Not a Steeler fan but my dad was. He told me Franco Harris was one of many greatest football player to be on the Steelers. R.i.p to the "immaculate reception" player Franco.

Franco went to Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, New Jersey. He graduated with my sister and his brother Giuseppe was a good friend of my youngest brother. He built an Italian style house for his mother right next door to the high school.

What people don't remember is Pittsburgh had lost a hero a year earlier in Roberto Clemente. The Burgh was ready for anew heroand they got it in Franco Harris!

Actually, Roberto Clemente died the week following the Immaculate Reception on December 31, 1972. Another sad coincidence, the other Pirates legend of the 1970s, Willie Stargell, died the night before PNC Park opened.

RIP Franco Harris. May God Bless. I was watching the game with the emasculate reception - wat a finish. He was both a great player and great individual.

As a Penn State and Steelers fan I watched him throughout his career. I met him and Jack Ham when I was ten. That was fifty years ago. Thanks for your gracious words, James Brown.

I sure wished the NFL was like it was in the 70s . Things sure have changed. I was a very young little girl in the 70s and l remember the over joyed excitement of the Steeler games. Sadly the NFL has become political ,thanks to Kapernick .

the only reason why i rate 'the immaculate reception' as the third greatest play in n.f.l. history behind the goal line pick by malcom in super bowl 49 and the top-of-the-helmet reception by the giants
against the pats is b/c the harris catch was not during a super bowl. yet, stunning was putting it mildly

@@davidmitchell6873 She ain't celebrating his life at the 45 second mark where she says "The Immaculate Reception was a little before my time" and proceeds to laugh hysterically when introducing James Brown. There are ways to honor someone's legacy, and that ain't how you do it. Sorry.
