From 2006 - 2010 novak had health problems that lead to mid match collapses etc. Classy tennis leaders like fed and roddick assumed novak was a joke and was gaming the system. And everyone went along. Then in 2010 novak was diagnosed with gluten and dairy intolerance, and changed his regime. The mid match collapses were replaced with what we know to be Das Goat. If the haters want to latch on to a fantasy world where Roger is the only true classy elegant genius goat, be my guest...but over time, yall will pass on, and all that will remain are the real world stats of wins vs losses.

Let's be real. If people were given the opportunity to learn all of Federer or Djokovic's strokes, any person who isn't living in denial would pick Federer's. That tells you all you need to know who the GOAT is.

@@initialize21 when it comes to winning, it takes so much more than elegant strokes and graceful hair tossing; it requires a genius to predict what the opponent will do next, and the mindset to remain cool, composed and fearless under the most extreme pressure. Any person not living in denial would want novaks fitness and mindset over rogers....and while rogers strokes have more elegance grace and poetry, novak has a clinical perfection that one would be crazy to ignore.

    Absolutely.
From this point on, Roger literally took dig at Nole / his camp at every opportunity. Each body is different and matures differently and as an older established sportsman he should have tried to understand that but he and roddick did everything to taint Nole's image and his retirements. Nole's family retaliated with "King is dead. Long Live the King".
Western media showed us only the nole family issue but not the Roger's part (funded by his sponsors/PR machinery)
Infact to this day, Fedal fans complain about those retirements Nole took early in his career and tag him as fake. But in reality, Nole only retired 4 times in the whole of previous decade compared to 11 from Rafa. Strange is this biased world or rather, strange is my expectation that expects an unbiased world from this poison media consuming audience.🤷‍♂

No I don't agree..Federer wasn't the only one who thought djokovics time outs were strategic because a lot of times djokovic bounced back and won after being down and put.
Multiple players had raised an issue about it not only roddick or Federer
The number of retirements were never the issue, the time outs and mysterious injuries which suddenly became ok we're the issue.
Djokovic's parents just had resentment against Federer from the start.Federer was No 1 and they wanted their son to dethrone him.
If it was about Federer's comments then they would've picked up fights with half the tour

Early? Are you serious? He did it during his hole carreer. And it wasn't the retirements they complained about. That is manipulation from your side. Nole is the GOAT, but he is not perfect. As Nadal and Federer weren't as well. Nobody is.

My opponent can say he cant even walk and then beats me for example, I wouldnt say a word. I wouldnt bother myself thinking if he was faking or not. Djokovic never confronted Roger directly, during a match, or using the press. He was smarter than that. He knew that with the fans and the press, he would never win that war. So, he just waited, and waited, for years... he kept playing, and winning, and winning, slowly erasing all the big Roger´s numbers. One by one, year after year, until today. Silently, knowing that the popularity award was lose from the very beginnig against Federer, he went to the other direction, to the numbers. Breaking the majority of the records that belonged to Roger these years. And with that strategy, he broke what he really wanted to brake: Roger´s ego. As a sweet and giant reward for all the public humillation inflicted by the swiss with this kind of statements. And Roger has had to swallow that in silence, cause Novak never confronted him. Maybe to the big eye, the swiss is more beloved, BUT, the numbers (and that´s what is left in the history books) are Novak´s property. We are talking about professional sport, training all your life to be the best you can. A very few, like the big 3, has the opportunity to challenge and write history. Between them is all about winning the most. And Roger knows this: no matter how much love he can receive all around the world, the best of the best is Novak

@@huzcer Ya I guess kicking Sampras as at age 19 Fed sure had to put in his dues to get past that legend lol. He kicked his ass basically from day one. Get outta here with that joke of an argument. Again go look at replays of Rafa whinning when they sped up his beloved clay with blue clay and Roger tuned him up. Rafa whined like a girl. He forced tennis to go back to all red clay for the entire clay court season or he threatened to never enter a Spanish tournament that did so. So in other words.....the speed of the courts and balls make all the difference in the world at that level. Slowness to Rafa. Speed to Roger.
They just happened to choose slower courts and balls for more interesting rallies. It is what it is. But sure as the sun it prevented Roger from winning like he had been winning. Maybe tennis is better for it....but still ain't gonna agree cause it's true.

His progress is huge on shots, movement and most of all - serve. It is fair to say there was a significant age difference between Federer and Djokovic, but Djokovic and Nadal are the same age and Nadal was the only rival for Federer when Federer was in his prime and still Djokovic accomplished what he did while having Nadal as his rival. Also what is now doing at 36 years of age is insane. If we are honest the GOAT content relies on numbers, not opinions. If you don't believe this made a difference just look at all the players batching right now about the heavy slower Dunlop balls. Players are booking their entire schedule around avoiding them because they know they cannot win playing with them and too high risk of injuries for anyone but the absolute most powerful brutes. Novak just hurt himself in Australia playing with these new stupid balls.
Well they did the same stupid change to screw Federer over in 2007 and it certainly made the 2nd and 3rd place guys more competitive

I love Roger,.. Set the new standard for all time greatness...
But in a sport measured by Grand slams and tournaments won.. Joke s gonna win 25or 26 Majors and maybe 5-6 more total tournaments.
I mean Noone here s suggesting Sampras is the greatest... It is what it is.
Also Novak s more real, says what his heart feels, admits imperfections... More of a real guy.
Too bad u can't accept it.
Nole will get #25 some point this year. 5 more slams than Roger..
    Thats Alot.

More and more people are now realising that Federer, despite his carefully put on nice guy image, was at heart a salty arrogant man. No coincidence that there was not a word from him when Novak won his 23rd and then his 24th Slam. Novak turned out to be the bigger person, again and again. Poetic justice that Novak has literally kicked Federer out of the record books. Literally all the records that matter now belong to Novak.

Novak is the GOAT since he’s got the most GS now….but who wins between a peak Djojovic and peak Federer? I feel that a few close matches lost against Djokovic killed Federer confidence as he got older. But it would be interesting to peak Federer with no mental fragility against peak Novak.

Facts get a time machine, go to '06 Fed in the moment, propose a match against the "real best player of all time" (Djokovic 2015, 2011, or whenever), and see how he'd show up. Guarantee he would have very few mental lapses
