- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share this new What's for dinner video! Fall Soups!! I made some really amazing meals this week and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! Fall, and Autumn inspired week of dinners! It's a good one this week! The great thing about making a week of soups is that many of the recipes have very similar ingredients so it would be very simple to meal prep and grocery shop for! Simple, staple ingredients that are not only family friendly but easy to throw together and absolutely delicious! I hope this gave you some dinner inspiration / dinner motivation! I hope you try them out and enjoy them as much as I do!

I love this lady. She’s every crazy mom rolled into one! I particularly like how she’s used the heck out of the cutting board and never took the tag off. Me too!
I have a kid that LOVES to remove tags so thats her job in my house other wise they just stay on LOL.

On this rainy, chilly South central PA day, I made these soups to put into my freezer. We're taking the turkey and bean "stoup" to my in-laws this evening. You've helped me look at new recipes as less intimidating! I've always felt so much pressure to do EXACTLY what is written which makes my anxiety see a recipe and say, "okay, we're getting pizza!" Watching you is inspiring, so thank you!

I made red beans & rice once and the beans never got tender. Later, I learned on a cooking show that you're not supposed to add salt UNTIL the beans are cooked, because the salt keeps the shell intact & they can't get tender (or something like that). I grew up in the north; we only had beans in chili or baked beans & those were canned. That's my excuse lol

Kim. If you want a curry without having to do anything - apart from chopping the veg into bite size pieces ( cauliflower potatoes cut beans onion garlic 2 chicken breast. Curry paste or powder and coconut milk seasoning a little tomato puree and turmeric powder.. in the slow cooker. All day…. And you can also cook the rice early too. May save you time. X

If you need to thicken anything you can thicken with arrowroot powder or cornstarch. Typically I use one of those for thickening gravy or sauces instead of flour since we have to do a lot of gluten free here.

12:08 - I've make that w/ kielbasa, no beans, we call it polish soup. We, my son & I love it, not sure why no one in family loves it like us. But I always bring the boy 1/2 of it, if not more when I make it. The boy: he's married 2 kids, 6' tall,, 33yrs old, but he's still my baby boy, always will be.

In my country we burn an onion over a fire before adding it to the soup and it gives SO much flavour. You can also heat it up in a dry pan

Tip for getting maximum juice out of lemon or lime. Put uncut lemon in the microwave for 20 seconds then cut and juice

You just use more to garnish. I bet you loved the fresh herbs. Parsley, yum! If you want to save it from wilting, you put it in a jar if water do the little stems get done refreshment. Those soups look so yummy!!

Kim I Don't know if barley is off the menu because of allergies, but I use pearl barley in soups I make in the slowcooker often in place of pasta. That might be an option for you to use to break from potatoes all the time now. Hope this helps =) Karen
Kim, peel those bananas & put them in a zip bag in the freezer. We do it all the time & they are great for shakes in the morning or cooking later. Freeze them in chunks if you can, but you can also chop them easily from frozen. LOVE your videos❤️❗️

I have a crock pot recipe for you 🙂 you put 2- ,chicken breasts in your crock pot. Then an 8 oz. Cream cheese, then 1 packet of Italian dry seasoning then 1 can of cream of chicken soup. Then you cook all of that in your crock pot for about 5 hrs on low. Then you take the lid off your crock pot and stir everything. Then you add 1 cup of cheddar cheese , put the lid back on and continue to cook it for another hr. Its soo good 😋 I hope you try it on your channel sometime😊

Mirepoix is what i think you mean by the three main vegetables mainly carrot onion and celery that are used as a base as they are considered aromatic vegetables. Hope this helps! 😊

I always had trouble cooking dried beans until I switched to the insta pot; super easy!

My mom "makes" Minestrone every Sunday, for the week, with either chicken broth or beef broth and it's simple. Aldi sells 1KG bags of frozen veggies for Minestrone soup, all cut up for you, easy peasy, and it's a really good soup! No need to even put a lot of spices in, the vegetables are that good. You do still have to cut up an onion and get that going before throwing the bags in. My mom makes 4/5L of soup every weekend with 1 and a half bags of the frozen veggies.

On the lentil stew try a little red wine vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar. Deeper flavor and less sharp acid.
Buy some lemon thyme for your soups. Super yummy. You can prob order some dried online. Thyme makes way more flavor than parsley but parsley is a major visual enhancement to me. I don’t use it as much as thyme though.
Check out a recipe for a Greek bean dish called Fasolada. Super yummy and Avalina would love it. You have to order some Arrosis brand Gigantes beans to make it. They are dry and require soaking and cooking but seriously worth it. They are like butter beans but huge and hold their shape.
I serve it with some goat cheese on top and it adds a little creaminess on top of the beans.

I made turkey pumpkin chili in the crockpot and it turned out so yummy. We topped it with sour cream and cheese and Fritos...yum!!!!! ❤💚💜💙💛
