I recognize this color as dirt from breaking pads. He had laid the carped into a truck stop or a gas station, maybe a workshop for trains or something. And it had been wet, the green color has to be from algae.

Unless a rug is rubber-backed, ALWAYS turn it over & SHAKE it out! Wash & scrub the back, too.
Get MOST of the
SAND/DIRT OUT of the that RUG! It falls OFF our shoes/boots, & settles to the very bottom, & then will literally CUT the fibers off, & then makes it look like it has a heavy, worn 'track.'
The REAL reason of that 'worn/track look is ALL due to sand/grit that cuts fibers similar to a KNIFE! Yep. ✅ And, for those who understand that, THAT is the REAL REASON WHY people are asked to REMOVE their shoes. YEP!

I’m convinced this is the process people do to their rugs..
Step 1: Throw in mud, and put in freezer for 1 month
Step 2: Ur rug is now frozen, go to ur nearest active volcano and throw it in there. Wait 5 days
Step 3: purchase a lava proof suit for $1000000 and dive into the volcano.
Step 4: Your rug is now on fire, but no worry! Throw it into the ocean and let the water slowly eat the flames away (wait another 3 days)
Step 5: Now that your rug is probably charcoal, and surprisingly not disintegrated, hold your rug over the volcano, again until you see obsidian starting to form around it.
Step 6: Smash the obsidian open.
Step 7: Throw in mud (again) (for 2 days)
Step 8: Now burnt to a crisp, (and dripping with mud) throw ur rug back in your fridge for 1 day.
Then your ready to get it cleaned xx
