i directly stole this from dumpsterfire) peak algorithm stuff: Friday Night Funkin' (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s. The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song. Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The Truce takes place before X-Tale, in which Error!Sans and Ink!Sans both create a truce, supposedly for the better of the multiverse. No more destruction no more creation.

I love the retake man this sounds awesome, animations would be great but it sounds incredible including the lyrics voice and etc.
Great job! the lyrics for jerry could use a retread (-2) but i like the vintage effect placed on everything, (+1) my god. This song is (chefs kiss)
with the transitions in-between are seamless (+3) your charting is meh with the intro notes not matching up with the vocals (-1) I like how smooth the static posses are, they really blend nicely into the song (+2) No animation (You could have recycled so much from the aethos mod for a remake that's a big letdown) (-3) The background art is amazing and the scene transition is too! (+4) The recycled assets are well put together (+3) Though I wish you made your own icons (-1) The song DIDNT have sling and the marvins audio doesnt make me wanna kill myself (+1.5)

This is 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍! But i only have 3 complaint. Im guessing this might not be finished, if so, add cut sences. The lyrics parts looks weird and unpolished. 2, the lyrics are really quiet. 3, marvins first phase is kinda goofy. I would rather him be a little bigger or thicker. Take note from the og aethos design. This a really good retake though. The voice of jeffy in the lyrics part is funni

This mod is pure slop, its trying too hard. This feels so so so empty its saddening to me how this is supposed to be a retake yet it feels like a downgrade.
honestly i agree, Rotten Smoothie did it better as a "retake" despite it being made to poke fun at the original Aethos. (although it sounds miles better)
