Old City Jerusalem, the 14 stations of the Cross in the Old City of Jerusalem. Let's travel to the Old City of Jerusalem and let's discover all fourteen stations of the Holy Cross. Let's walk together in the Old City of Jerusalem and along Via Dolorosa and I will describe to you what took place in all 14 stations of the Cross and in each station! We will end up inside the Holy Church of the Sepulchre where Jesus was crucified, I will explain each station of the fourteen stations of the Cross in detail.

Thank you. I was fortunate and blessed to be able to visit the holy land twice in April 2015 and sept 2016. We walked the Via Dolorosa at 4.30 in the morning both times to avoid the crowds. I was raised in a Franciscan parish as a child. It was the Franciscans who started the devotion in their parishes back in the years when Christians were not permitted to visit the holy city when it was ruled by the Saracens. It was only in 1905 that the Vatican gave permission for all Catholic Churches to hang depictions of the stations on their walls. As a child we worshipped in a huge gothic church and every year on Good Friday at 3pm a thousand or more people would turn in unison and face a depiction of each station placed on the walls of the perimeter of the building while one of the priests read a meditation on what the pictures represented. It made a lasting impression on me. Even at that young age my fervent wish was to walk the stations in Jerusalem. Sixty years on, God granted my prayer. We left Scotland on Easter Sunday that first time and arrived in Jerusalem the next day. Since the Orthodox Church celebrates Easter a week later than the Roman rite it meant that I was able to visit Calvary on “Good Friday”. God is so good, He provides for all our needs. Alleluia.

Vic, I have put your marvelous video on pause to say this. I can't even imagine what it would be like growing up in such history. In the West, boasts are made of the economic progress this, economic progress that in that last 300 or so years. But looking at you, I'm just overwhelmed that you're standing on history that reaches back much farther than a mere 300 years, a history is felt vividly after lo these many years. I just couldn't imagine being where you are. Vic, seriously, I think I would faint just by the mere thought of being there.

Hi Jay, history has been the main reason that greatly contributed to my decision to stay in Europe; I could travel to a variety of historical places, as I have done over the last 6-7 years without having to spend days in airplanes and airports. Even flying to Tel Aviv from London was not such a big deal altogether.. Can I please ask for your opinion on a certain matter?
