  • This is the Colossus black hole mod for Space Engineers 2024! A cool giant black hole that will pull in objects with a maximum force of 15000g and a reasonable range that allows it to be a fun addition to survival mode! I go through this mods and how it works, how to spawn it and what happens at the centre. To finish it off I then test it out by spawning a black hole next to a planet to see the effects it has to the poor engineer sitting on the surface!

As a fan of both Space Engineers and astronomy, I figure I'll drop a small bit of info for those interested.
Those jets erupting from either 'pole' of the black hole are called gamma ray bursts. They're recognized as the strongest explosions out there. In just a couple seconds, they output more energy than the sun will produce in its lifetime. (So you could imagine the type of damage that'd inflict if that were pointed anywhere near our Solar System). They are also EXTREMELY bright, easily outshining entire galaxies in some cases. Those jets are quite long as well, often a few tens of not a couple hundred light years in length.
It's cool to have something like this in the game to play with. Also thanks for the video!

I don't know why but I have this irrational fear of falling into black holes lol

that's not irrational! you really should not want to fall into black holes

@@jh5kl Technically it is, since there’s a trillionth of a chance of it actually occurring to him
Any phobia is irrational weirdly enough, as long as you’re either excessively scared or the thing scaring you is unlikely enough. It doesn’t make sense but that’s how they’re classified

Melanoheliophobia, not a fear of falling into black holes, but a fear of black holes
