- In a previous episode, I showed my Cardano wallet and a viewer remarked at the fact that my Cardano holding is larger than my ICP position. How can a true believer not be all in on ICP he asked? Well, in this episode, I explain to you why I have more ADA than ICP. I also share with you my goal of possessing 10,000 Internet Computer tokens once I get out of debt. No I'm selling my ADA. I'm not a speculator. I'm an ICP community member that wants to help the network grow. I'm going all in. I'm sure ADA will do great tho, I don't doubt your judgment.
Compounding interest is going to be the key to reach that goal, especially if price goes up.
Personally, I am hoping 1k ICP yeilds about 100k in interest a year by 2029, which requires $840ish ICP value at 12% maturity... and now I sound crazy.

One thing the 5% is the inflation the network will do at the 8year, but not necessary the return you will get per year.
If you get aged bonus for 4 years it also increases your % rewards. So 5% is the inflation at the 8 year, it started with 10% inflation dropping to 7.06% now, and finally will get to 5%.

Yes man, understanding the real value of ICP, and holding cardano when you also understand there’s no way that token database can really be adopted by enterprises is losing a perfect opportunity on ICP.
You as dev you know that for every system or service or dapp built “on” it, it’s using middleware, and centralized cloud providers. So..

To earn 40 Icp a month by 2029 you actually need maybe 5-6k Icp, because you dind't take in count:
1. Current Voting Reward Function is allready at 7.07%
2. Age bonus, in a 4 years youw will gain 25% age bonus.
P.S I still have 16.2% thanks to age bonus.
Don't hold credit card debt. Get a line of credit and move your credit card debt to that. You'll save thousands of dollars. If you own your home, you can take out a home equity line of credit and the interest rate will be even smaller (i.e. savings will be even more than your regular (unsecured) line of credit.

@@cxc This is the thing about buying a house as opposed to renting it: You get to leverage a massive amount of money and you can hardly trade it. That's good because trading often makes people lose money. I follow this guy Jason Pizzino and he is pretty good with the macro economy. According to him, we're entering the everything bubble right now, including real estate. Everything is going crazy right now. Bitcoin is at all time highs in many currencies other than the US dollar. Gold is at all time highs in many currencies other than the US dollar. Stocks around the world, except China are hitting all time highs. Everything is going up. And according to him, this will all implode in about 2 to 3 years as we jump on this bandwagon of all time highs. So, if I didn't have a home, I would wait. Let your investments ride this high, get out. Wait for the bloodbath and then buy :)

Thanks again👍I think that your estimated 5% comes with a dissolve delay bonus of 100% (=10%)besides the age bonus of appr 2,5% max.(=12,5%)and the compounding effect of appr. 1.4% (13,9%) isn't the current percentage what our rewards are based on now around 7%? Couldn't find the right graphic at once. The estimated lowest interest was to be around 12% according to Jerry B I think. Wich would match with the calculation above. I'm not certain for 100% on this though.
I think the overall % once reaches 5% equates to what overall average % is after 8 years. Currently at 7.1% meaning % will eventually go to 5% but that’s not for the 8 years non dissolving. That is an average overall. So if reduce current overall average down to 5% from 7.1 where we are now I think May end up around 10% or more.
Should I set my goal based on the combined voting power including maturity, or should it be based on the ICP tokens I hold?

In the first year, the NNS allocates 10% of the total supply to generate voting rewards. This allocation rate drops quadratically until it reaches 5% by year 8 after genesis. It will not go down under 10% if it remains staked for 8 years since it'll have double the voting power.

How do you come up with needing 10k ICP for 40ICP a month? My 4k ICP neuron is paying 1.73ICP daily @ 51.9 ICP per month.
remember... I used 5% interest rates, not the current yields. The NNS rewards will go down to 5% eventually, so I used that rate in my equation
@@cxcI thought 8 year neurons give you double the voting power + age bonus would be 12% when the voting rewards go to 5% for the overall network? That would mean that you need only 4K ICP to get 40 ICP / month. If you staked for 1 year then it would make sense to get 5%

@@cxc hell if I know. I’d go into cash right now if I were in your position. ADA doesn’t look particularly great, IMO. I’m assuming you got in at very low price and have large gains.
I think we are going into a mini bear market for Bitcoin and cryptos that will last this summer. I’ve seen too many people on CZcams calling for a bull market that looks like previous halving cycle bull runs.
But Markets like to disappoint, frustrate, confuse and embarrass the most amount of people who are bold prognosticators.
In the fall, when people are shaken out and confidence is impaired, we’ll get the Bitcoin halving cycle bull run people were expecting. That’s what I think.
I recommend you sell half of your ADA and develop a plan to DCA the proceeds into ICP

Icp will be worth more than $100 by 2029... the bottom will be higher than that
your 2029 price predicton is VERY low. Why do you believe 10,000 icp when staked for 8 years will only pay you $4,000 a month when the rewards drop to 5% in 2029?

Working assumption of $100 per icp. In all probability it will go into the 1000s in 8 years.
They are conservative numbers used for calculations only. I believe ICP will blow past $1,000
