@@neils971 Well, crowded house are a mix of Australian and New Zealand musicians but it’s more about respect of Indigenous cultures which unfortunately Australia doesn’t do. But our Aboriginal people also make beautiful, soul moving music. It’s just not included in our mainstream.
I played these songs to my mum on Sunday. I thank you Six60 for making these beautiful songs. My mum had small cell lung cancer, she lost the ability to talk properly just nearly able to spit out words that make sense. On Saturday 14th November I got a tattoo just for mum, the next day 15th I play her music, playing fading away and some other songs including bon jovi songs that she knows, me and nana were able to get her to sing some of the words- again just bearly. And then on the 16th of Monday i arrived around 5 or 6 just finished work, I came to see that mum was laughing and she let me hold her hand (she doesn’t like holding hands and so this meant a lot to me). Monday 16th November 2020 at 9:10 mum started to have a seizure and me and my older sister left to go home and have dinner. Then at 9:20 Bronwyn Ann Pescini stopped breathing. Dad who was with her called us at 9:30 to let us know. I was able to play Mother’s Eyes at her funeral that happened on Thursday 19th November. It was beautiful. There was over 100 people; of friends and family, there were bagpipes and there was a haka all dedicated to the loving and caring mother to many- not just to her children, but to those that didn’t have family or didn’t have the support that they needed but Bronwyn gave them that and became a second mother to many.
Oh my heart goes out to you. Your mum sounds like she was everyone's Mum! Arohanui e hoa and remember how proud she is of you and how you made her laugh. 💚☮

Matiu has the one of the most beautiful singing voices, another great performance. Six60 is so versatile (loving Fade Away), definitely the BEST band to come out of New Zealand, even though i grew up in the Split Enz era and they were pretty amazing too!!! Our whanau are looking forward to seeing you in Wellington in February. :)

New Zealand has better bands than anywhere else in the world, despite only having a population of 5 million. This is ONE of NZ’s best but people only consider them THE best because they also make pop music. Check out L.A.B, Katchafire, The Black Seeds, Herbs, Kora etc...
