Actually, the letters Prince Philip wrote to Princess Diana were read out in court during an investigation into her death. Those letters were very supportive; with Prince Philip saying he knew exactly what it was like to marry into that family and could he sympathize with her to a certain extent. Also, it is well documented that Prince Philip's mother risked danger in order to provide shelter to a Jewish person during WWII. She had to be so secretive that even members of her own family didn't know what she had done until years later after the war. When they found out, they said it wasn't surprising as that was the kind of person she was. P.S. - It is also documented that Princess Diana responded to a couple of Prince Philip's letters, after that she ignored him - as that was the kind of person she was.

He may appeal the ruling but the chances of a reversal of judgement are pretty slim. Please don't take my warning so personally. It was done for the benefit of the general public.

There is no 'al' in this man's name.
He arrived in the UK several decades ago from Egypt - the source of his wealth is unknown.
He first hit the British headlines when he had a high profile spat with 'Tiny' Roland, the highly controversial chairman of Lonrho conglomerate for control of Harrods.
He made several unsuccessful applications for British citizenship. - He blamed his failure on the "establishment' and seems to have harboured the conviction that the Duke of Edinburgh was the culprit.
He claimed several times that his son had proposed to Diana Spencer and that they were engaged - there's never been any official endorsement.
He has never accepted the fact that had his son not made the decision to drag his off-duty driver out of a bar, and leave the Ritz Hotel that fatal night, the underpass accident would never have happened.
The last mention of Mohammed Fayed in the British media was a little while ago when it was reported he was being investigated following complaints from several young women of him making inappropriate suggestions in return for employment.

Phillip is really s Dane - Denmark was one of the only countries not Europe not to aquiesce to Nazi pressure and as a result all jews in Denmark were smuggled out to Sweden during the occupation. This resistance was led by the Danish royal family. It's true his brothers in law fought for Germany. He had no control over that. He served in the royal navy in several engagements in the mediteranean, in the Atlantic, Indian Ocean and later in the Pacific. He was one of the most experienced officers in the service and a highly competent naval warrior who fought in real battles from 1939-1945 against Nazi and Japanese forces. He was a brave and respected leader who fought for his country when the chips were down. Dodi Fayed is an over privileged whinger whose son died in a car accident. Unable to face the fact that this was partly his fault for encouraging a drunken flamboyant lifestyle he clutches at straws claiming MI6 wanted him dead (As if the secret service would have wasted a bullet on him) thus aggrandising his son. He then tries to blame Phillip as if Phillip sits in a dark room twirling his moustache and ordering assassinations from MI6. He can't avoid the scrapping of Britannia or change a hospital opening but he can get people whacked on a whim. This guy is a loon. He should stick to selling overpriced tea at Harrods to Americans.

Al-Fayed is furious because his son got together with princess Diana and Al-Fayed's drunken driver drove at crazy speeds leading to a fatal accident where his son and Diana were killed (They weren't wearing seat belts). He can't accept this and has made up a personal theory of his own that Prince Phillip ordered the British secret service to kill his son. It's utterly absurd but there you are. Al Fayed's background is rather mysterious. Where did he get all the money to buy Harrods? That's never been properly explained. Anyway, Phillip, even if he did want Diana or Dodi dead, he has no more power than I do to order the government to murder people. He has made racist comments but there's no evidence that he ever supported the Nazis. He was a British Naval officer (He met the Queen when he was the officer cadet ordered to show her around Dartmouth and she fell for him that day) and if you search around you'll see to all accounts that he was a brave officer and had intended to make the navy his career. Churchill was far more worried that the Queen's uncle who abdicated to marry was a far greater security risk. His wife, Wallace Simson too. So while I understand that Al Fayad is grief stricken I doubt Phillip had anything to do with Dodi's death any more than I did.

Lena, read my comment, im not making an opinion on whether the monarchy is right or wrong just a fact that al Fayed cries that he wants british citizenship and he talks like that about the people responsible for handing them out ....not very smart really

You don't need balls to denigrate the Royals on TV- knowing damn well that they will not retaliate. Now, if he said that about ME, an ordinary commoner, I could sue the shit out of him, and probably would.

KingsWorld2015 You got to admire ignorance? Crassness?
I'm sure the Royals are fully aware - and so was Princess Diana. The fairy tale (Romeo and Juliet ) display featuring Princess Diana attached to Dodi in a department store is insane! What you hear from Al-Fayed is what Diana's children would be surrounded with. The Princess would never allow this to happen - her Sons were her true loves - and would never put them in harm's way - with Al-Fayed's hatred towards the Royal Family.

That much hatred is toxic. Difficult to face the fact that alcoholic driver and old car was his responsibility. He left his son in charge, not a very bright person and not used to be responsible and take charge. Poor Diana ousted from her family for refusing to continue the lie about her “husband” and state of her marriage. She had to accept invitations and favors from people because of the miserly and vindictive divorce settlement. Where could she take her boys to be entertained and safe ? Taking her HRH and security that goes with it she was on her own to fight for herself as best she could. Even if they didn’t do anything actively to contribute to her death the sheer neglect of her financial and security situation was designed to be a disaster waiting to happen. They wanted to prove to her that without them she was a nobody her fame didn’t mean anything. It was her character and decency that was a shining light for everybody to see that nobody could take from her not even death. They haven’t mentioned her name in 22 years, not the Queen nor Charles.
