A Legend indeed! Thank you Franco Harris for all the excitement and memories you gave us (Steelers fans!!) On the field! RIP Franco!
A very sad day in the Steeler Nation. RIP Franco
Not a Steeler fan but my dad was. He told me Franco Harris was one of many greatest football player to be on the Steelers. R.i.p to the "immaculate reception" player Franco.
Franco went to Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, New Jersey. He graduated with my sister and his brother Giuseppe was a good friend of my youngest brother. He built an Italian style house for his mother right next door to the high school.
What people don't remember is Pittsburgh had lost a hero a year earlier in Roberto Clemente. The Burgh was ready for anew heroand they got it in Franco Harris!
Actually, Roberto Clemente died the week following the Immaculate Reception on December 31, 1972. Another sad coincidence, the other Pirates legend of the 1970s, Willie Stargell, died the night before PNC Park opened.
@@MrRubybare I was eleven and a huge Pirates and Steelers fan… Roberto was my ultimate hero. I will remember that week forever.
RIP Franco Harris. May God Bless. I was watching the game with the emasculate reception - wat a finish. He was both a great player and great individual.
“Immaculate”, though your adjective may describe what it did to Raiders fans lol
the man was the ultimate badass on the field... total class.
As a Penn State and Steelers fan I watched him throughout his career. I met him and Jack Ham when I was ten. That was fifty years ago. Thanks for your gracious words, James Brown.
Franco was a great athlete but an even better man. Steeler Nation is mourning his loss.Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times. He was a man of integrity.
Seem like only yesterday on my Dallas vs Steelers electric vibration metal board 70's"football game that I was peeling an sticking the number 32 on the Steelers molded plastic man that was designated as a running back. Time flies life is sooo short.
Our childhood back then was so much fun 💯
The real Franco was much more coachable ; )
RIP Mr. Franco! You were reason I felt in love with NFL.
Wore my Franco jersey to work today. 32 Forever!
Franco Harris May Him Rest In Peace.
Franco and Rocky in the backfield none better.
Don’t forget Frenchie!
Such a sad day in in the football world
Wow wow wow good brother TNX
This man was a giant and should have been given his
Due years ago!! His number should have been retired first before any Steeler!!
RIP 32
God bless you!
James Brown looks INCREDIBLE for his age. What a Superman! Thanks for your kind words for one of my big heroes. RIP Franco
"I saw James Brown at the old Howard Theater in D.C. and again in Rocky Mount N.C. many years ago, and you sir are no James Brown".
We froze to watch them...thank the Rooney Family and my brother Lee for buying the season tickets.May they both rest in Peace.
WE ALL GREW UP WITH FRANCO AND REMEMBERING THE 70's STEELERS ... HE WAS ABLE TO MAKE MONEY OFF HIS NAME FOR A LONG TIME...🖤💛
I sure wished the NFL was like it was in the 70s . Things sure have changed. I was a very young little girl in the 70s and l remember the over joyed excitement of the Steeler games. Sadly the NFL has become political ,thanks to Kapernick .
a hero of a man- really... Knew him from Pizza shop in East Liberty
the only reason why i rate 'the immaculate reception' as the third greatest play in n.f.l. history behind the goal line pick by malcom in super bowl 49 and the top-of-the-helmet reception by the giants
against the pats is b/c the harris catch was not during a super bowl. yet, stunning was putting it mildly
Back when people were just plain people.
The man just died, and the female anchor is laughing. What is wrong with this world?
It's filled with people like her.
She is celebrating his life. She is not being disrespectful.
I'm a Pittsburgher so probably I bit on edge but she showed no respect to Franco.
@@davidmitchell6873 She ain't celebrating his life at the 45 second mark where she says "The Immaculate Reception was a little before my time" and proceeds to laugh hysterically when introducing James Brown. There are ways to honor someone's legacy, and that ain't how you do it. Sorry.
What kind of coincidence that he would die just a few days before the 50th anniversary of that memorable play. Unbelievable
Thought the same thing
She bursted into a guffaw while reporting such a legend's death.😡
Cackling hen
