This reportage is not very accurate. The truth is, there are more Nigerians in Ghana than the are Ghanaians in Nigeria. Nigeria will be the biggest loser if relationships break down.
The biggest Nigerian businessmen do their business in Accra not Kumasi. Magazine where the incident happened is a small market area in Kumasi. The people there are mostly uneducated. All they know is foreigners in Ghana are not allowed to run retail shops. Which is true by the laws but I don’t think it’s up to them to take the laws into their own a hands and go attacking foreign shop owners.
The ECOWAS leaders must iron out their differences so that Ghana can allow foreigners to run retail shops.

In every country, there are good and bad ones. Some Nigerians are good and lead decent lives. Some are also lazy and fraudsters . I think the government should allow the hard work Nigerians to do their genuine businesses and arrest and deport the fraudsters. Just yesterday, a Nigerian man beat his own child till he died and his wife helped him burry him. It was Ghanaians who reported him and he has been arrested by the police.
Last week, two friends were just arguing and just like that, one used broken bottle to stab the other, fortunately he survived but the other guy has also been arrested.
Two days ago, a police stopped a motor rider but he refused to stop. The police chased him but unfortunately, his bike hit a young school girl but she survived. Guess who, a Nigerian and his reason was he left his licence at home so he wanted to rush home to pick it up.
95% of all robbery cases in Ghana has Nigerian involvement.
Last week, a police arrested a guy who traffics young girls from Nigeria to come and do prostitution in Ghana. Some as young as 15 years, who does that. His own sister was included in this barbaric act.

I mean the order was called "alien compliance act" - it even gives you an idea of what the order was about. SMH. Also, their large numbers also makes misinformation to fester easily. It is exactly the same way they misinterpreted the recent "Play Ghana initiative" and claimed it was about playing only Ghanaian music - meanwhile that wasn't what it was about but yet, most of my brothers chose to believe and push their own narrative. Nigerians are only brothers with Ghanaians when it benefits them. The law in Ghana is clear. Retail is reserved only for the natives. Stop deliberately trying to twist the ECOWAS protocol. Free movement doesn't mean you can do whatever you want in a member country. A tiny country like Ghana cannot absorb even a fraction of retailers from a country like Nigeria whose population is projected to be 400 million by 2050 into our retail space. Our visionary leaders foresaw this that is why they drafted the law. By the way where was that brotherhood when you gave over two million Ghanaians in your country just two weeks to leave or face jail.
