    With great respect for Jake Hicks, someone with so much talent and skill and with so much modesty, down to Earth personality. I think this is what we are missing in this day and age. So glad to see that RGG EDU put a focus on him and his work.

    Hello Jake Hicks Photography is this picture taken with the first or second curtain flash?

    • @risbill1
      @risbill1 Před 6 lety +1

      Did the flash fire at the beginning or the end of the exposure? That will give you your answer.

    • @JakeHicksPhotography
      @JakeHicksPhotography Před 6 lety

      This is front/first curtain. So the flash fires at the start of the exposure and then the movement happens afterwards.

    • @userten4340
      @userten4340 Před 5 lety

      and how the model is not blurred if you shot at first curtain?
      it´s impossible to be completely frozen 10 seconds for her...

      @@userten4340 ... your comment reveals that you can do with a bit more understanding about photography (especially Long Exposure techniques), @Jake Hicks's this tutorial is sure to open your eyes and clear any confusion you may have dear :) I personally like the possibilities of the end results here

    How are you able to adjust your shutter speed several times without adjusting your aperture or flash and still get the same shot??

    • @PbVeritas
      @PbVeritas Před 5 lety +6

      Shutterspeed does not effect the image exposre when you are using flash. It only controls how much available light is mixed into the shot. Since there is no available light at all in the scene (= light comes 100% from flash) you can have shutter speeds of minutes and still get the same result
