It is too bad that the senior sister didn't start the search for a suitable bride for Jiang Cheng. Either he would have gone into a slight panic, which would have been fun to watch, or Jiang Cheng might have liked the idea. Maybe having a caring wife and lady of the clan would have brightened his life and heart?
I guess she just wants to support Jiang Cheng for now, since they've been going through a lot. Like she said in the banquet, it may be not the time to settle an arrange marriage because they're still busy with rebuilding the Lotus Cove.
It always surprised me that his parents never tried to arrange one for him before they died. Obviously, Jiang Yanli originally having an engagement was important, but at the end of the day, it didn’t matter who she married. She wouldn’t be able to pass on her family name; her children would’ve taken her husband’s surname. But as the heir/leader of the Yunmeng Jiang Clan and only biological son of the former clan leader Jiang Fengmian, Jiang Cheng has the responsibility of continuing his family name. If he dies without an heir, the Jiang Clan will be finished when (or if) he dies. It just makes me sad Jiang Fengmian nor Yu Ziyuan thought to help their son in this way. Just goes to show why Jiang Cheng felt like an outsider in his own family. 😢😢
