Love that Ragdoll tune you opened with, especially that pre chorus
That pre-chorus is SO FUN to play. Totally getting our King's X on there
Thank you Leon!!!Best video on this module!
Glad you think so! So fun
Too kind!
The irony of a sound of silence reference on the thumbnail wins the internet for the day. Glad that physical hardware is properly bolted in for the heaviness. Keep the flammables away! 🔥
;)
Have yet to hear a Synergy module I didn’t like. And I love this one. If anything could tempt me away from my Marshall this would be it. So many flavors and textures.
EXCELLENT...As always.
Enjoyed this One a lot. Freaklish delicious tones
Chunky!
Hello Leon, you are the master of demoing! Love all the sounds you got out of the Synergy DRECT, Cheers, be well!
Thank you kindly!
So close to hitting 100k subs. Wishing all the best!
great TONE Im fall in love with this module DRECT :) amazing sound for homerecording..YEs it has thie RECTO elements character
Sounds great! I have the deliverance, vai, ectasy and peavey modules. And finaly a rectifier module in the synegy eco system.
It's impressive how well Synergy have done considering that so much of the sound of a Rectifier comes from the power amp, particularly with the lack of negative feedback in modern mode. The module certainly sounds rectifier-adjacent, in the same way that the Mesa Rectifier Recording Preamp was very similar, but was still missing that extra something. Would be very interesting to hear it through a 2:100 power amp to see if the right power amp would really nail the recto-thing.
Yeah they've done really well in that regard. The presence control gets pretty close to "the thing" as well
Yeah, it's pretty dark/bass heavy...so glad they added the Presence control...it's obviously not a true Power Amp Presence but it really adds to the flexibility.
Not a recto based poweramp (at least I don't think) but out of my Mesa 2:fifty it sounds insane
Dude...a comparison between this module and your Rev G is a must!!
Absolutely!
Throwing the Synergy Soldano SLO preamp module into the mix would be amazing.
@@Robstafarian Ooooh...Totally!!
Delighted to see some of your settings had the mid all the way up and treb all the way down, which was how I used to dial my 2 channel. Never seen anyone else try that.
Works well hey!
Nice. You get an extra thumb up for the "Black the Sky" snippet. \m/
One of the heaviest riffs ever!
oh man, you know how set up a Rectifier.
Would like to see a comparison between this and the IICP module. They’ve nailed the Recto tone.
Sounds awesome ha. @3:20 In that clip, there's actually some bass for once and that was mint. But then you dial it back and it's got thinner again, like you said, more Marshall style.
I wanna try one of these and use it with the power section of my Archon... it would be interesting to hear the results..
Need Gallien Krueger 250RL module with clean / dirty with that echo and chorus. 🤘
Oh wow 😮sounds pretty dam recto to me!! The new CE pickup's sound perfect for that module.
Like Vegemite and Butter!
@@LeonTodd Auzzy staple 🙏
This is miles away from my thing, but I heard so much of it in the '90s that I am tempted to get one. Out of respect, I would buy a Synergy Soldano SLO module at the same time.
I'm really liking it and want to add this to the collection. Drect+ metal zone= cannibal corpse 😆
This is like the third video I've seen now and I'm on the verge of liquidating literally every other tube amp I've got. Synergy was actually started up when the other amp guys got a little cheesed that Bruce Egnater built a super transparent yet distinctly voiced power amp and then had a modular system that "mimicked" (copied) other tube amp's preamps; now I think he just sits around and lets the collective cabal of partners decide what modules to let into the stable next.
I have a feeling that I could probably get by with a Synergy platform and an AMPX would be nice (when it's finally released) and really not need anything else, for home or road.
EDIT: I just realized that treble all the way up on the red mode is basically a build in rangemaster lol noice
Yeah, I think the Module really captures that trick from the real am where you lower the Treble and push the mids.....it;s a cool tone.
With regard to Synergy, I am most looking forward to the SYN-20IR head and (one day) the Sound City preamp module.
SAVAGE
Cheers from Texas!
🤘😺🤘
Duuude!!
(Opening track) That sounds epic!
Definitely has some
Ty Tabor flavor 😁
???
I’ve been wondering,
Do those units generate heat; all jammed into the modules?
Some hotter than others?
Peace
Michael Francis
Total King's X vibe! They're no worse than any other tube amp heat wise.
Awesome Demo! I hope Synergy paid you for that one ;)
"gimme a dollar or gimme fifty cents..." no ranting from me this time. Thanks for citing Kings X ....great riffing. had the joy of having a rev 1 recto for a year on loan... orange was crunch heaven... owner wanted to sell it, took it back. kruspe from rammstein was interested but was beeing an ass, so my friend keot the recto. just a fun amp. starting to Gas for synergy. are there any lunchbox /tinyterror sized 15watt amps for the modules?
They just put out a lunchbox sized head to load modules!
What power amp did you use for this video ? Seems very important for a rect preamp, would be nice to compare the soldano preamp to the rect too, apparently they are almost identical (in the real amps) and the power amp is what makes all the difference.
Synergy 5050
Blind Revolution Mad!
Haven't heard that in a minute 😅
Yessss!!!
@LeonTodd man, SUCK a good album. Oddly enough, i was just a teen when that came out. Hated it! Wasn't until people on a forum (harmony central amp forum) convinced me to give it another spin. I dug it immediately after years away from it. Great, great stuff.
Does the tonestack actually behave like a Rectifier does?
love your vids! but this one gets a like especially for my favourite AC/DC riff RIFF RAFF !!!
Mine too!
DRECT + IICP = Mesa Greatest Hits? 😮
A multi channel Mark/Recto in a syn2!!!!
I always said a PRS into a Recto is a cheat code (play some Incubus!). Shootout with the new ToneX Mesa’s?
Battlestar Scralatchtica time!
I call PRS into a Recto the Nickel Back thing or 2000s rock radio. It sounds great problem is it’s what everyone sounded like for a while there, am I the only one who thought there was a spell where everyone’s “heavy” guitar tone sounded the same at least the major signed artist you’d hear on the radio between 2000 - 2010 ?
Nu Metal did it first, way before that. And Metalcore. It was the best tool in the box, the best blunt instrument lol. Besides, a lot of these bands had clean parts which the 5150 was not great at and jcm800 was not clean or dirty enough to pull off the tones either.
@@R3dbudd yeah but to me at least the nu metal bands weren’t copping the same or very similar tone out of their rectos. I’m not hating on the Recto at all. I just got board of what everyone was doing with them, the heavy rhythm guitar tones were pretty similar on a lot of heavy and hard rock bands.
There’s a lot more amp diversity now, thankfully. Mid 90’s to 2010 was mostly 5150/Recto for major “produced”bands. Mesa had a better marketing team at the time. Peavey was for “the poors” in lotta peoples eyes.
It says SINERGY 5050 at czcams.com/video/qbga83ABAJw/video.html for the gear chain?
After watching the video, while it pretty much does that flabby, soggy low end mid scooped mess distortion, I (and others) likely would've preferred an SLO deluxe that we're likely not going to get.
Mostly agree. This module is cool in its own way. But it feels like we've been waiting for that SLO Deluxe for a year.
And since the original Recto circuit was basically a copy of an SLO, releasing this almost seems like a slap in the face to Soldano. Or maybe I'm overthinking.
@robertmosack2532 it kind of is, frankly. Maybe it was done for an artist while not being a signature module, I don't know. Either way, the SLO module should've had the ability to at least get the crunch and high gain channels from the head like the 6505 module. I wish the 6505 module had a II/+ switch on the board.
Was this a rumour or something syn- made suggestion to? The deluxe.
@@darellvilleDave Friedman mentioned it on his CZcams channel.
drec-t 🤣
Sounds good, but they already make an SLO module 🫢
The difference being the SLO has mids and lots of them. This is scoopy land
Shouldn't this be identical to the SLO module? lol
Leon if you increase that grip and sharpen those claws anymore those strings are gonna be cut in half
and you'll officially be inducted into the George Lynch clinch Mob .. RU taking lessons from Lupin on how to sharpen claws like razor sharp mini daggers .. 😺
That sounds mint.... Gotta love a recto ! 🤘 Set em like a Plexi... Bass down ... Everything else up and you're good to go 😅
You know it :D
Hello recto my old friend 😅
I'll be singing that all morning now mate 😂
"I've come to chug with you again"

Weird als in trouble
Sure, the Recto's great and all, but is that Eldorado Fortress back there!!!???
Well spotted!!!
TTD: 5m 10s (Time to Dogman)
🤣
Are you using the Synergy Power Amp too ?
yes
Yes
Anytime the mid was cranked, I thought it sounded decent. Anytime the mid was set lower, I thought it sounded dreadful. The treble can stand to be lower too.
Sounds like a Dual Rec for sure... Still don't like them though lol
They are such an acquired taste hey!
Give me a dollar! (Or give me 50 cents)
This module destroys every fuckin cheap or expensive modeler/profiler out there.
