POV ride video I’ve watched of this redo. It seemed very dark through most of it and didn’t understand the storyline if there was one. I think I could have gotten the same effect by walking around the French Quarter resort after dark.

I think the question isn’t whether the ride is good, but whether it’s better than what it replaced. If the answer is “no,” then the re-theme was a let down. I think they should incorporate the shadow man, at least a ghost of him, into the ride to give some tension.

This is the best POV yet, thank you so much for not using one of those awful low light cameras. I love that this video has the actual lighting of the ride. Take note other ride channels, the low light cameras stink and make every ride feel like a lights on experience. Great job. The ride looks pretty lame but this video was great.
I thought this was fantastic. To those who are complaining things were not working that’s why they do these previews. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Nate! I had high hopes for this new ride but unfortunately, I agree with Bob Iger himself about the experience. He said the ride is completely lackluster and incredibly boring. I feel that the storyline as well as the new music falls flat and the Imagineers totally missed the mark for this.... Stick to the original story and plot, keep the iconic villain with the music and songs we already know and love! It's getting universally panned everywhere because it is not better than the previous ride, nor even equal to Splash Mountain, and it is essentially a downgrade for most. This new upgraded version of Wilderness Tiana feels like a very bad sequel we never asked for or wanted, which ultimately ends up going straight to Disney+ or home video.
The best part was when it was over. Bunk
All the utter darkness made me think of jump scares at Halloween Horror Nights! Kids might be uncomfortable in total darkness for so much of this ride. It wasn't exciting. At all.
Actually, if they had kept the atmosphere and energy from the finale scene throughout the entire ride, it would have been cute. 🙃
That landing from the big drop to fireworks was awesome!!! Magic happens all around if you just take the time to appreciate it and you do that so well, Nate!!❤

I think it’s going to be a great ride for kids!!! When it was splash mountain it had this scary feeling and lots of little ones would cry.. but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure seems like it has a really cool/fun vibe the whole way though! I can’t wait to ride it 🎉
that’s true! although the tension in splash mountain was what made it fun i do agree that this one might be more enjoyable for kids. i think that with the re-theming more kids will want to go on it as well. no hate to splash mountain but if i was a kid i would be more likely to try a scary ride if it had characters i knew ☺️

Its seems like a completely different ride at night. Those lighting effects give it a totally different feel. I gave the DAY POV a fail grading on my Disney scale. Night looks good. If I ride it, will be at night.

I’m sad that I not as impressed as I’d hoped. It just feels a bit like something’s missing, the scenery is absolutely beautiful though! I think it might just be the story?. Not sure! I’m also kinda bummed the screen parts with the characters were in their 2D form from the actual movie and not 3D. But I hope to change my mind once Disneyland’s opens up and I can go.

Nate, you are the best! Absolutely love your vlogs. As far as Tiana's Bayou goes, not a fan. It is an absolute disgrace that the Disney replaced an iconic ride like Splash Mountain with this stripped down, cheap version of a ride. RIP Splash Mountain... gone but never forgotten.

Man, I like REALLY like this ride! And I never liked Splash Mountain. Makes me sad the bulk of comments on every video are the reverse. IMO, this is a BIG improvement!

Disney really needed to knock this ride out of the park with Epic Universe opening next summer. In my opinion, they missed the mark and now they don't have any major attractions set to open for the foreseeable future

Exactly, I thought the animals were oddly clumped rather than naturally all over...the music is too repetitive and needs to be broken up more...early on it was just too dark in the dark and needed at least some low lighting...man you should have seen horizons, world of motion, the original imagination (never liked the new one...they removed all of the imagination and cool things the original had, it was beautiful and great catchy tune)...but always tell ppl it was cool seeing the "future" there of people being able to video chat with their families through the tv and that basically became our reality

It looks like a great ride I think they did a wonderful job repurposing splash mountain. You can't please everyone. Thank You Nate for taking us along for the ride and front row at that. Fireworks were a bonus for sure and good to see Gracie at the end.
They could have done MUCH better. I’d rather ride through the plot from the movie, so many lost opportunities for story telling.

Ok, i just finished watching this. Here are my thoughts...
First off Splash Mountain was getting dated physically as a ride. The animatronics were amazing when the ride was new 30 years ago but now they seemed outdated and a refresh was definitely needed.
The Pros:
I love the subtle nods to the original Splash Mountain. That was a really nice touch.
The music! The music sounds absolutely amazing!! Every bit as catchy as "How do you do". And it flows flawlessly throughout the ride.
The scenes. Everything looks beautiful for the most part (I'll also get to that in the cons) as far as the physical sets are concerned.
And of course the animatronics! OMG! Now there are nowhere near as many animatronics as there were in Splash Mountain but the ones that they do look incredible! Every movement looks so natural and fluid. Their expressions look spot on. Some of the best animatronics I've seen (as they should be!).
Now the cons... There are only 2 but IMO they are pretty significant cons!
The scenes.. I know I just said how nice they looked.. EXCEPT for when they had animation. At least for me, it just totally took away the magic and take me out of the moment! One minute I'm looking at the best animatronics I've ever seen and then you think by following it up with a cartoon I'll be just as immersed? If you want to use it to enhance the background with projections that is one thing but the cartoon characters just ruin the atmosphere for me. I would have much rather have a few more animatronics (maybe recycled) or even very basic ones instead of the character projections.
And...
The story! Or should I say the lack of a story. Maybe I missed something or audio didn't pick it up but I think Splash Mountain was THE BEST at story telling. Every scene meant something, every dialog was purposeful. There was mystery of how the ride was going to play out... Would Brer Fox get Brer Rabbit? He got caught? Why the Briar Patch? And of course the happy ending! This just seemed almost storyless to me. In this new ride there really wasn't any wonder or excitement, no villain.... It was almost exclusively music and singing.
Well, is it a good ride? Looks to be but is it a great ride? That is up for debate and I really can't say one way or another until I ride it. Is it better or worse than the former? My initial opinion is Disney cut too many corners with the character animation/projections instead of animatronics. The lack of an immersive story is also a major downgrade to me as well. I'm not sure when I'll get back there but I will definitely be riding it. Hopefully actually in person will be better (but I can't wait to see those animatronics!)

Wish it was Moana. Imagine the Away Away song during the ride!! It could have been so epic and still loved!! But nope. Disney seems to thrive on fails of late.

Well…. Of course… but some attractions just do not “need” an antagonist to improve their story…. And was fun conflict and suspense in Splash Mountain..
Small world and space mt weren’t based on stories or movies. No comparison to be made there.
For all of those Splash Mountain fans, Tokyo Disneyland still has it and it is still open.
And is also just a much better operated resort.
